You can NOT have a menstrual cycle during pregnancy, menstrual cycles happen when you ovulate and you do NOT ovulate when you are pregnant. You can have bleeding during pregnancy, but it is not a 'period'.

When I was pregnant my son grew more in then out so by the end of my term I looked like I was 6 months along then nine... Didn't pop out til a week before my due date. Some woman still get there period during their pregnancy but its never a lot of blood, they called it spotting which is normal. I got that once through my pregnancy.

The vast majority of the women on these shows aren't paying attention to their bodies, or ignore obvious signs. You put on a "little" weight for no reason, and are extremely fit and active, you might want to see if there's a cause behind that.

@Kadda1234 Same here! Longest I skipped a period was like 8 months. The shortest time span between a period was 3 months. It's kind of awesome not having a period every month, but at the same time kind of scary ... I wonder if it has any kind of physical repercussions later on in life?

@Kadda1234 Then you obviously have some health issue going on preventing your cycles from being regular. A lot of health complications can affect your period. It is not normal or healthy for you to be amenorrheic for a whole year.

@Kadda1234 Same here without birthcontroll i had 3 weeks to 3 moths between my periods. The doctor said if i don't get on some kind of hormonal birthcontroll now that i might get infertal so I did. It's has normalles over the moths but my body still tends to skip some times. another thing... my mom had her period till 5 months in the pregnantcy of my little brother. But she did know after 2 months that she was pregant. So people... yes you can have your peroid and be pregnent!

@msnoahxlukefan Ask a doctor before spouting off. It's not possible to have a period during pregnancy. A period is the shedding of the uterine lining. The uterine lining is needed during pregnancy. It is shed only if a woman is NOT pregnant. A woman may experience some spotting, but it's not the same as a period.

@potatochipXLNo, actually I'm not. Spotting is not the same as a period.. You cannot have a period while pregnant. A period is the shedding of the endometrial lining, which is needed for the egg to be implanted. If that lining is shed, the pregnancy gets terminated, as the egg would be shed with the lining. Therefore, not possible to have a period and still be pregnant. Spotting, yes. But not a period.

@crazykaikat Yes, I'm aware of that. My point was that a woman can't be having her period every month and still be pregnant, contrary to what the person who keeps replying to me thinks. If there is bleeding during pregnancy, it's not a period. It can be one of several other things, but periods only happen when your healthy and not pregnant.

@potatochipXL You cannot have a period if you are pregnant. You can bleed LIKE a period, its called spotting or break through bleeding. If you have a menstrual cycle, you are shedding the lining of the uterus. If you are pregnant, that's where the zygote implants itself and begins to grow. It's also where the placenta attaches and grows as well. If you shed this while pregnant, then the pregnancy is terminated. Thats how the abortion pill works. It makes you have a period, thus killing the baby.

Even if you had no recognizable symptoms in the beginning there is no magic place inside you where a baby can hide so that you wouldn't know something was up until labor.These women are seriously out of touch with what's going on in their bodies.Having sex check, no period for 9 months check, weight gain around the abdomen despite efforts to lose weight check. My own doctor missed my pregnancy. He told me I was infertile when I was 6 weeks along. I experienced no symptoms until 20 weeks and I have pcos so irregular cycles were normal. I was 28 and had spend my whole life getting period 2-3 times a year. Doing some math I got pregnant 88 days after my last period had started. I was happy when I found out I was pregnant but at the first ultrasound a month after the positive test I was shocked to see a 24 week fetus. Gained no weight until 28 weeks

@ohhisean Some women do experience some light bleeding from the uterine wall that can be misconstrued as menstruation. Some other women have their period so inconsistent for whatever x reason it isn't a huge surprise to go months without seeing a single drop. I personally have gone six months without my period before and all I was told to do was to go on the pill. And I have an adverse reaction to the pill so, to hell with it.

If you don't gain much weight, get your period like you always do, never throw up, get nauseous, or have any other health related symptoms or problems that would indicate pregnancy.... How would you possibly know you're pregnant? This is possible and has happened to someone I know. In fact, she had miscarried, gone to the hospital, was TOLD she miscarried at three months gestation, she was cleaned out, etc... and had a baby 6 months later. She miscarried its twin. Even Doctors didn't know. lol
