  • Did anyone see the first man rub the lions schlong? Gross.

  • this is very touching story

  • t'was very very touching :))

  • Wow, is that the score for "Homeward Bound" I hear? If so, then PERFECT choice of music for this video. :)

  • Christian forever! - And Christian taught them loyalty - a rare gift indeed. What a wonderful lion he was - even now in Paradise.

  • life is beautiful indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful.

  • This is a true story ?

  • 100%

  • yup it is.

  • yes, it is a true story. the guys who took in Christian the Lion have been on TV ... they wrote a book recently detailing their story. there are even better videos on youtube about this story .... more footage.

  • Yes :)

  • /watch?v=fFH0khjgA0U

  • This is just lovely and so affecting. It really shows the emotion that binds all members of the animal kingdom, (including Man), regardless of the species. I don't understand the ugly comments by some youtube posters to this really touching story. This lion is more human than they are. This is a heartbreakingly touching moment and story. I despair of people who must belittle and mock something so loving to feel big and clever about themselves.

  • yeah, i actually think you maybe right flatpacking

  • how was they able to stroke the other lion right at the end? surely that was wild, i mean nevr had human contact, or have i missed something, utterly amazing video.

  • I think that because the other lion saw that Christian was showing so much confidence and faith and Love in the two guys then he or she thought - this is Ok for me too.

  • Two of my three dogs have died now, Jazz and Sam, and I'm afraid, and I don't know really why it is, and I suppose perhaps it should't be, but I miss them more than most of the humans I have lost.

  • i don't fed up watching this video. I am very touched that a wild animal never forget to love back his two true friends.

  • christian the lion was not found for you guys who dont know, he was purchased by these two gentlemen at Harrods department store in london in 1969 in order to release him. you could actually buy a lion from a london department store all the way till 1969 and who knows how long after

  • today i heard the story of christian the lion for the first time. i have never had a story touch my heart as this one did. christian appears to sincerely love these men. it was so sweet that he was rescued when a cub and was given a good life but then so sad to know that he has passed away now. (i am assuming so since it was so long ago and they never found him again). i hope christian knew they loved him instead of thinking they abandoned him when they first left him in africa.

  • this is such an amazing story about friendship between humans and an animal. This always makes me cry. Real friendship is the best thing that can happen to you and it lasts forever.

  • Very true in what you say friend.

  • After 16 years,Pippo my friend's dog is died.With sincerely love,R.I.P Pippo

  • anyone want to chat

    SOMEONE TALK TO ME ry

  • lets chat

  • This story is awe-inspiring.mutual respect and understanding;and love.*****

  • Aw, this made me so happy :) Love Christian, I love cats wild and domestic, love um love um love um :P

The music was perfectly timed. Love Homward bound as well :P

    xx

  • The sincere love,without interest...

  • the cat family (I have 6) are exquisite, astonishing and supremely divine.

  • You have no idea how much that depresses me

  • from what movie is the song on 1,17? i dont remember the name of it

  • i know its kind of lame... but is it airbud?

  • its from homeward bound - the movie with the two dogs and cat which are trying to get home

  • ye thanks :p

  • Please buy the dvd of the whole story.

Sonofkripton put it to music so wonderfully which prompted me to buy the dvd which was well worth every penny! Happy viewing!!

  • i have seen his video many times i like it cuz i am animal lover

  • So what is so unexplainable? Animals have memory, they know who is who... Damn nice Lion and i bet thous people took damn good care of him!

  • io cried

  • Excellent!!!! what else could I possibly say......? Utmost touching!!!!!

  • cute video!

  • this has got to be one of my fav videos evr!

  • it

    is so sweet

  • I am such A BIG cat lover and this is just an amazing story!! Makes me cry!! Someone once told me that cats don't have feelings or love their owners, they just want to be feed ,and have a warm place to sleep!! I beg to differ!! I know my Kittys love me as I do them!!!

  • this is so loving my sister sent this to me on myspace and i started crying.

