  • What the heck did Ben say during his first line at the beginning after "Feel the rhythm with you hand"?

  • cornell is god

  • stp r better live

  • Is that the DooM theme i hear in the begining? The one for the playstation? Wtf is that doing at a soundgarden concert?

  • Robin Zander rules

  • yes, he's amazing, they're all amazing, but why the fuck do i like the album version better?

  • @veraakv Because as amazing as Soundgarde was, i don't think they ever sounded as good live as in the studio. Some bands just excel in the studio...others on stage. Pearl Jam was always known as a live band...Zeppelin was a studio band and only occasionally had their moments on stage much like Soundgarden.

  • @dpeab11370 No band sounds as good live as in the studio its not possible.

  • Dont u ever put Cornell in the same sentence with that "cute guy" again!!!!!

  • guitarist resembles jesus/homeless man

  • haha agree...

  • some people actually think axl rose is a better vocalist than chris cornell... man, there are some really stupid people out there.

  • 2:50 to 3:05 kinda sounds like something tool would do...and I love it!

  • totally agree haha sounds like the stinkfist bridge.

  • soundgarden aún vivee!!!!!

mientras su musica suene son eternos!!!!!

  • Comeeee together wwiiittth your handsss, saaaveeeee meeee??!??

    Oh yeaaaah.

  • i really dont get why they dont just get back together. they are fantastic. if pearl jam can have such a long career releasing mediocre albums i am sure that soundgarden could have pulled out a couple more killers. hell, even alice in chains is back in the studio. all i want out of cornell is to give us SOMETHING. thayil wanted to put out a b sides collection out in 07 but cornell was douche.

  • also wes borland

  • most underrated guitarists

    5.kim thayil

    4.the dge

    3.tom morello

    2.ritchie blackmore

    1.john frusciannte

  • What about Lifeson?

  • who that

  • alex lifeson from rush. and edge is not underrated he's just not rated.

  • yeah i ooked up lifeson just i dont listen to rush and why isnt edge rated

  • cause he's not good

  • look dude just cause he doesnt have that many catchy riffs of crazy solos dosent mean hes not good hes an innovator whose digital sound gave a great band like u2 thier unique sound

  • tom morello is not underrated, he is on guitar hero now ffs.

  • He's still an increadble guitarest. And no guitar player is more overrated than slash.

  • totally agreed. I would take thayil or cornell for that matter, as a guitarist in my band anyday over slash.

  • you guys are retarded. slash is the most soulful guitar player out there.

eddie is the best though. ed van halen kicks so much ass it's amazing

  • van halen sucks.

  • really hows that? im not the one on a soundgarden video talking about van gaylen. i have good taste in music and just trying to go over the top isnt good, showing off just because you can doesnt make you good

  • ... not.

  • G&R smoke Soundgarden? You've gotta be a fucking moron. Axl Rose is the worst live singer in the world, go watch some of their videos. Hah!!

  • lololol, are you going to bring up album sales next? Cornell has (or had, rather) singing ability Axl only wishes he could have.

  • axl rose is a great live singer ! he sucks from 2001-current, yet hes had som good 2006 performances.

his AMAZING performances were back in85-93. id suggest u check those out. they sound exactly like the album.

but chris cornell is still better =D

  • Axl was a cute guy... but Chris Cornell more cute... and by far better vocalist... really Axl was a pretty face!!!

  • axl was "a cute guy"?

    °.°

  • Well, for me Axl just cute, Chris Cornell is HOT!

  • lol ye no offence, I guess I just don't see it

  • @kramerspadowskiki Jerry Cantrell too bro!

  • Sabbath rip at the end.

  • It's called Searching With My Good Eye Closed

  • It's called Searching With My Good Eye Closed

  • Kim Thayil... probably the most underrated guitarist ever

  • piss off you gimp , he hardly wrote any of the songs , an he hid to much behind the wah pedal on his solos

  • Ha! Coming from somebody that probably doesn't have any talent what so ever

  • Agreed, whenever you hear people trying to do his guitars they don't sound anything like him. For instance Tom Morello doesn't sound close to him, even though Morello is a different style, I don't think he could capture it.

  • well tom morello is a much more talented guitarist that writes music and lyrics.. did thayil do that?:O they are both great guitarists.. no need to fight wich one is the better...

  • Thayil did write lyrics and music you numbskull.

He wrote quite a few SG songs.

  • dude it was a question! i didnt know that he did write stuff. sorry but i did mention that he is a great guitarist and so is morello. didnt mean to start a fight. jeez...

  • funny i totally agreed i had him 5th most underrated ithink john frusciante from chilis is THE most underrated

  • What a sick band.. Wish they would get back together now that Audioslave is no more.

(What song are they playing after spoonman, anyone know?)

  • searching with my good eye closed

  • As much as I love the superunknown album, he can't sing for shit here. I've never seen them live. Is it always like that??? It's like he can't hit the notes live.

  • Not sure I agree totally but true it's not his best performance. I saw Cornell live last year and yes, he is the real deal. You should see him.

