Gsp clearly beat Jake Shields even with his left eye fucked up. Gsp looked more fucked up only because something was wrong with his left eye and that gave Shields his only good shot that landed perfectly on his nose. No need for a rematch Shields couldnt take him down and Shields was getting beat up even when Gsp could only see out of his one eye.
It was clear something was wrong with GPS's left eye since mid second round, still he didn't loose balance and coordination, that just goes to show his conditioning and physical preparedness, he is the boss at this weight and one of the most complete atheletes in sports.
GSP just ended the longest winning streak in MMA and dropped Shields multiple times (who Nick Diaz can't even drop in practice) and people are complaining that he didn't do it in an exciting fashion. Thats when you know you're a boss. Shields beat Dan Henderson(#2 LHW in the world) more dominantly than Anderson Silva did and GSP made Shields look like he never wrestled in his life. I don't know about you but I think that's impressive.
And that was bullshit. Its not like he lost when it was clear he won like with Shogun. He got his ass beat and got immediately rewarded for it. Now he only fights in Canada where 95% of the crowd is chanting his name and booing the other guy. Homefield advantage plays a huge part in all sports.
I dont like GSP. He talked shit about Jake and said he was gonna knock him out and I knew he would not. I know all you GSP fans will talk crap to me but he has no chance against Silva. When was the last time GSP finished a fight? Silva fights like 3 times a year and GSP fights once a year and its always in Canada. Why? Bcuz last time he fought on American soil for a title he got knocked out. Since he is Dana White's favorite fighter he got an immediate rematch in like 4 months in Montreal.

GSP's striking is lightyears ahead of Jake Shields's. Sure Jake Shields is better on the ground, but every fight starts on the feet. And let's not forget GSP has some of the best takedown defense in the game.
This bout isn't hard to predict. Standing, GSP has the advantage. On the ground, it's Jake's world. Sure GSP can work a little ground n pound, but thats how Jake catches guys...while they're committing an arm in a follow-through. That being said, this fight is only going to the ground if Georges wants it to.
I have to say you are incorrect. Watch jakes fights.. he has no striking power and GSP is good on the ground.. This is an mma fight not a jujitsu competition.
For instance they gave a good promo commercial to Josh Koscheck too the last time he fought vs GSP but they didn't give one to GSP, the champion should get a commercial too to see through their eyes too- that way it would be more exciting, you get to see how both sides feel not just one, and you get to see who is more of a protagonist!

This commercial could've had a better background track so that it can match what the two rivals are feeling. However, this set up for a commercial is the best type and this one in particular is probably the best one I've seen for UFC. Also they should have a special commercial like this for whoever is the champion too not just the challenger...
I like how the commercial does a good job in showing the journey of how Jake (who's portrayed as the underdog) gradually but quietly gets to the top while looking at the (long time) title holder from a far during his journey the whole time (implying that he's going to be the one to take him down from his championship reign & it's the moment he's been waiting for). I wish it was the other way around though because I like GSP to be portrayed as the underdog protagonist who merely but always wins..

Gsp clearly beat Jake Shields even with his left eye fucked up. Gsp looked more fucked up only because something was wrong with his left eye and that gave Shields his only good shot that landed perfectly on his nose. No need for a rematch Shields couldnt take him down and Shields was getting beat up even when Gsp could only see out of his one eye.

It was clear something was wrong with GPS's left eye since mid second round, still he didn't loose balance and coordination, that just goes to show his conditioning and physical preparedness, he is the boss at this weight and one of the most complete atheletes in sports.

GSP just ended the longest winning streak in MMA and dropped Shields multiple times (who Nick Diaz can't even drop in practice) and people are complaining that he didn't do it in an exciting fashion. Thats when you know you're a boss. Shields beat Dan Henderson(#2 LHW in the world) more dominantly than Anderson Silva did and GSP made Shields look like he never wrestled in his life. I don't know about you but I think that's impressive.

When was the last time GSP finished a fight? Silva fights like 3 times a year and GSP fights once a year and its always in Canada. Why? @Nathanwmang Why does ground equal Shields? Is it his jiu jitsu? If so, Bj Penn has amazing jiu jitsu and we all know what happened in that fight. Wrestling? I'd take GSP in that area too because of his size and strength. I doubt GSP will take it to the ground anyway because Shields has such a weak stand up game. Plus, i doubt Shields is gonna be able to take him down. Josh Koscheck is a much better wrestler than Shields and he couldn't take GSP down when he tried. That's just my opinion.

@hamadehh Just your opinion, exactly. Jake isn't only great at BBJ, but he's also a top level grappler. Koschek never got the chance to take down Georges after breaking his eye socket in the first round. You can't fight a guy with one eye. And just because one guy couldn't do something to someone, that doesn't mean another guy can't. With that logic Wandy and Rampage shouldn't have fought the 3rd time, because Wandy would knock out Rampage with ease, right? You're new to MMA. should know better.

This bout isn't hard to predict. Standing, GSP has the advantage. On the ground, it's Jake's world. Sure GSP can work a little ground n pound, but thats how Jake catches guys...while they're committing an arm in a follow-through. For instance they gave a good promo commercial to Josh Koscheck too the last time he fought vs GSP but they didn't give one to GSP, the champion should get a commercial too to see through their eyes too- that way it would be more exciting, you get to see how both sides feel not just one, and you get to see who is more of a protagonist!

because GSP is a good guy and he deserves to be on top for as long as he wants so I hope he wins. This commercial could've had a better background track so that it can match what the two rivals are feeling. However, this set up for a commercial is the best type and this one in particular is probably the best one I've seen for UFC. Also they should have a special commercial like this for whoever is the champion too not just the challenger...

I like how the commercial does a good job in showing the journey of how Jake (who's portrayed as the underdog) gradually but quietly gets to the top while looking at the (long time) title holder from a far during his journey the whole time (implying that he's going to be the one to take him down from his championship reign & it's the moment he's been waiting for). I wish it was the other way around though because I like GSP to be portrayed as the underdog protagonist who merely but always wins..
