  • I like the animation it is awesome so awesome.

  • @PhilLovesThrash it is really hard to say the current global warming trend fit in to past cycle..even if the earth is really naturally rising temperatures, human also taken a role in it to worsen the situation..

  • Thank you for making this wonderful tool, google!

  • More proof Google is the most badass company in the world.

  • So... should we try to conserve trees and rainforests more than curb CO2 emission?

Sad that people are denying global warming just because it's convenient for them to do so.

  • @eatcarpet People are denying MAN MADE global warming because it is part of the planets cycle and there is nothing that can be done apart from prepare for rising sea levels.

  • @PhilLovesThrash How do we know it's not man made.

  • @eatcarpet It's part of a cycle which changes the earths weather patterns, we fit perfectly within that cycle now.

  • @PhilLovesThrash Are you a climate scientist.

  • @eatcarpet No, but how can climate scientists say that Carbon is causing global warming? They can't, really. Rather than putting the blame on us, why doesn't the government help evacuate low lying coastal areas?

  • Big opportunity to start a change. Google took action already... but change depends on us. Thanks Google! :)

  • My two favorite things on the Internet are Wikipedia and Google. :D

  • when one tree falls we should plant 10 trees and one wind fan to get the enegery + we need to make soler panals out of sand and the snow that melts we need to save it for drinking water and much much more ,

  • does itshow that money is the reason for all that wars and terror and ecology disaster?

  • Google should team up with nasa then team up with the venus project!

  • @albertoohogain its allready done

  • @NewsFreak42 Cool well it's all looking good so far.

  • @albertoohogain That's what I was thinking, haha!

  • @Watchdawg Yeah it all looks like the beginning stages of the resource monitoring system Jacque Fresco mentions in the Venus Project. Very exciting stuff!

  • Leave it to google!

  • I wonder if they took any photos of tree farms by accident.

  • i was the 49,000th view

  • 11 people are lumberjacks

  • That & are we really that selfish & self absorbed? We need to "save the planet", which might I add isn't going to go anywhere for a while, in order to prevent having even a possible inconvenience in the future. The only thing that makes this slightly more proactive is "keep a world for our kids to live in." We aren't thinking about ourselves, which is a start but, we are going to be killed off anyway. The planet has been through several shit storms, you think some plastic and CO2 is gonna killit

  • @supercoolninjayo

Isn't it arguable that the Earth has been saved from "shit storms" because something was done about it every time? And most of the "shit storms" were natural, not man made. Global warming and greenhouse gases are natural but the extreme degree to which we are pushing it is very unnatural.

  • @1point61803 Are meteorites normal? Do they happen often? In other words, are they natural? Natural doesn't just mean created by nature. What are there green house gases going to do? Hmm? Deplete the Ozone Layer correct? Well, then the human race is gone and the earth will fix itself. What about the theory of extreme weather conditions? Extreme freezing? Well, it made it through the ice age, did it not? It doesn't matter how far we push it, the earth is fine... The people are fucked.

  • @supercoolninjayo

I didn't really get your counter argument there but I'll attempt to understand your flawed logic.

First off, meteorites are normal. And they are natural. Problem?

Secondly, green house gases don't deplete the ozone layer. That's caused by CFCs, not carbon dioxide. Green house gases trap the suns energy and warm the Earth.

So you think it's totally fine for the human race to annihilate itself as long as Earth exists? I don't quite agree.

    Research, think, then reply.

  • @1point61803 I don't agree either but, what are we going to do? Apparently people don't want to try prolong their own race's existence, otherwise, this problem would've probably been eliminated. CO2 as well as acid emission is just one on the long list of very real fates of the human race. Most can happen and virtually anytime.

As for meteorites being "normal", maybe you and me don't see quite the same normal. If a young man has a heart attack, is that normal? It has happened before.

  • @supercoolninjayo

Many people try to prolong their own race's existence. Some people don't think that far ahead. Some fail to realize the danger of the situation. And others, like you, remain pessimistic and do nothing towards helping solve this problem. They just give up and complain before they even try.

Meteorites are normal. Heart attacks are normal. A young person having a heart attack is not uncommon. Actually, it happens all the time. I still don't get your point.

