@MuseSkate Lots of information out there on the net and various forums on how to do it on a non rooted phone. To get started type "Complete Comprehensive Tutorial on Custom Boot Animations" into google and read the first post that comes up. It's pretty easy actually!

yes, as far as I know you can only perform this on a rooted phone.
