I own property in Merced and Mariposa counties. This would put me in two different states. South California would be like "Free America" compared to what it is now. California has been exploiting 11 of these poor counties for water resources, agricultural resources and taxes. California would loose most of it's "power" if  "South California" was not "legally" bound to the liberal majority. The political structure would collapse and change would set in.
