  • the bear xD

  • lol is that bleaks way or w/e that towns called at the start the town for that deadric quest

  • I can't remember the name of the area, sorry.

  • oblivion has amazing graphics but if ya look away you cant see details at my-so no gras (not so far away!) and thats what is annoying for me...

  • If you're talking about the constant level of detail streaming and draw distances of the objects, perhaps this guide can help you achieve the look you'd like...

    tweakguides[dot com]/Oblivion_1.html

    Thanks.

  • Ah Nick Drake~

  • such good graphics

  • This is true.

  • This is how I discovered Nick Drake. Thank you for introducing me to this genius.

  • No problem at all :). Glad you liked him.

  • Is he walking on water?

  • Beautiful

( I know why you had silver sword in your hand. it shines very much in the sun makes it look beautiful

  • Stunning. Amazing. Gorgeous. Exemplification of true beauty. Running out of adjectives.

Anyway, that's just beautiful. I'm building a new computer(hopefully soon) and I really hope I can achieve that quality, or higher.

  • Wow, those are bold adjectives :). Thank you for your kind words!

    Good luck with the build!

    Thanks for watching.

  • hahaha no problem man. =)

  • why is everything glowing that bright?

  • omg underwater is awesome!!!!!!

  • its beutiful although in shitty qaulity althou you must love playing oblivion now huh?

  • oh my jesus, that's beautiful!!!

  • Thanks!

  • hey i got an HP laptop with these specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz,

    3 GB RAM,

Ge Force 9600 with 512 MB dedicated memory,

    Full HD resolution,

on which settings will game run,and how well???

  • it will run on low, med details

  • it will run on max in 1280x768 resolution

  • i have an 8800 gts ssc, but still cant get AA and HDR, any suggestions?

  • One common way is to enable HDR in Oblivion, and to enable AA via your card's driver. NVIDIA /ATI control panel, whatever you have :) Catalyst for example offered the AA option.

  • Well, bad luck. I failed. Only thing that remains is to reinstall my Vista. I have no intention to delete any of my files so I'll keep looking on the Internet... Thanks anyways...

  • Oh yeah, if I may ask, what program did you use to record this video?

  • You may ask. It was recorded with FRAPS.

  • I have Windows Vista and plug-ins on MY Oblivion don't work at all. I mean, they appear under "Data" on Launcher screen, I select them but they don't work. As if they don't exist on my comp. So, has anyone or you experienced this problem and do you know a solution for it?

  • I haven't experienced that before, no. I'm not using Vista but I don't see why that would be a problem? Perhaps check the installation instructions for the mods you are trying to use? Some of the more complex ones have specific installation needs above and beyond simply placing the .esm file into the base directory... like adding additional mesh and texture files into other directories.

That's the only think I can think of, but as you sound pretty competent I'm guessing that's not it...

  • Thanks for your opinion. And yes, you're right, it's not it. I don't think that ALL of my plug-ins require mesh and texture files. I even made few of them in Construction Set and, surprisingly, they don't work. And what is confusing me more is that the plug-ins worked 5 days ago and today they don't work. Funny, right? I don't even remember when did it happ--

You know what, I just got an excellent idea how to repair it. Thanks a lot, by the way.

  • You can get AA with hdr but you must change settings in graphic.I have 16 aa with hdr but only 8xxx cards you can this option

  • How do you get AA with HDR on at the same time.

  • Joshua, you'll need an Nvidia 8 series card. At the time of the game's release AA+HDR wasn't possible, which is why you have to choose between them in the game's options. There was a "hack" for ATI video card drivers called the Chuck Patch which enabled it, but HDR+AA is possible simply as part of the 8800 architecture. The 8800GT is a great card at the moment...

  • Holy F where'd that bear come from lol

  • LOL Jyrmi. That's what went through my mind also. I hadn't planned on its appearance, but the ragdoll was so nice that I rolled with it :D.

  • were did u get thay mod and how big is it

  • @ fukmenw.

Many mods are being used here. The main contributors are the Natural Environments mod and the Better Water mod. My friend gave me these a long time ago, I'm sure there have been many similar and perhaps better mods since. Try "TES Nexus" dot com.

Also many of the game's graphical capabilities have been "forced" using tweaks. Such as enabling more complex water reflections. Tweakguides dot com has an extensive guide on this.

  • What graphics mods do you have installed?

Im planning on getting a Toshiba Satellite A215:

    1.8 Ghz AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core

    2048MB DDR2 SDRAM

    ATI Radeon® X1200 128MB-319MB shared graphics memory

Anyone think Ill have any trouble running Oblivion with that? Doubt itll look this good but I can always hope.

  • Just get a new graphics card

  • get a 3 ghz quad core then you will run on 12 ghz and 8ram no 2

  • i don't care who disagrees, but this game is the most beautiful game of all time. sure other games beat in graphics wise, but no game that i've ever seen looks as good as the view at about :32

    simply amazing

  • so, so beautiful

  • i dont know dut hdr is better

  • what is the diferance betheen HDR and bloom lighting?

  • HDR is better thats newer i think bloom is old

  • Man, since I'm assuming you have XP, it must be worth playing. I have Vista, and the landscape doesn't render until I get close to it, and I have an 8800 GTX.

