  • Nice Hapkido Trailer:

    youtube.com/watch?v=_ugw_Cinwjs

  • everything cool until the stupid cane drills.

  • krokum nägär fom..............

  • 1:48pm Saturday (CDT) - Time in M

  • Bässt men kan bli snabbare som vatten:?

  • Bässt

  • I feel bad for the pool souls that decide to trry and take this guy's wallet eh? :]

  • at 2:29 ive been on the recieving end of those and thats hurts like a BICH !!!!

  • i just did my exam for my first black belt degree the exhange behind his back he just slowed down and all moves in generally so it would be visible on the DVD if he goes the speed it normally does the movie would be over in 2 mins or less

  • nice moves, however, at 2:15 he turns his back on his opponent. In a real fight you're going to get bashed in the back of the head and knocked unconscious before you can complete that hand exchange......

  • que viagem

  • who would attack you by graping your hand like that? It's more likely to grab you from your neck or shoulder. It's nice looking, however it would be better if the moves were a simplier

  • Actually theres more than just hand grabing in Hapkido. There are diffrent kinds of punches, kicks and dodges. Also throwing, "sweeps", Hand and Leg locks, Control and haul gribs, Chokes and Binds, Fighting on ground and standing, Nerve point fighting, Weapon Techniques(Long stick, walking stick, Short Stick, String, Knife, Sword and Throwing Weps), Breathing Techniques, Meditation, "Nerveroad Massage", Eastern Medical Techs and Destruction(Destroying a brick for example). I train Hapkido.

  • Someone once said that only the police will grab your hand like that, LOL! In training, the Hapkido student practices against wrist, shoulder, collar, hair grabs etc. in order to learn how to enter the technique. Later they put them together in combinations, and don't need that first step. The demos seem to like them in order to make for a better show.

  • excelente!

  • i agree, i do hapkido and have tried aikido and hapkido better for me. it has kicks and strikes too and is alot faster and applies what u learn to everything. from punches to kicks to knife and gun defense

  • I don't care what the aikido people say. That was intense, like espresso in a syringe.

  • The leg lock technique was pretty cool!

    "Kumzamida" for sharing this video

  • the grabbing techniques are not as efficient as those of Aikido.

  • haha he just toys with the opponent lol

  • I think the techniques in Hapkido are great, although I have to admit that I'm curious what happens if they have a frantic, fast pruncher in front of them..did martial arts for years, also a bit of this but..hmm..I don't know.

  • you are right. against the chain punches from wing tsun, for example...

  • OR how's about my dick punches in your momma's mouth !!

  • i think that you own a pussy rather than a dick.

  • Is there different styles of hapkido

  • i asked this question to some blokes at a martial arts store that i go to. They said hapkido is just hapkido. I think different schools and masters just give it different names but it should all be the same.

  • it came from like jujitsu and aikido type stuff but it has become its own style. its no longer a mix of anything, hapkido is simply hapkido

  • Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu, Taekkyeon, and Tang Soo Do, and it still looks like a mix of these things to me.

  • well every art you could say look like a mix of something, but it isnt a very accurate remark to say so about most of them

  • nigga it's hapkido you dumb motherfucka

  • Lol, I know that it is hapkido. I am sorry for making a "keyboard warrior" remark like that. My intention was that those where where Hapkido was derived from and if you look into those things, it is really clear that it did come from those things. I know that it is what makes Hapkido Hapkido though. I am sorry for saying that though. :[

  • @Joeypeck87 :

  • I would think different schools would emphasize different techniques and strategies.

  • He like playing with that guy

  • WOW, I do Tae Kwon Do, it`s cind of the same! but this is more Tough!!!! COOL!!!

  • Wow. That music is Epic Bad.

  • The Hapkido idea of using a walking cane is genius. You have all your life to train with this. When you are old you already have it with you should some idiot attack you.

  • yeah, we're gonna lern this soon.

  • ... awesome.

