  • i was raised catholic but after studying history and reading the Bible i reject the anti-christ church. my beliefs are aligned with these protestants of the 1500 and 1600's and the early christians who were persecuted by the babylonian church in rome

  • One more thing Google the so called reformists on your movie and learn a few truths about them Luther didnt have the net, If he did he might of GOT IT RIGHT. Calvin was quite a butcher himself and modern day nutters that have led people to an early grave, Guess what PROTESTANT bibles in their hands. I was Uniting till I discovered google TRY IT saved me from an end of time BBQ. 33,000 dif pastors all bringing their own meat. Forget what you were programed and seek the truth PLEASE. pray 4 U

  • You now have over 33,000 groups all claiming the way to salvation and every day someone else is enlightened ??? Christ gave Peter the keys to his church and he said to his church, You will be denied, hated, persicuted and false words will be spoken against you. REMEMBER thou THEY did this to me first. I want my church to be as one as I am with my Father. All we can do is pray for you all.

  • Bound by scripture, Well Luther didnt like the bible so he choped and changed it. went with the jewish old test, Jews left out part of it because it was in greek (they translated it) Reason, christians were useing it to convert jews, It was written 200y before Christ and said what they would do to him. James said faith without works is dead. Check the truth on the net. Satan has faith in the power of god alone. he wont be going to heven. If I am wrong YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT DO YOU

  • Peter was an Elder, not a Bishop=1Pet5:1;Office of Priest ended when Christ bcame 1 & only HighPriest & intercessor Heb 7:24,25 Heb10:21 2Tim2:5; whole church is now a priesthood 2Pet2:9; Peter was married Matt8:14;Church NEVR to FORCE members to worship God=INQUISITION=1Pet5:2-4;Confesion to priest=wrong Matt18:15;to remit sins=only as prescribed by scripture=Jesus said to remit 70X7 if one ask Matt18:22 if person rejects correction reproof=retain.GOD ALONE absolves sins of men Luk5:21 Acts4:12

  • Nicely done, sir! There has been a discouraging and dangerous slide into ignorance over the past half century or more about the history of our faith. I don't know about you, but I was taught very little about the reformation and the brave people who stood up against the might of the Roman monstrosity- often at the cost of their lives. When I DID read a well-written history of the church, I wept w/ gratitude for those who gave all and gave us the Word of God and freedom from Rome's wickedness.

  • @talitakoomi Your "freedom" is nothing but sheer arrogance. Christ created ONE Church upon St. Peter, and still remains with His Church today: the Holy Catholic Church.

The Reformers are heretics who have damaged Christian unity due to their own pride on following Christ their own way, instead of following His Church.

The downfall of Western Civilization in the past 100 years can be tied directly to the Protestant Revolt of the 16th century. Moral Relativism and Secularism are its children.

  • I understand reasons for the Reformation, but I do not understand the change in position on sources of authority. The 1st Christians didn't have Bibles, yet they had the fullness of Christ's authority, vested in Scripture, oral tradition, and sacred custom. Jesus didn't write a book. He founded a Church. After the Reformation, the focus was on Scripture alone, yet the Bible was created BY the Church that you left. Your Catholic ancestors left you an inheritance. You did more than reform it. Why?

  • NOMINAL PROTESTANTS have ALREADY RECANTED or HAVE MADE PEACE with the so-called MOTHER CHURCH of Rome...even the LUTHERAN Protestants of Germany have publicly apologized to the Papacy for Martin Luther's actions during his calling the Pope as the BEAST OF REVELATION 13:18...the spirit of Protestantism is NO MORE!!! It is TRULY SAD for the TRUE Protestant followers that the nations that used to proudly hold its principles have rescinded its sovereignty to the friends or associates of Papal Rome.

  • @DXTBOW why is it sad that lutherans have apologized for calling the popes the beast of revelation.

  • @MrBronbron --Good for the Lutherans; also Pope John Paul II has apologized for any moral failings from the catholic church that has lead to such sad divisions among believers.

  • @DXTBOW The Church of Rome IS the mother church of Protestants. The Reformation was understandable, but even Luther at one point said that it went beyond "reform". I am Catholic. I have, and respect, many Protestant friends because they stand FOR something. Yet some Protestants to this day seem to justify their existence by being against something. A faith based on enmity is not a faith. It's a "reaction" that cannot stand proudly on its own two feet.

  • @lichtbroeder You are only partially correct. The apostles of Yeshua DID have the "Bible" in 1) the Tanakh (Torah/Law, prophetic books, and the writings-the Old Testament, i.o.w.) and 2) the direct and live witness to the life and teachings of Yeshua, who IS the Word of God-brought to remembrance & knowledge by the Holy Spirit and, as in Luke's case, by numerous interviews. Before the 1st gen died- we had the basis of our Bible-the tanakh and letters and gospels- with no traditions of men.

  • @talitakoomi Jesus' teachings made certain Old Testament laws irrelevant. Clearly, God's authority was not vested immutably in the written word. Jesus, the living Word, transcended the old Law. Accounts by Luke and others DO equal "interviews". They are records of the Word of God, but NOT the Word of God. Jesus founded a living church. He didn't write a book. Authority for Christians came also from the apostles and later the Church, which approved and codified our Scriptures.