  • hes got ghraphical mods installed!

  • It's wierd, Gothic 3 looks much better than Vanilla Oblivion, but w/ mods and HDR/AA Oblivion looks better.

  • whats the name of the song

  • Saturday Sun by Nick Drake

  • thanks

  • you can enable hdr almost on every good graphic card!

  • First person view is claustrophobic.

  • i agree, i like 3rd person much better

i guess youtube wont let you upload videos that are real high quality, if they did, it'd be great. but i can tell that graphics must be awesome with that setup

  • nice graphics,and perfect music

  • i could even smell the trees from here

  • Wasn't a bear, was a man in a bear suit..lol

  • wow you killed that bear with a single stroke!

  • GOOD.

  • NICK DRAKE FTW!!!

  • that was wierd how the bear was invisible... but anyways great vid and i hope they never come out with a game that is completely realistic cause it takes some of the fun out of playing it...oblivions awesome though!!!(cant wait to see what #5 is gonna look like if they ever come out with one)

  • the bear is just a minor part of a quest when every1 is invisible...so..that not wierd

  • Man i have the same graphics effects on my GF7600 !!!

  • and I on my X1800GTO :d

  • A little LOD tweaking to reducing the on screen popping and that will look awesome.

  • I think the popping is youtube/recording artifacts. LOD is set up quite well on oblivion.

  • Thank you sir. :)

  • Lol I don;t care about the walk on water thing from the gameplay, I care about the absolutely stunning graphics! And of those the out-standing music. Who sings this song?

  • The late great Nick Drake. The track is Saturday Sun off the Five Leaves Left LP.

  • awesome nice and bright just like the 360 version

  • OHHHHHH i want one!!!

  • You owned that bear!

  • Very nice :) I'm gettig my 8800GTX in 4 days hopefully ;)

  • Is HDR + AA possible with the G80?

  • Yes Hdr =aa is in the g80

  • İts too expensive ;(

  • very nice graphics but you know you can experience REAL trees blowing in the wind... just by going outside. lol jk jk.

  • tape this with a digital camerea. youtube cannot definately show the full potentinal of ur game

  • you cant tell the difference between 360 and this because its on youtube. Can one have high resolutions on the 360?

  • looks good though

  • xbox 360 looks exactly like that

  • not. Just compare the 360 and the PCC one with an 8800 and Max Tael's environment mod

  • I'm getting a 8800GTS too! (and E6600 - overclocking fo sho!)

My 19¨ LCD only goes to 1280x1024 and if I get a 20¨ Widescreen, i'll still be stuck at 1680x1050 which is isn't quite 1080p :(

Anyway, I might get Oblivion just because it looks so pretty!

  • You can push it to 1600x1200 with these settings without a slowdown

  • whats with the music?

  • nice...I am getting an 8800gts around christmas. (yes, i know, not a gtx, but those are just too expensive right now)

  • Wowowow

    Very nice indeed.

    Nice song too!

  • wow.. congrats man , i just orderd a pny 8800 GTX can't wait !

  • LOL funny shit i love the bear death LOL looks so real, GEES man what specs do u have, after seeing this vid i want to get this game now LOL, i will need a definate upgrade though LOL

  • Great video! I seen already a few people are jealous eg: MTheory720195! congrads wit your gaming!

  • That's because it needs a top spec. You're just crying because you can't afford one.

  • Wats the big fuckin deal about Oblivion? it would have to be the most demanding pc game of 2006, & yet on 1280x1024 with full graphics running on X1800 it looks very average. Oblivion sucks period.

  • Just ordered a new Pc - Dual Core 6600 MoBo 2 Gig Of DDR2 ram and an Nvidia 8800 gtx for £1300 should last me a while look forward to vista and DX10 :p

Good Video Btw very nice music very fitting of the game as well :)

  • I'm looking to buy a powerful PC, where do you buy your hardware?

  • Spikekid, as a guess, you could probably get everything (including the graphics card) for around £1000. That includes CPU, motherboard, RAM, hard drive and case.

Magipablo, good luck with your build! The G80 will work wonders on today's games, but should also serve you well for a while to come.

sonofhendrix, thank you for your well thought-out and highly constructive critcism, i don't think. The point is that this is a game. Try killing a giant, invisible bear in real life!

  • whats the point, i could go and stand out side in the garden and see much better graphics.

  • beautiful graphics. i cant wait to start building my g80 rig

  • @ Charlie - Thanks! Yes i used FRAPS, and indeed it does kill FPS! I can bump the res to 1600 and still get much smoother frames when playing normally.

Spikekid, the rest of the rig was an AMD X2 @ 2.65GHz, 2GB DDR500, DFI Ultra-D mainboard etc. I can't really tell you how much it cost because i built it myself, and it uses parts from several upgrades ago and the values of everything will have changed. The 8800GTX though was nearly £500 :S.

  • Wow, you must have a good job. Give me just an estimate please.

  • Wow that's an amazing computer you have there. What's the other spec and how much did it cost?

  • Thanks for this great video! Just a question: have you recorded the game with FRAPS? If that's so, then it means you can play at much higher settings (because FRAPS eat's much FPS).

    Thanks!
