This is just lovely and so affecting. It really shows the emotion that binds all members of the animal kingdom, (including Man), regardless of the species. I don't understand the ugly comments by some youtube posters to this really touching story. This lion is more human than they are. This is a heartbreakingly touching moment and story. I despair of people who must belittle and mock something so loving to feel big and clever about themselves.

The dangerous creature is us, human beings. We do more to harm animals and their habitat than we should. This video is a true inspiration and as far as lions being dangerous, from what I read they hunt to survive and would only attack if their welfare or the welfare of their family is threatened.

The only problem is that habitats are quickly dwindling due to human occupation. The one upside to reputable zoos is their invaluable education of the general public. They enable people to appreciate animals by seeing them upclose and learn about their situation in the wild, in a way that pictures on a screen can't do. Every person that's inspired to change their views and behaviours towards bettering the life of animals in the wild is important and I think good zoos play a large role in this.

I fully agree! it hurts when you see amazing creatures locked up for us to see..... if we want to look at animals go on the internet for pics or go and visit them in their own habitat. I do like those rescue zoos where they find a animal in need of help and then when they are better they release them into the wild...
Yes rescue zoos are wonderful and are needed. I agree. But I hate to see animals degraded in any way, another one is a circus. I do not see one good reason to still have them. clowns are scary also!

I am moved by this clip.We had a nice and well behaved boy at our home(Spencer,the German Sheperd)He used to behave exactly like Christion.He ate with us ,played with us,slept with us and shared his anger with us.Three months back he passed away.But the feelings never die and we live the moment with the Christion.

I love Christian and his story, but not this video. Because this video says that these guys "teach Christian friendship". Christian is about universal love, and how it transends all, not about "humans teaching animals things". If you've read the story, you know that what is special is how Christian knows his friends are coming before they arrive and waits for them. He waits for his loved ones and then shows that love is universal in their last meeting. The other Christian videos are much better.

I think instead of saying they taught Christian love, it would've been more accurate to say that the 3 found true friendship & that they showed Christian the love that he had been denied until then & because of their *showing* him love, their unbreakable friendship came to be.

The two guys are amazing. I agree. If it wasn't for what they did, that lion wouldn't have turned that way. But think about it, the outcome is that we see one of the cruelest animals on Earth showing a soft heart, and that is what's so different about it. There are humans who need to learn a little bit about gratitude and loyalty from this lion!

I had the good fortune to hold a baby lion cub years ago and I was amazed at his strength and beauty.
I wish these magnificient animals would be left alone to live in our world without man sticking them in a cage.
thank goodness these 2 great guys had the courage to rescue him and then give him the life he deserved.

I fully agree! it hurts when you see amazing creatures locked up for us to see..... if we want to look at animals go on the internet for pics or go and visit them in their own habitat. I do like those rescue zoos where they find a animal in need of help and then when they are better they release them into the wild...

Yes rescue zoos are wonderful and are needed. I agree. But I hate to see animals degraded in any way, another one is a circus. I do not see one good reason to still have them. clowns are scary also!

I think that the "Christian The Lion" videos and pics are all amazing. Love is trully unconditional, many people should take an example from the story. It's true that animals are much better than human most of the time.

I can't get enough of these videos of Christian! I cry at every one I watch. They're beautiful.
I hope John and Andrew kept in touch with him after their intial visit. Does anyone know if they did? That was a love story that's everlasting, I doubt Christian would ever forget them.
According to the video, it's almost been 40 years since they first got him. Don't know how long lions live, but surely he can't still be around, unfortunately.

Amazing, we only need to give animals a chance and be compassionate not kill them for no reason. They can show a lot of us what real love is.

Everyone should realize animals have true feelings too!!! They sense kindness and truly good people with powers people could never understand...We should free ALL captive animals into the wild and give them their land back so we could all live in harmony like the old days....

Talk about tears? I went through a whole box of kleenex. Here I say I won't watch anymore (watched the Whitney Houston version), and I can't stop. Wonderful, abousoulty wonderful.
Thanks, guys. Okay, added to favorites. Time to attend to my animals, (walked all the dogs for almost 2 miles last night)- feeding time.
Oh I wish I had the land for lions or a tiger- maybe a bear- for sure llamas and sheep- just for wool- I'd name them all, could never be food. All pets. Someday........Peace.

Saw this today on The View and had to join you tube, just so that I could see this wonderful video. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. Share this with everyone you know, especially those who don't like animals or those who hunt them. Let them know animals do have feelings. Love them don't kill them.

Wow how weird is it that in Homeward Bound-the incredible journey as they were playing this music Shadow stopped for a second and so did Chrisitan. Then they all like hugged. It's like he memorized it perfectly.

Aww.......how precious and wonderful is that! That just proves that animals can remember things! No one can tell me that animals don't remember people & how they helped them! I am moved by this clip.We had a nice and well behaved boy at our home(Spencer,the German Sheperd)He used to behave exactly like Christion.He ate with us ,played with us,slept with us and shared his anger with us.Three months back he passed away.But the feelings never die and we live the moment with the Christion.

well,i think this vid is pretty good,as there are more details,but there's another video that makes it more special with its song,even though there isnt much detail..only the lion running back to their arms..but it's the one by swedenlover..the 1.35 min one..it's lovely..

I love Christian and his story, but not this video. Because this video says that these guys "teach Christian friendship". Christian is about universal love, and how it transends all, not about "humans teaching animals things". If you've read the story, you know that what is special is how Christian knows his friends are coming before they arrive and waits for them. He waits for his loved ones and then shows that love is universal in their last meeting. The other Christian videos are much better.

While I love this video for the images I do agree with you. I think instead of saying they taught Christian love, it would've been more accurate to say that the 3 found true friendship & that they showed Christian the love that he had been denied until then & because of their *showing* him love, their unbreakable friendship came to be.
Sonofkripton, try to understand that the one line about *teaching* Christian love sends a message that isn't accurate to their story. That's all sam meant. :)

Of course Christian taught us something to, but i think these guys where a great influence, think about it, what would happened if Christian wasnt raise by them, u really think he would turn out the same way??? i dont think so...

The two guys are amazing. I agree. If it wasn't for what they did, that lion wouldn't have turned that way. But think about it, the outcome is that we see one of the cruelest animals on Earth showing a soft heart, and that is what's so different about it. There are humans who need to learn a little bit about gratitude and loyalty from this lion!

Cruelest??? no no no, they r not cruel its nature!!! Animals sometimes r like people, each one is unique.. im sure that if an animal is saved by a human can show gratitude, but some show them more than others... like humans, im sure that any animal in the whole world can show a human touch... And unfortunately people these days do not see that anymore, they see a wild animal and they see danger.. I agree with u on this, people need to learn what Christian taught us!!!