  • Amazing humans-amazing animals

    where are they now

  • Please 'search' -- 'Interview John Rendall'--there are 2 interviews, 'Today Show' and an Australian talk show with John Rendall and Ace Bourke, today, 35 years after this documentary was filmed.

  • amazing!!!! so emotional!!! love u Christian!!!!

  • while the previous poster uses the phrase "dangerous creature", i wonder.

humans have probably killed 10,000 lions for every human killed by lions..

i wonder, with that in mind, who are the killing machines? who are the dangerous creatures?

    i wonder.

  • 10,000 to 1???

im thinking more along the lines of 10 million to 1

    maybe more

  • quite possibly...

i was being conservative for youtube..

    i would happily defer.

point remains who the dangerous creature is.

    thanks.

  • The dangerous creature is us, human beings. We do more to harm animals and their habitat than we should. This video is a true inspiration and as far as lions being dangerous, from what I read they hunt to survive and would only attack if their welfare or the welfare of their family is threatened.

  • yes, that was the point i was making.

    agreed.

(same is true of sharks and bears and tigers too, they have some sort of ferocious reputation, meanwhile it is humans that have killed them by the millions.)

  • hink about how our lives would knowthat euty.

  • some people just speak before they think.

  • This story is so remarkable in the sense that this beautiful but dangerous creature still remembers the love he was shown by two men.

    Truley amazing!! I love it!!

  • LOVE

  • christian is now my screensaver and im honoured. To any person who thought he wasnt a male research the picture of him with george in the "father of lions" a beautiful, magnificent creature his head must be 4 times the size of george with a mane that is superb. god bless you lovely christian

  • omg this is amazing! this really touched my heart. So beautiful I love animals. This lion was extraordinary...<3

  • This touched my heart in a way I haven't felt ever before. I have tears pouring down my cheeks now. It is so beautiful, love. Christian was one remarkable and affectionate person. Yes, I say persion because he showed his intelligence and his feelings, he was his own. Just beautiful.

  • Es simplemente hermoso ver algo asi.Para las personas que amamos los animales estas imágenes nos llenan de alegría y ternura.

  • I forgot to let u know cat kenny is 2 years old and 4 month.

  • thanks , I feel very touching.after watched this movie i want to introduce a cat,his name is kenny, he is not a home cat. I know him when he was born .I play with him. I love him much . he lost and back and lost again. recently after he lost two weeks he back when i saw him ,he run to me and his head touch me and touch my leg and then hands he like I massage for him ^^, he is lovely. he like follow me when see me.later I may up load his movies here. thanks again

  • This is truely amazing and wonderful :-)

  • Brings a tear to my eye everytime! Such a lovely story! x

  • it was so touching and made me cried,

  • Very nice, 5* -

    thanks MARINOS for sharing

    Carlinhos

  • this is wonderful! Just wonderful. I am in tears everytime I see it.

  • absolutely amazing~ just shows what kindness and love will do not only to humans, but our 4-legged friends as well. this is an extremely uplifting video of a love beyond our belief. i never expected this. thanks for posting~

  • this brought tears to my eyes, pure true love and respect. could the world use a bit more. go home and hug someone you love, smile at the guy who cuts you off in traffic and remember the greatest gift is love. give often.

  • every time i see this i cry,i would love too meet this two amazing gentlemen.

  • Amazing video very touching indeed.

  • how is this video? looks like from the 80;s?

and just only aired on 2008??

    it was touching

  • Inmensamente sorprendente, un tributo a la amistad sin fronteras, ni razas.

  • The only problem is that habitats are quickly dwindling due to human occupation. The one upside to reputable zoos is their invaluable education of the general public. They enable people to appreciate animals by seeing them upclose and learn about their situation in the wild, in a way that pictures on a screen can't do. Every person that's inspired to change their views and behaviours towards bettering the life of animals in the wild is important and I think good zoos play a large role in this.

  • I agree with educating the masses to appreciate, admire and learn about all animals.

