I need to make my own set of runes. Right I'm using a set that I bought at an occult store. What are they usually made out of? Wood? stone?

Either will do.

I prefer wood - I burn the Staves on them.

Cool, I may have to do that. Now, do you use wood chips or do you use branches that you find and cut in a certain way?

I cut the branches into circular discs & leave the bark on them. You can also cut them at a slight angle; giving them an oval shape, this comes in handy for small branches.

I then stain them with Red Ochre powder mixed with boiled Linseed Oil. You can add some of your Blood too !

I apply the stain *after* the burning process of course !
