Misuse and overuse of anything, even water, is lethal. There isn't a single case, not ONE, that is directly connected to steroid use (abuse is another matter entirely). The same synthetic hormones used for body building are also prescribed to eldery men in what we call "Hormone replacement therapy" without ill effects. Just like alcohol, the government profits from banning substances. The result is uncontrolled use. If doctors were monitoring these athletes, no harm would be done...