But poor or old zoos with small and cramped spaces for any animal should be outlawed.

why do we pay atheletes millions to pop a ball in a net and we cannot fund more to our fellow animals on this earth?

  • hello ribreadandballet - I still think about Christian and his man parents. what a love story. I wonder did Christian miss them as I am sure they missed him?

I guess I have too much motherly instinct in me

I am a big wooze with anything to do with animals. I cry at the beer Busch commericials

  • good video but slooww.... fast forward, fast forward, fast forward...

  • aww what a cutie at 0.48!

  • THIS VIDEO IS TO SHOW THAT GOD GAVE A SOUL AND A HEART TO ALL THE LIVING CREATURE ON EARTH. IN THAT BIG HEART THE LION WAS ABLE TO TREASURE THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES. THIS IS HOW HE WAS ABLE TO REMMBER THEM. gREAT VIDEO!!

  • Well said...We ALL have a link to one another...Man and Beast.

While hunting for food is one thing, to hunt for sport and trophy is not respecting what God has given to us.

Regardless of our opinion, we will be judged as to how treated ALL of Gods children. Man & Beast.

RIP Christian for your link in this world made it a better place.

Thank you to these two men for their compassion.

RIP to George, for you lived what you spoke.

    Peace

  • this music doesnt work with the story AT ALL!

  • actually, the music does.. Its from homeward bound (you know the movie thats about two dogs and a cat that get lost but find their way back to the beloved people).. so in that sense, it kind of does :)

    This vid is so cute!

  • what scene is it from?

  • I loved the Whitney houston rendition for his reunion. boy was that dead on.

I love her voice and that song is perfect and then that magnificent creature recognising his former friends. I better stop I'll be crying again.

  • whats that?

  • this video is the most touching one I have viewed in years. I cried like a baby and I am not one bit embrassed to say that.

I love the bond of love between these men and the Christian.

It is that unspoken love shown by this magnificent creature.

    wonderful!

    thank you

  • i cried sooooo hard when i saw this! it is so not embaressing to say.. im proud that i have a heart and so does l51martin...

  • I guess we all had a good cry. way to go.

I had the good fortune to hold a baby lion cub years ago and I was amazed at his strength and beauty.

I wish these magnificient animals would be left alone to live in our world without man sticking them in a cage.

thank goodness these 2 great guys had the courage to rescue him and then give him the life he deserved.

  • I fully agree! it hurts when you see amazing creatures locked up for us to see..... if we want to look at animals go on the internet for pics or go and visit them in their own habitat. I do like those rescue zoos where they find a animal in need of help and then when they are better they release them into the wild...

  • Yes rescue zoos are wonderful and are needed. I agree. But I hate to see animals degraded in any way, another one is a circus. I do not see one good reason to still have them. clowns are scary also!

  • It's actually John Rendall and Ace Berg.

  • I think that the "Christian The Lion" videos and pics are all amazing. Love is trully unconditional, many people should take an example from the story. It's true that animals are much better than human most of the time.

  • "he most sincere hug is given by those who do know how to speak"

    True!!!!!

    amazingggg

  • I can't get enough of these videos of Christian! I cry at every one I watch. They're beautiful.

I hope John and Andrew kept in touch with him after their intial visit. Does anyone know if they did? That was a love story that's everlasting, I doubt Christian would ever forget them.

According to the video, it's almost been 40 years since they first got him. Don't know how long lions live, but surely he can't still be around, unfortunately.

  • I can't get enough of these videos of Christian! I'm still crying. They're beautiful! I hope John and Andrew "kept in touch" with him. Does anyone know if they did, or what happened to Christian? I mean, it's been almost 40 years since they got him.

  • Amazing, we only need to give animals a chance and be compassionate not kill them for no reason. They can show a lot of us what real love is.

  • fake

  • NOT fake.

  • This made me cry!!! Humans being the superior most species of all animals could never learn to love this way!

