  • 1984? Way ahead of the times. I was 13. Amazing music.

  • Melvins rendition is infinetly superior.

  • @ecsesspool Think so? I like both the punk sound of this, and the sludge metal sound of theirs. I really can't choose.

  • according to the liner notes to the Gluey Porch treatments the pearl jam guy didn't like playing the "same riff over and over" and green river "threw the song away" ....check out the Melvins version

  • @MMZen I know the story and have heard the Melvin's version.

  • fuck, that's good. i wonder who thought in 1984 how big this stuff was going to eventually get.

  • @carpoman Ask seattlealex down there in the comments, he's the drummer.

  • this makes me want to get a bass sooo bad!

  • It was the first song ever written.

  • @seattlealex And hell, my favorite.

  • Can see their influence on 'grunge' way more the Mother Love Bone.

  • @eternalnightmare13 Mother Love Bone had way more of a glam rock sound. The only song I really like from them was "This is Shangrila".

  • :)

  • awesome.

  • Mudhoney posted this on FaceBook

  • @thedude9099 Wow!

Really? Nice! Thanks for telling me.

  • Melvins r probly my favorite band, but i like this original version better

  • @thedude9099 Yeah, I slightly prefer this one too.

  • So, the original song is written by Green River, not Melvins? Anyway, love them both!

  • @ed911016 Yep, Mark Arm stated that the song would fit the Melvins better, so he basically gave them the song. haha