  • @1point61803 I just feel that we are so self important. I actually feel that the human race doesn't deserve to prolong any more time on here. The message itself however, is't what bothers me, though. If you want to save trees and animals, go for it. Comparing them to the rest of the human race, some of them are actually eons above the social norm. However, the majority that are trying to "saving the planet" seem to think the only thing that his country needs is more bike baths.

  • @1point61803 As for the "whats normal" part of the discussion, I generally go by the rule of thumb that, if I see it on the street and I don't even take the time to look, it is normal. Something that occurs once every several million years, I see as a little abnormal. Normal, referencing to non-artificial, is called natural... Maybe I am just so tunned into stagnant life style that my whole meanings of words change. Who knows, and frankly, who cares...

  • Really?

  • Because Its Not Google. BING

  • Oh the climate deniers won't like this one becasue they deny that all this is happening and man-caused.

  • WOW. Can I go three minutes without someone trying to brainwash me with this green shit?

  • @guitarplyr2255 that's so true mate!~

There is no global warming and screw greenies!

  • when you type youtube.com make sure you also type gift before the "you"

  • @BLADE4497 fuck off

  • @bobandnorman oh my god, i forgot how rude people are. Profanity shows ignorance my friend and you sir are part of the reason "man" can't get along.

  • @BLADE4497 I'm not the one making people go to a website to steal there information I'm I? your part of the reason why assholes like you are about I am only saying what's right ok spamming and stealing account is wrong you idiot

  • @bobandnorman 1. I did not steal this account

    2. don't complain about the spam in the first place if you can just flag my comment for spam

  • @BLADE4497 then wtf is the website?

  • Cut them all down.

  • fuck google

  • @DDDAAANNN888 Fuck google? your on a goodle channel saying fuck google? why type it in? and Google the best what do you use fucking bing?

  • @bobandnorman

I actually love google, you shuld read the first coment on my page b4 jumping to the conclusion that I hate Google.

  • @DDDAAANNN888 Then why say fuck google? I should view your channel? I rather shit in my hands and clap in all fairness

  • @DDDAAANNN888 Fuck you too bitch.. why watch or end up here? Go fuck ur self u fucking fagget..

  • Comment removed

  • @nior712 Wow. Over react to a joke why donot you

  • @DDDAAANNN888 Let's see "sir" are you using ie, chrome, or firefox?

  • Gaia. they shoudl rename it to Gaia.

  • Gaia.

  • Protect our future, Google. Thank you for your effort!

  • I'm joining google before they become world dominaters

  • Please, use this set of technologies also to Prevent fires ! That would save enormous quantities of trees around the world.

Real Time alerting System for fires is something that could help a lot in saving the world.

  • @bmatiasb No, forest fires are how forest grow. With out fires, you are disrupting nature.

  • @bmatiasb We actually need MORE forest fires. Our ecosystems are expecting fires once every few years. By preventing them, fuel builds up, and when a fire does get going, it burns hot and out of control and old hardy trees that would normally survive a moderate fire get destroyed. We are facing an overpopulation of trees in American forests right now due to trying to control the ecosystem.

  • @bmatiasb Actually, forest fires are part of natures cycle as the dead trees fertilize the new ones that replace them. But I get what you're saying. Fires near homes is bad, so that technology would be amazingly useful.

  • Fires were something that happened WAY before humans were even on this planet, they are NATURAL and GOOD. and they NEED to happen. if you want to prevent fires, then humans NEED to go through forests and thin and clean them, because thats what a fire does. If fires arent able to do their job, then we need to do it for them. But certain people won't let people like me do my job and tend to a forest, because they all seem to think that all we do is go ripping though there and demolish shit.

  • @bmatiasb

Not every forest fire is bad thing. In fact, most fires help clear dead brush, recycle nutrients into the soil, and start more coniferous trees growing. The most recent fires have been so bad because we haven't let nature take its course in clearing out forests naturally. Read into it and take an environmental science course...

  • @bmatiasb Except that fires are a critical piece of healthy forests. If you prevent every natural forest fire, you will have overpopulated forests with very unhealthy biosphere and ecosystem. (Do not take this to mean we should be lighting fire crackers in forests- notice "natural.")