  • Everyone should realize animals have true feelings too!!! They sense kindness and truly good people with powers people could never understand...We should free ALL captive animals into the wild and give them their land back so we could all live in harmony like the old days....

  • Wait until he's gets hungry...

  • oh ya yup true to that man.

  • I'm gonna go home and hug my 17 year old lap cat. She greets me every day just like the lion met these guys.

  • love have no boundry....so sweet....

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Every time I see this beautful video I cry each time. Also this video was on The Today show this morning on NBC

  • that's where i saw it 2. nice to see something positive for a change

  • Talk about tears? I went through a whole box of kleenex. Here I say I won't watch anymore (watched the Whitney Houston version), and I can't stop. Wonderful, abousoulty wonderful.

Thanks, guys. Okay, added to favorites. Time to attend to my animals, (walked all the dogs for almost 2 miles last night)- feeding time.

Oh I wish I had the land for lions or a tiger- maybe a bear- for sure llamas and sheep- just for wool- I'd name them all, could never be food. All pets. Someday........Peace.

  • Oh yes! I tell others that if there is a heaven...who needs streets of gold and mansions....give me all the animals to care for and I will be eternally grateful!

  • Saw this today on The View and had to join you tube, just so that I could see this wonderful video. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. Share this with everyone you know, especially those who don't like animals or those who hunt them. Let them know animals do have feelings. Love them don't kill them.

  • i also saw this on The View with Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You. It braught tears. Wasn' it beautiful!? I also agree, Love them don't kill them!

  • i love watching this

  • i love this video :D

  • So beautiful:) Can't stop crying

  • It's the most incredible video I have ever seen. I love cats and this video touched my heart. I cried when I saw it.

  • This is the best video I have ever seen. It just shows that animals do know how to express love and friendship! Even after being seperated they still remember, very heart touching!!

  • i thought it was gonna eat the guys

  • lmao i did too. but it was a great story 4real love knows no boundaries

  • amazing.

  • It touched me deeply, I could't hold back my tears. Thanks.

  • It is fantastic that Christian was returned to his natural home. These two men gave him a wonderful life and he did not forget. An amazing story of rescue and heart.

  • incredible video...it moves all my feelings

  • 非常感動, 眼淚止不住的流出來. 謝謝.

  • Can you translate to English?

  • 非常感動, 眼淚止不住的流出來.

  • After seeing this video I will never hunt another living thing. It moved my soul and I'm an atheist

  • hey atheists have a soul also, we just don't think its related to a god inspired idea.

I am so happy you won't hunt another living thing.

I am an atheist and I love all living things.

  • WOW!!

  • *cry* this is the kinda video that just warms the soul :_)

  • Wow how weird is it that in Homeward Bound-the incredible journey as they were playing this music Shadow stopped for a second and so did Chrisitan. Then they all like hugged. It's like he memorized it perfectly.

  • Aww.......how precious and wonderful is that! That just proves that animals can remember things! No one can tell me that animals don't remember people & how they helped them! Animals have hearts & minds too, so they WILL remember you! I loved this video! The music is perfect too, since it's from Homeward Bound!

  • I need another box of kleenex.

I love all animals, but I am a Leo,

so lions have a very special place in my heart.

They are the first I go to see at the zoo, to see how they are doing.

  • just amazing.

  • OMG!! He brought his wife to meet them too!! And she let them pet her as well. How wonderful. I love this story, it's so amazing!! Thanks for sharing.

  • simply amazing to see. i have now researched all about george adamson and am truly amazed. makes me want to pack up and go do something more with my life other then sitting at this boring desk job. wow. thanks for posting

  • I want to thank you so much for sharing these videos. I REMEMBER these guys being world news and getting interviewed for some PBS show. I hadn't thought about Christian the lion in years. Just loved this. Thank you!

  • is that really a lion? why does he have spots?

  • Lion cubs are born with spots and grow out of them over a year to two years. It's nature's camouflage.

  • oh ok. thanks!

