I don't think the point is whose version is better. I think the point is that such a legendary and prolific songwriter thought enough of this song to remake it. Trent has such a fantastically unorganic sound that I don't think I could have ever heard any of his music done like this.  Cash simply blew me away with this, and I heard that it brought Trent to tears when he heard it.