What would be cool is using this to predict the course of fires, so we could have better response for where to build and to protect property in the path of a fire.

  • @bmatiasb Fires are, in many cases, an important part of the forest ecosystems. Preventing all natural fires can increase undergrowth levels that can lead to catastrophic firestorms.

  • just cool

  • that's ...awesome

  • I don't believe in man-made global warming. I do believe though that it is imperative to preserve our worldwide national heritage.

That's why I think that this a brilliant program, Google, be sure to add some more maps including here in Europe.

  • Carefully sidestepping the global warming nonsense with "consensus to save forests" ... based on what ?

  • Think about this. If deforestation accounts for more gh gas buildup than all the vehicles (cars planes etc) on planet earth combined, and humans contribute only a fraction of the total global greenhouse gasses, HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY THINK cars that go 30mpg instead of 25 mpg or using floresent bulbs is GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN CLIMATE CHANGE???

  • If google was so concerned with global warming they would not use a white background for their search screen etc. a dark or black screen uses a lot less electricity to display. FACT. shut up google or put up!

  • @wyattlisadana You're wrong.

"In fact in newer liquid-crystal display, or LCD, monitors white is actually slightly more energy efficient than black."

  • @joshbr100 that is the stupidest comment i've heard. it takes energy to display something bright that lights up a dark room. a dark screen does not light up a room. you might think about going home to mars.

  • Comment removed

  • @wyattlisadana

Type in "does a black background use less energy than a white background" on google and click the first link (the scientific american one). There's the proof.

  • @wyattlisadana lol, none sense, you don't know how LCD screen works right...? White color is achieved by letting all the light come through the screen, while back is just a matter of blocking the light, not shutting it off. Google it for more information.

  • @wyattlisadana It literally BLOWS MY MIND when I hear stuff like this. I have noticed that the ignorant people who spew our senseless garbage like this always portray there statements as incontrovertible, such as the word, "FACT" that this user so BOLDLY stated. On the contrary, I find the exact opposite attitude from those that post the more accurate & credible statements. They seem to be open to & encourage criticism. This has just been my observation & although it shouldn't, it frustrates me!

  • @sepanski83 blah blah blah. FACT: i listen to retarded people such as yourself and joshbr100 on a daily basis. i'm open to suggestion sure, but when someone says that it takes less energy to display a brighter white screen than a black screen it proves my point that most people would just like to argue just to get attention. i have a new lcd and a kilowatt meter that is why i said it dribble pants.

  • @wyattlisadana There is one type of LED back lighting tech that uses red, green, and blue led's that can dim the back light in the dark areas of the screen (this improves contrast). The VAST majority of LCD monitors use either a fluorescent or LED back light with manual brightness adjustment only. When a black screen is show it is simply the pixel attempting to block the back light. However, the energy saved by this is absolutely minuscule, plus VERY FEW monitors use this technology

  • stupid enviormentalists.

  • Google. A googol amount of awesome things.

  • @TeheRJ herp derp

  • GOOGLE, wat will u think of next...

  • is Google earth engine free download ???

  • Well, if responsible people actually work with this, it really might help to open eyes.

  • Google shall rule the World and I would have no objections

  • As always. Great Google!

  • Great job Google!

What about the forests ? /watch?v=FcfF_gTHcMo

  • Don't forget to offset all the carbon your datacenters produce Mr Google.

  • Why no HD?!

  • mmm

  • @defect530 if Google is going to do anything its going to take the minds of the human race, its going to become Sky Net.

  • @ajjr1228 or the umbrella corporation!

  • We Love Google

  • Probably the best piece of software on my computer.

  • great job google

  • Billiant.

  • he says forest weird.

  • How about identifying marginal fallow land in the U.S. where non-food crops like switchgrass (just a for instance) can be grown for biofuel production? It would prevent erosion, fix nitrogen, provide rural employment, help get us off foreign oil and free up food crops - now used for biofuel - for food and feed uses.

  • This is one of the reason why I love google.

  • cool♥

  • What's global warming?

  • @zunedog31 the world has been hotter than usual in recent and years and it keep getting hotter every year. If not stopped than we will all burn in 10 sec and the ice cap will melt and flood everything. Not many people still believe in it though so not many things are taking action.