  • does anyone know if the two guys who raised him are still around? I would LOVE to hear more of the story! The clothes and hairstyle say "70's" to me.... I just think its so awesome!!

  • It brought tears to my eyes! I loved it!

  • Does anyone know the music??? It was all put together so well.

  • Thanx... the music is the main theme from the movie "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey"

  • that movie was soooo boring....

  • Yeah but the music was OK!!

  • this made me smile and it feels like i havnt smiled for ages

  • oh gad, this is just beautiful, i'm crying =')

  • haha i did too. =D

  • Can see I'm not the only one to have an emotional and tearful response. This is just beautiful. Thank you.

  • I am moved by this clip.We had a nice and well behaved boy at our home(Spencer, the German Sheperd)He used to behave exactly like Christion. He ate with us ,played with us,slept with us and shared his anger with us.Three months back he passed away. But the feelings never die and we live the moment with the Christion.

  • I´ve had a little weep too! Can´t believe it touched me so much!?!? Just wish it could have the same effect on the whole world - we all need to hug, learn friendship and love - sounds corney..but it´s true.

  • i'm a 24 year old man...

and i was crying at the end of this clip

tell me i'm not the only one

  • Im 25 years old, jejejejejej beat ya... I still cry when i see it!!!

  • gods beautiful creation.

  • well,i think this vid is pretty good,as there are more details, but there's another video that makes it more special with its song, even though there isnt much detail..only the lion running back to their arms..but it's the one by swedenlover..the 1.35 min one..it's lovely..

  • aw i love when he's coming down the hill. he's like "no way...is that them?!" and starts running towards them!

  • This is such an awesome video, one of the best yet. I love this story. How loyal animals. This touched my heart and made me cry...so precious! Thank you for sharing!

  • No problem glad u like it!!!...

  • Cry again... watching this!

  • Is the soundtrack of the movie "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey"...

  • I looooove this lion! wow!! wow! and he is so cute!

  • I love Christian and his story, but not this video. Because this video says that these guys "teach Christian friendship". Christian is about universal love, and how it transends all, not about "humans teaching animals things". If you've read the story, you know that what is special is how Christian knows his friends are coming before they arrive and waits for them. He waits for his loved ones and then shows that love is universal in their last meeting. The other Christian videos are much better.

  • Dude, friendship means being friends right??? and what does a friend feel for another friend??? LOVE, thats what this video is about... I dont understand your point!!!. I Just think u did not like the video. Because what u r saying does not make any sense.. LOVE is what this video is all about...but OK opinions r respected!!!

  • While I love this video for the images I do agree with you. I think instead of saying they taught Christian love, it would've been more accurate to say that the 3 found true friendship & that they showed Christian the love that he had been denied until then & because of their *showing* him love, their unbreakable friendship came to be.

Sonofkripton, try to understand that the one line about *teaching* Christian love sends a message that isn't accurate to their story. That's all sam meant. :)

  • 1:53 "Average guys, simple to our eyes you can say. But they taught Christian something very speial." Was it the guys who taught Christian, or Christian teaching us all a lesson about the love that can blossom even in the heart of the wildest of animals??

  • Of course Christian taught us something to, but i think these guys where a great influence, think about it, what would happened if Christian wasnt raise by them, u really think he would turn out the same way??? i dont think so...

  • The two guys are amazing. I agree. If it wasn't for what they did, that lion wouldn't have turned that way. But think about it, the outcome is that we see one of the cruelest animals on Earth showing a soft heart, and that is what's so different about it. There are humans who need to learn a little bit about gratitude and loyalty from this lion!

  • Cruelest??? no no no, they r not cruel its nature!!! Animals sometimes r like people, each one is unique.. im sure that if an animal is saved by a human can show gratitude, but some show them more than others... like humans, im sure that any animal in the whole world can show a human touch... And unfortunately people these days do not see that anymore, they see a wild animal and they see danger.. I agree with u on this, people need to learn what Christian taught us!!!

  • uuuff I cry ...
