All I can say is WOW! What did it cost to build something like that in US dollars. Reading all the posts, there is a lot of misinformation being posted. The plane actually got its start in 1959. We knew the U2 had a limited lifespan BUT in the late 50's early 60's, we had no idea the Russians had something capable of taking out a plane at 80,000 ft!