  • @FalzarZ lol, im kidding. btw you are kind of wrong :)

  • @zunedog31 oh well

  • Great stuff Google.

  • global warming = ZIONISTS

  • @Hayaserforeveer

    Hayaserforeveer = moron

  • Whoa... ummm random question, what are plastic made of? Tree saps?

  • global warming not proven to be caused by humans... FACT although obviously this will genrally help rather than destory. so it's all good. i just don't like the fact they are basically say we cause gloabal warming when global warming happenes naturally and that without carbon dioxide the planet would be to cold for human development

  • @BenThomasFoster nah what your talking about is true. to an extent. through-out the years of the earth yes, temperatures have fluctuated. but never as drastic as the early 90's-present day. we don't cause global warming, but we sure as hell give it a helping hand.

  • @BenThomasFoster Bullshit.

We don't cause ALL the global warming, and that's true, but we are driving the process way out of control.

Ask to any proper climatologist, not to tea party freaks.

  • you are amazing, google.

  • amazing...was able to view re-afforestation in my village using Google....love it

  • Google <3

  • I ENDORSE GOOGLE

  • 1:32

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT THING?!!

Sure as hell wasn't a 'smart' phone!!

  • @Bacon676 its a smart phone by definition. most likely because it uses GPS

  • @Tariqghrayyib that doesnt make it a smartphone just cause it has gps

  • I wanna work for Google so bad! there like the best ever!

  • How did they old pictures of brazil etc?

  • Nice job Google!! Keep up the good work :)

  • i demand a satelite be dedicated to jessica alba's mountains so we can all enjoy them at our leisure

  • @thedarkone123123 We can't but google have invented something so we can it's called google images

  • thank you again google

  • hooo my god it not padipal

    god help us

  • oh Google and ur satellites

  • 2 people want the apocalypse to come in 2012

  • @LordRehaif it ended in 2012, it wouldnt be because of global warming, you moron.

  • I LOVE GOOGLE!!!

  • Idea for next project:

"Follow money trail" visualization platform where we could explore inter dependencies and relations of banks, governments and corporations? I am still wondering why it hasn't been realized yet.

  • What a great way to distribute total propaganda. Well done, Google!

  • @clannon And how you would you know if it's true or not?

  • Eh, i dont understand!

  • rad!

  • isn't the plant plankton the one that makes the most oxygen?

  • Adult forests, like the Amazon, consume ALL the oxygen they produce. Furthermore, theres no way to compare how high the dangers of burning oil are compared to the ones of burning forests. For example: when you use Ethanol on your cars, like more than half of brazilian vehicles does, instead of Oil made fuels, you're basically not polluting anything because the CO & CO2 you're emitting came from the atmosphere on the corn or sugar-cane fields where the fuels where planted.

  • @julinmorgan Yea. Here in Brasil, we mostly use Ethanol to power our cars.

  • @julinmorgan

Except when you burn the forests, the carbon stored in the trees and the soil is released into the atmosphere, and the trees aren't there to reabsorb them again. If you're destroying the forests to make space for growing ethanol crops, you're basically putting a huge chunk of carbon into the air before eventually becoming carbon neutral later.

  • please stop talking about global warming, because it doesn't exist.

  • somebody call john connor

  • GOOGLE IS SKYNET

  • @XlovesXtoXspoogeX not yet it isn't

  • Dude their are more trees on the planet now then when people wernt here

  • pleaseee help, im trying to download but it won't let me :( HELP! ANYONE!

  • @xJoolzroolzx Sorry to be rude, but, really, no one is going to help you here.

  • @xJoolzroolzx

    First ,

    -what is do you have?

-how much memory do you have?

-do you have a graphics card?

    -What browser are you using?

    Look at that.....

  • @xJoolzroolzx try downloading it on a different browser

  • LMAO @ 1:25 - 1:35

  • Awesome Google! Good job! :D

  • slowly taking over the world...

  • suuuuure... but whats in for them?

  • Free information available to the public? America wont like this!

  • Thumbs up for a simple search engine expanding and saving the earth

  • i didn't subscribe for this hippie stuff goddamnit!
