atleast in the pictures they look like small kunais shurikens are mostly stars though theres spikes etc but i think those are small kunais but called shurikens because it sounds cooler and is usually more associated with ninjas than kunais those are usually more known to narutards...but ill just call em shurikens :P
Well from what l know, shuriken are all the throwing weapons including kunais. So a kunai is a shuriken but not vice versa. That the shurikens are associated more with the stars is bad translation or so. That's all l know. :p
yeah thats true as in some stuff they show people specialized in this and its called shurikenjutsu and iirc they throw other stuff too not just the stars.

Shuriken. Kunai are larger and heavier, thus cannot be thrown like Shuriken are meant for.
