  • new technology old body style FUCK YA ! shit is sweeet

  • Nice car I want to do the same thing but cant figure out the paint I seen some black paints on other trans am and they dont look as good as yours so anybody help me choose between dark blue, white or black. Thanks

  • Firebird hands down is the best fucking name for a car.

  • Those numbers are way low for a ls2 with ported heads and a fast 102

  • damn it! these are new pants

  • modell of the year im like trans am

  • that looks like one really nice firebird

  • what kind of exhaust is that??

  • Comment removed

  • no way.. is tht a GTO engine in a Firebird??

  • @XxHeavyChevyxX : yes, and it fits perfectly.

  • @a10beav I bet it fits perfectly with lots of work and fabrication lol

  • @a10beav Very nice swap, is that an automatic or manual? hard to tell. My 89 GTA has an LS1 swap with LS6 intake patriot heads and many other goodies 425 to the back wheelz but yours gets a little more torque than mine. Still sexy though!

  • @mslevitz Thanks! It has a T-56. Sounds like you have a pretty nice ride yourself, those are good numbers.

  • @XxHeavyChevyxX No its not a GTO or Corvette Motor, but its the same motor that is in the GTO and Corvette.

  • what size rims and what kind are they

  • @durand1818: They are Ronal LZ's, 17x9 in front and 18x9.5 in back.

  • sounds badass, looks badass, nice rims. love the car

  • nice ride man hope mine is that nice someday

  • That was nice i wanna drive around in that car with my fist out the window in the air yelling POWER! lol

  • How did you get that strut tower brace to fit with your hood?

  • I didn't have to change anything, I just mounted it as far forward on the strut towers as possible. It is a snug fit.

  • @a10beav electronically, what was involved in the swap? where did you get the engine? how hard was it? etc.

  • btw, nice car, nice power. :)

  • quazimutato, its funny because an ls1 with the same blower can put down 700+hp...

    suck the dick BITCH

  • What a major letdown. My 2003 Cobra, with nothing more than a 2.2 Kenne Bell, bigger injectors, and a KB Boost-a-Pump puts down 570 rwhp.

  • your 03 cobra also has a blower on it

  • And its a little old 281. Your crapmaro is a 350.

Besides, my little 281 with a blower on it puts down over 160 more rwhp than the mighty 350. How sad.

  • quazimutato your too funny

  • actually, an ls2 is 364 ci not 350 :p

  • Your 281 without the supercharger only makes 305 hp from the factory where as the LS2 makes 400 from the factory

  • its an LS2 its a 6.0.....therefor not a 350....its actually bigger and its running on pure motor and one cam

  • Put that same blower onto the LS2 and it will blow your car away. Too bad fords need blowers to be fast tisk tisk

  • wow, you can used forced induction to make power? look what happens when chevy uses forced induction (zr1) I need not go into any details because im sure you get the point.

  • i saw this car in high performance pontiac

  • That is just stunning! Truly what the car should have come with from the factory. I would have left the GTO covers off though. Very nice!

  • Sounds awesome! Do you recall the RPM your figures were obtained at?

  • Thanks! It peaked around 6200rpm.

  • :")

  • i read the artical in the october issue of HPP and let me first say that this a very awesome modification, and your car looks really great like a jet......i'm planning on doing the some modification to my 88 firebird, ofcourse its not going to look the same as yours, my bird is flame red with the original formula bumbers and GTA style wing(keeping the whole stock look) but how much was it to do all that work? and did they tune it at the shop?

  • Thanks! The cost depends on how much you want to do to it, a few grand or a lot more. It was dyno tuned after the install.

  • It took about 3 months, but I took it to a shop for the conversion.

  • Just to be curious how much did it cost to do at the shop? parts and labor?

I was quoted 10k by one shop for an LT1 swap, so I would assume an LS2 would be a lot more.

  • The shop I used charged $60 per hour, but the overall cost depends on how much you want to do. Keep the stock k-member, upgrade other parts, etc. I did a lot more than just an engine swap. Check out Hawks 3rd gens, they've done several and it will take them less time.

  • So what was your overall cost? And I asked Hawks they said 10k for a LT1 swap.

  • Sorry, I'm not going into the cost of my car. An LS2 conversion takes the same amount of work as the LT1, but it may cost more just because it's a newer engine and computer. Did Hawks cost include the engine and parts? Try researching parts prices yourself and get an install/labor quote.

  • They included parts and engine. But its okay if you dont wanna go into the cost, im not planning on doing it. Even if i did all the work it would be at least 5k or 6k, and thats still too much for me.

  • so how long did it take to swap it into that bird? I was planning to do the same thing.
