  • What was the car directly after the view liners? Also, I have taken several trips (in Superliner Roomettes), are the view liners something to try?

  • GREAT!!!!!!!AWESOME VIDEO PLEASE SUB

  • I had a sleeper car on this train :)

  • has there ever been a time a train has..."Overshot" the station platform? like failed to brake in time lining up the train with the station?

  • are the sleepers usually at the front? when I was on 97 to FL and 92 from FL they were on the end.

  • Do you have to step up that high?

  • amtrak super kary

  • So Amtrak didn't bother you for filming here? Hopefully they didn't care.

  • Deerfield Beach is one of the most friendly Amtrak stations in South Florida. Many of the Amtrak employees that work there know who I am and don't have a problem with me filming.

  • The crossing is Hillsborough Blvd.

  • This is one of the new stations built by FDOT for the Tri-Rail commuter service. FDOT bought the line from CSX from West Palm to Hialeah and added a 2nd track.

  • I like the Viewliner sleepers better than the Superliner cars, the viewliners have your own sink and toilet . They are only on trains to /from Penn NY due to low clearance in NE corridor tunnels.

  • superliner sleepers offer your own sink and toilet depending on what room you get

  • The bedrooms do give you your own sink/toilet but If I'm alone it's alot cheaper to get a roomette. I have been pretty lucky as the toilet is not far and the attendants keep them clean and leave cans of lysol in there. There are also plenty on the lower level where the shower is.

  • My folks lived in Boca from the 80's to the late 90's. I took the Train from Penn to this station many times. First time with a heritage slumber coach.

  • I hope the best for Amtrak as well as the prospect for high speed rail in America. political forces have not been kind to either the past few decades. Maybe it will change now. I love rail travel.

  • I like long train trips, so I hope they *won't* implement too much high-speed rail. At least it would be exceeedingly expensive to do so. Bring on the several day train rides!

  • We need both. But for the continued success for all rail, the attitude in the US has to shift; understanding that mass commuter services are not all about profit. Politicians have wacked Amtrak in the knees for years.

As far as long rides, I would love to take the Zephyr from Cali to Chicago some day!

  • Ok. I'll agree to that we do need both. Perhaps the standard diesel trains could become cruise ship-esque, in that the trip is at least half the fun. Make them more luxurious than the high-speed trains, so they could be an option for vacationers with time on their hands.

BTW, I too dream of taking the Zephyr. Though, since I live in Atlanta, I'd be taking it west. :)

  • I took the Zephyr to Reno last summer. Good ride considering the BNSF flood damage near the Missisippi. The trip from Denver to Grand Jct. is th best part.

  • I suggest to do what I did: ride it as far as Reno and rent a car. I know Donner pass is great to cross but there are many delays on the capitol corridor between Emryville and Sacrm. Also you can stay at Lake Tahoe before you drop down into the CA . Central Valley. Reno is now in a ditch to get rid of all the downtown RR crossings.

  • I have been to Deerfield station and last i took the amtrak to Philadelphia with my friend and stay there for two days.Great video and i'm glad you like trains like i do too.

  • Very nice vid cool, wish we got more than Crescent here in Bham,AL, but cool nice vid.

  • Thanks!

  • Holyd like they went into emerg..

  • Good job. P091 got into Hwd. Sta. @ 5:22 PM. That's pretty good time from Deerfield Bch. I had to stop for it on my way to Downtown Hwd. to catch 222 which rolled through @ 5:30 PM.

  • Thanks! I usually don't get 91 running early to on time often, but I have recently.

  • we took one of the silver trains 10 years ago and it took SEVEN HOURS from Alexandria to Richmond due to a CSX speed restriction.. 7 hrs for a 2 1/2 hr trip!
