It sounds like a fan being overworked ... My Wii does the same but not on regular basis. I suspect because I have a fan installed in the back of my Wii. Got it cheap from Best Buy (you're welcome Best Buy) ...

try taking a can pf pressurized air to the vents on the wii to clear the dust out and see if it helps

The problem is the top plastic bearing frame for the disc is touching the bearing arm when the disc is spinning. Check my account for a video to see the cause and fix. There is also another easier indirect fix I found on youtube where you just have to slacken one of the corner screws on the frame that holds the bearing arm.

this noise can be caused by 2 diffrent reason

1 u have placed it near by another console or dvd player which the magnets in side pull towards each other and break the console

2 the screw that are inside the wii are 2 tight open up and loosen the 4 coner screws this will work

Mine used to have the same problem but I don't think it was that loud. Mine is back to normal and this is how I think I may have fixed it. Prior to the annoying noise I used to just leave the disk in the wii when I turned it off, but after it became loud I always removed the disk and turned it off so the red led light is showing. I even sometimes left it unplugged if I knew I wouldn't be playing for a while. I'm not sure if that will work but mine is back to normal now so it might be worth a try

Clicking...I think that's the laser thing moving around...my brand new Wii did the same, both of them. I often hear beeping sounds as well. There is a very light whirr sound, which would be the motor spinning the disc...sounds normal to me anyway.

Actually, I think the Wii is probably one of the quietest systems I've had, along with my Cube and Playstation (original).

Mine actually had the warranty through Best Buy - an even exchange. Fortunately when my wii went out was when Smash came out...and a nice supply of Wii consoles. I did have to back up my game saves though onto SD card. My wii's now as quiet as...something quiet? Anyway, my wii's all good now.

i have the same prob. wat i ddi waz call nintendo customer support(18002553700) and tell them the prob. they will get ur adress and other info, they will e-mail u or via mail u a shipping thinggy, put ur wii in a boxand put the lable then send it. they wii send a replacement.

I bought my wii the same day it came out and it is still making the noise. It plays the games fine, just annoyingly noisy. I guess I should just get it over with and send it into Nintendo. I do have a 3 year plan on my Wii through best buy but it is worthless right now as the wii is hard to get still and it would be taking mine in and doing a simple even exchange. Which means, bye internet browser that I got free.