  • ПРИКОЛЬНО

  • Hosinsul mean ' self defence '

  • Hapkido is diesel

  • muito bom umdia viro faxa preta tbm

  • I would like to see Hapkido done more offensivly. Instead of Guy A reaching out and grabing Guy B's hand and then Guy B performing the technique......Why not Guy B use a kick or a punch as a set up to the technique?????

  • That's because Guy B is a nice guy. =)

  • ahahahah nice one :)

  • Yes you're right. If you punch or kick before Hapkido fighters using their technique, than you may move out from it. good point. that's why I using my counter-grab techniques quickly before opponent is strike me.

  • I like it...

  • I wonder if this works against genghi sudahn < whatever its name or ramon dekker.

  • that was an awesome vid.

  • Exciting!!! I do know of a school that teaches serious Hapkido from Korea!! I found it by researching all over the USA. It is in Hollywood, FL and the instructor is from Korea. I quit my ju-jitsu school of 12 years and moved to join. The only Hapkido school I have seen that really teaches serious Hapkido. You should check it out, Honestly.

  • Hey unecesary. I looked up the school you train at. I think it is the same one. Do they call it Hapkiyoosool? In Hollywood, FL there is only one Hapkido school. How far did you have to move to train? I hope you didn't waste your time. I mean they look really good but, ya never know.

  • Cool.. my former Hapkido instructor(3rd Dan) was taught by a guy named Mike McCarty, who is a 6th Dan.. This guy Mike was taught by Ji Han Jae.. Sin Moo Hapkido is great... cut the fat, get right to the point.

  • What the.. Is he trained with Ji Han jae?!

you can have your own gym If you have 4 or higher than 4th Dan (Dan mean grade, so It's just like professional level)

  • Every martial art has to offer something...Its a big mistake when someone underestimates...But I just find the mixed style of Hapkido, irresistible...

  • I practise Hapkido, too and i must say it´s a very usefull against enemys!!!!!

  • I'm taking hapkido it is a fun art, I love it.

  • i used to do judo but i would like to start this but nowhere hear where i live actually teaches the art

  • Well executed techniques. What we should all remember is these teqniques are designed for combat not Sport or MMA Cage fights etc with rules. These techniques would not be allowed in the UFC so of course BJJ would be more effective there because it relates more to Competition with Rules and a referee. No Martial Arts are bad if practiced and trained properly but there is a real difference between those used in competition and those designed for true life or death combat.

  • yeah that really true, if a person is good at waht they do, they have a strong chance of showing their true martial art potential

  • Excelent video of true hapkido, where can find this videos.

  • The only problem I see with hapkido, from the videos I've seen, is that they seem to spend a little too much time on wrist grabs, which somene isn't going to run into very often.

  • Wrist grab are the basis in order to start an exercise, in the real life the techniques come from the blocking of a punch/kick

  • I dont´t konw how old video this is,but thecniques was great! Hapkido is not just locks and kicks, there are much more, this was just a few of that.Great video, very smooth and pure thecniques!!I liked it :D -trained Kwan Nyom Hapkido for 5 years-

  • I have the feeling that most of the people who discredit ANY art simply by watching a video or two have probably never studied.

I used to train Hapkido and it was a very positive experience. I currently train Budo taijutsu, but a majority of the principles transfer over.

Honestly, martial arts are not about techniques, but rather about feeling and improvisation. A clip like this is meant to give the viewer a notion of this, not a blueprint for real life situations.

  • You can usually tell these people from a mile away. They're the ones that always say "MMA would beat everyone" or "BJJ would beat everyone".

  • i like this stuff a lot but am a bit curious why in the demos the uke is pretending to be dead/knocked out for a few seconds!

  • He's not pretending that he's dead or knocked out... It's simply pain! It's really hard on join like wrisk. He is suffuring!

  • Hapkido is a tool and doesn't exclude any other martial art at all. Most every hapkido student I know is comfortable with BJJ ground fighting, kicking/punching/striking, and projection/retention from a grapple. None of the other Hapkido students I know discredit other martial arts because we all know that they have some perspective that is useful. It is a person, not a style, that fails to recognize a situation.

