In Korea, no one does hardly any sports seriously unless they are going to be a professional player even when they are in elementary school. It means that they are not gymnasts or anything. So, cheer leading is a little different from the U.S. However, that's what you see in professional baseball or basketball games in Korea (there is no American footbal cheer team because there are not many people outside of the U.S. watches Americal football). So, that's legit.
hollywood is not a good representation of america, but because that's all most people see they think that's how the entire nation is.
also; to 742765; what the hell is korean cheer? there is no korean cheer. it's an american sport. SPORT! this crap they're doing is not a sport. "american idea of high scohol cheer" is the proper idea of cheerleading. what the hell.
they're bopping around doing half-ass "stunts." there's no tumbling involved at all whatsoever. cheerleading is a typical american sport, & i dont know why korea is obsessed with doing everything america does.

Sure they arent doing stunts american cheerleaders do... and even if it doesnt look like cheerleading to you they do have some pretty cool stuff.. check 0.20 - 0.40
they are in perfect sync. im so impressed. most of the cheerleaders in korea that are from korean schools suck. no offence. nobody can beat the american schools ;]
korean cheer is a little different from american idea of high school cheer. the focus more on dance and formation then tumbling and building pyramids.
they were very good at the dancing parts although they kept on doing easy stunts (double bass) they could of been better with a torch stunt or a basket toss.
