your disc is scratch ps2 silm will not read as good as big ps2 the big ps2 will read dvd games good and not so good cd games and ps2 slim ps2 will read cd games good and not so good dvd games that way to have a big for dvd rom ps2 games and slim ps2 for ps1 and ps2 cd rom games

my slimline ps2 had a lot of dumb problems, so i got a new one off my cousing a fat one, becos he didnt play it. it works much better even though it 8 yrs old and my slim was 2 yr old, but one unscratched game has the DRE. can anyone help me fix it??

I had the same prob with a very undamaged game, and it showed the browser screen (The other one) and the RSOD. Mental ps2 but I have a new one thats 3 yrs old!

I have quite a few games that have the same problem, or sometimes show the RSOD. That is what I hate about ps2's but besides that, they are cool!

hey, i also have this problem. but the different is when i put the disc into the console, the ps2 logo did not appear and it goes to browser screen. it looks like ps2 think there is no disc put into his mouth. i send my ps2 for repairing, and the problem solved. :D

You May Have Spiled Soda On The Disc. Try Cleaning The Disc. This Happened To Me When I Was Trying To Play Thrillville: Off The Rails. No Scraches or Pop Spils.

ok, this is the same exact thing as the disk read error, but not as bad. basically, the system reads that it is in fact a disk, but when you click on it and it tries to read it, it fails, and restarts. just look up how to fix disk read error, and do that process and it should work again.

I had this happen to my brand new PS2 Slimline Silver Version. I tried it three times then just unplugged the powercord from the back while it was still on. It fixed the problem.

Depends. If the disc isnt spinning then the lasers probably completely fucked, if the disc is spinning then it might just needs a clean

i got another problem. wen i first bought my gme it was clean and scratchless, but after playing the gme awhile, i see strange markings on my ps2 disc o_O it happened twice on the sme game. i nvr take off the gme. its only been 2 days n i dnt even play it alot.

how'd u know!?!?, the first gme is broken so i exchanged with a new one, then it got the marks again. it got stucked jus after a boss battle o_O, then i tried playing on my sis's ps2. it worked fine there.

Either you have an incompatible disc or your PS2 has developed a fault... it obviously isn't a scratched disc

yuo know wat if you want your ps2 to to have a long life and does'nt stock up u must love your ps2 after you play you must place it to a place that s away from dirt...and don't even try to fall it on the ground cause thats the problem y your ps2 is malfunctioning

it's simple clean the disc with a dry cloth and blow the ps2 to remove any dirt. worked for me on second sight

i had that problem b4 it cant read the disc after it has picked it up. check for scratches and make sure the game is in properly.

It happens to me 3 times cause of playing ps1 games (i can't believe ps1 games work on ps2 but it damages the lens!)So all you have to do is to repair your ps2 by changing its lens to another new one.