  • A demo is just that- showing what works from a certain situations. OK so a real fight is messier, but years of training enable a trained martial artist to understand exactly what bits to grab, and how much to twist em! It hurts like hell even if you know how to fall, believe me. If you don't understand, either learn or don't judge.

  • shut the fuck up, that is, too pissed off to spell right...

  • Here is something for all of you people that think that Hapkido is a very inpracticle art. It is one of the most street effective arts that was ever made, more so then Boxing, or Karate, or in some cases Kung Fu. So before you go bad mouthing something you dont truly understand, might i suggest that you actaully study the art and study how its works, then come back to me with your complaints. Otherwise, shut the fuck and simply watch the video.

  • hahaha! I loved the way you turn the conversation! I pratice hapkido, I'm on your side!

  • Do you really think your going to defend off more then 1 attacker with hapkido. Your retarded if you think so. The chance of the attackers grabbing your wrist and you peforming a lock/break is highly unlikely(immposible). Even more unlikely is using Bang Wong Sul (korean for punching defense). I have a recommendation for all hapkido practioners. Quit now and go study a more practical martial art.

  • Recomendation. Be quiet. Go to a hapkido class and learn the other syllabus. Then you shall see why it is good.

  • like wich one?

  • mmm..I don't agree with u. And i don't study hapkido.. I think they should train in another fighting art as well..boxing, kickboxing..muay thai..a personal style is always best..take what works for you and go with it!

  • This isent just wristlocks, there is many kicks in hapkido, and some punches. About the only problem I see in Hapkido is the same as all Korean fighting styles, they dont use their hands enough, mostly kicks, they have GREAT kicks, but to often have I seen them get punched in the face. I am living proof of this, I did TKD for a while and never had to use my hands, I joined Kempo and right off the bat punched in the face, over and over till I learned lol Im better now, but need work still lol

  • What style of Kempo

  • Its called Shaolin Kempo, its like a mix between Kung fu, Karate and some jujutsu for grappling. I dont think it actually has anything to do with REAL shaolin, but we do a little kung fu stuff, mostly like circular defence and stuff. Most people just use the karate techniques in sparring cause they seem to work better, but some kung fu stuff is good, besides, with pads and puffy gloves kung fu cant reach its full potential... Kung fu has its place in a REAL fight, not sparring in full gear lol

  • I like that people are so ignorant of HKD. They will make the mistake of underestimating a good practitioner only one time. Hee Hee

  • omg the ignorance is just too much.. lol

  • C'est une très belle video d'Hapkido originel. L'art martial Coréen dans toute sa splendeur !!!

  • oh un ami francais! je suis de montreal et j'ai la chance de pratiquer l'hapkido avec un grand maitre!

  • This looks like fun. I hope these Hapki do people never enter a real fight.

  • Well, hapkido's real enough for most police departments in the world, and for bodyguard academies in Korean and some other countries, but hey, what do I know?

  • Korea, not Korean.

  • Ótimo vídeo! Parabéns. Michael - Um Yang Kwan

  • The wrist grab defense is good if you're a woman that's being dragged off to a car. It also has defense against kicks, punches and whatever. Also, I may be wrong in this but aren't the defense against wrist grabs good for Judo?

  • Defense against wrist grabs and clothing grabs are handy in the midwest, where in order to punch you, the farmboys prefer to grab you with their left hand first (so that their right hand doesn't miss).

  • You do realize that grabbing someone's right shoulder with your left hand makes it almost impossible for them to land a right hand to the head. Of course an ude garami is a good counter.

  • what kinda of attack or demo was that, stand 1on1 than suddenly grab his hand, inste of attack him wit multple jabs, punchs, kick or 80%-90% fight go to the ground mostly with the headlock.hapkido is the perfect self defence with if suddenly end up wit other martial art such as the mighty muay thai or the famous brazilian jiu-jitsu for ground fighting which mostly work for the real street fight so just want 2 know how hapkido fighter are going to defence again this kind of situation

  • Do you really want to go to the floor against two attackers at once? Rethink your martial art.Brizillian Jiu jitsu is good against 1 on 1 ONLY.

  • Excelente tecnica de estos Koreanos, muy buen video.