    - C sXe

  • he had some sort of medical condition after the 94 tour that strained his vocal chords

  • drummers*

  • hey guys this is a Soundgarden video, not a forum for putting down drummers- especially drummer like Travis Barker who has a great technique and is technically a very good drummer, one of my favs

  • the riff sounds like hold me thrill kiss me kill me by u2. i think i know who nicked it :)

  • are you saying u2 stole the riff or soundgarden stole it? because spoonman was released before that u2 song im fairly sure

  • oh no i meant u2 - theyre always at it. that song vertigo is 'get free' by the vines in a higher key if you listen to the riff.

  • fuckin u2

  • That must've been one rockin' show!

  • Matt Cameron...now that was talented drumming. Listen to how clean his playing is live. Compare that to today's "drum hero" Travis Barker. Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Long live Cameron.

  • agree 100%

  • Travis Barker sucks big time. He`s not a really good rock drummer anyway. I prefer guys like Mat and Dave Grohl.

  • long live artis the spoonman, cornell, thayil, shepherd..............soundgarden

  • i agree with noah. this is my fave band, and this is my 2nd fave soundgarden song of all time. and I think it's time cornell and the guys seriously consider a comeback.

  • that would be great but you should listen to the audioslave cover before you jump to conclusions and of you have good for you but i disagree. whoops posted in wrong place.

  • dude......

what the hell r u talking about?

  • type in "audioslave spoonman" on youtube I think its better because well the singing is the same obviously but Tom Morello zested up that solo and audioslave as a whole covers the song better than it was originally produced.

  • come back motherfuckers!

  • Thayil is one of the most underrated guitarists ever

  • When Ben does that bass solo at around 2:20 it gives me chills!!!

  • Wait, is that Ben Shepherd on bass? He looks like the Hulk?

  • hey pootwooter69, suck a dick. this is my favorite band and u can go fucking die. they rock, and if u don't like them than y would u watch the goddamn video? they sound great. you're probably some 13 year old who likes fag music like MCR or Panic @ the Disco and u have no musically taste for the greatest alternative rock band ever.

  • Agreed, except that they're a grunge band.

  • Sounds pretty sick

  • you're retarded.

  • im interested in the music you like - may I ask?

  • After 2:00 his voice is sweet. This song is hard to sing and he does great. Can't belive the bitching, its a Rock show not an opera.

  • He sounds a little flate

  • flat* :S

  • Try singing like that every night while drunk, high and just generally sleepy.

  • by this time chris's voice was allready starting to fuck up, but he was great, as his voice too.

  • go see him live, and u will regret that comment

  • No, he is only just very inconsistent, but he still has some very amazing performances.

  • i saw chris cornell live in september, and honestly he is one of the greatest live performers ive ever seen in my life. his voice is so powerful it just blew me away. if a 16 year old girl can appreciate a talent like that, then so should u.

  • that would be great but you should listen to the audioslave cover before you jump to conclusions and of you have good for you but i disagree.

  • Yeh...it looks like there's not much chemestry between them...like if they had an argument before coming on stage or something!..but they still are an awesome band...live and in the studio...

  • i love soundgarden and am a 'grunger' but fucking hell they are boring live. turned this off near the start. maby they kick off i dont know but i wasnt entertined at all sorry guys

  • I have the music video, tried to upload it some times but I don't know what's the permission they ask!!!

  • he sounds worn out.. but the screams are unmistakable

  • for some strange reason, Chris tends to sing slightly flat live. and it's not just a one off, he's done it throughout his career. I've got bootlegs from 1988, all the way up to 1997 and he's singing just under the note for most of them....

  • Chris sounds a little flat.

  • awesome

  • I saw them at Roseland a few days before/after this show. They were unreal. Cameron is the man

  • err I meant does he ever use a whammy?

  • I'm not sure...but if I find out I'll let you know.

  • Does Kim Thayil use a pedal on stage?

  • These guys are amazing. Caddie 1979, do you know what venue this was from?

  • it's either sacramento, california or meza, arizona....I have it written down somewhere.

  • i talked to kim recently after a velvet revolver concert in seattle, he has alot of white hair in his beard...amazing guitarist

  • ben shepard always sings his part waay too fast, hah, but this was a really good performance

  • Thayil is so underrated. He never does anything over fancy but the stuff he does flawlessly and it works out so awesome. He plays with the feedback a lot too...its great.

  • this guy knew the true from the beginning

  • yes, amazing...i saw soundgarden in Bologna(italy) in 1996, i'm italian, i wont forget that live!! i grew up listening to their music. ciao!

  • I like how, during the solo he looks away from the guitar. Haha...

  • Kim Thayil looks like Daron Malakian^^

  • Kim Thayil is a fuckin' BALLER, Yo!

  • This is the best live version of this song, and I've heard a lot, I like how Kim Thayil improvises on this, Different version of standard Soundgarden song. Soundgarden the Led Zeppelin of the 1990s.

  • That´s a very good comparison. SG are still an underrated band. Miss them. Cameron is doing a great job in PJ.

Hope there will be a reunion!

  • Thank-you! Great comparison!

  • This is the fucking shit man

  • back in his super anorexic days....

  • amazing