  • @talitakoomi The 1st Christians had no "Christian" traditions. How could they? Jewish traditions evolved from Jewish sacred texts, and Christian traditions came from these and Christian texts. To limit God to revealing Himself only via Scripture is wrong. The first Christians had Scripture, tradition, and sacred custom to draw on, all inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Word was made flesh, and so too did the Word sanctify and bless external traditions to our spiritual health and benefit.

  • @talitakoomi Jesus often did and said things that seemingly contradicted, or had no basis in, Jewish Law, law which came from God. Yet Jesus was the FULFILLMENT of O.T. law. In the same sense, those sacraments and Christian traditions that are not directly commanded by Scripture are still inspired by the same spirit that inspired Scripture, and give fullness to the Word. For God to manifest Himself to us via all our senses, and to make the physical into vehicles of His grace, is a blessing.

  • Just came across this video. You did a great job putting this together and summarizing THE GREAT REFORMATION! Thank you!

Scripture is the foundation in which we must build our beliefs!

  • Just came across this video. You did a great job putting this together and summarizing THE GREAT REFORMATION! Thank you!

Scripture is the foundation in which we must build out beliefs!

  • Good video. It shows good people and the teachings. I appreciate it. I was brought up Lutheran and have grown to appreciate Luther's contribution, as well as all of the other reformers, to Christendom.

  • Okay, so i am wondering as a Catholic, why are protestants still seperate other than the fact some have moved theologically too far away. We got rid of indulgences. We may differ on salvation, but essentially don't we have the same beliefs. As a Catholic I believe that Christ died for our sins. So what is wrong with that. I will give protestants though that you respect the bible very much so.

  • or you have not truly accepted Jesus Christ and you are continually relying on your own strength and wisdom which is corrupt by the very condition of our own hearts and so you can never fully give authenticity to yourselves.Until we surrender 'FULLY' to The Lord with all our hearts and give Him the Glory Honour and Praise with ALL our hearts, and pray without ceasing, then Reformation will continue to tarry.Get your heart aright with The Lord, don't look to man for the answers he doesn't have them

  • Why do people feel the need to question God and His word? Why do we consistently question authenticity of His word? And why do we feel the need to question our own faith? I have the answer, as I am sure you do if you really think about the origin of ALL our questions and mistrust in man. Answer... 'SIN'.We continually sin, in word or deed. Either you know the truth and the truth has made you free in the redemptive blood shed through our Saviour Jesus Christ for us all....

  • I assume you were raised in the religion you now practice. For people who are raised in a religion and find themselves repelled from it or drawn to another - be it Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, or anything else - questioning is essential. And just as you don't question Christianity, there are members of other religions who don't question their faith. Do you think that only Christians should have the right to believe unquestioningly? That's an honest question, not a barb.

  • In addition, to prove that I mean no offense to your beliefs, I would give you a friendly recommendation - the book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces," by Joseph Campbell, is an analysis of mythology (merely meaning religious/cultural stories, not "lies"), both old and new. If you spend some time with it, I think you might get more out of the Bible itself than you've already gotten - an even deeper understanding of the meanings of the various stories. Believer or not, they're good stories.

  • Never mind the video.

The comment section here is possibly the most revealing thing I have seen in quite a while.

When a salesman calls at my door trying to sell me something, nowadays, it's really easy to hop on the web and do a little research into the product.

It's no wonder to me why your product sales are plummeting and the company looks like it's headed for insolvency.

  • well the reformation was a good start I guess. Now if we could finish the job and get rid of the one pastored church system we'll be well on our way to revival.

  • Good video Bless you

  • I wish pope Benedict could go back in time & let ML know how he helped the RC church. One day RCs & Lutherans will figure out how to come together, again.

  • .

Remember Christians, the will of God is no Catholic, Protestant,Orthodox, Penticostal, Adventist, JW, Etc. NO DIVISION, Only Christians, holy, helping and sharing instead of buying and selling.

"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." (John 17:9-21)

    .

  • That's exactly where you are wrong. Protestants believe in the divine inspiration of Scripture. i.e Scripture is NOT tradition!

  • I wholeheartedly agree. The Bible is the divenly inspired inerrant Word of God and the sole source of doctrine and practice.

  • I suspect a little study may assist you.

  • Actually, I have a bachelors in theology :/

  • Theology is a broad term, and encompasses many aspects, but it is where you studied theology that is the point. There are few bible colleges in the world that do not present a bias. In fact it is law that a bible college declare its apologetic, doctrinal, and dogmatic bias. The exception to the rule applies to secular universities or colleges, whereby there is freedom to express and follow a random beliefs. Where did you gain your BA?

  • I agree that every institution has a bias, but just because a person has a bias towards one particular view, does not automatically disqualify the validity of that view. So you are right, I was taught from a particular bias. But so was everybody! There is no such things as exception to this rule. Secular universities also push biases, their bias is towards secularism.

I gained my Bth at The Bible Institute of South Africa which is accredited through Northwest University (a secular university)

  • But my point is this. The Reformers held that the Bible was divinely inspired, and the implications of this doctrine is that the scriptures are free of error and the ultimate and supreme authority for the doctrine and life of the Christian. That is what they taught.

You despute that fact and say, i should go home and do my home work.

  • Were you aware that the Books of Ruth and Job were not considered to be divinely inspired by the reformers?

  • Not only that. Even the very same book of St. James among others, was not totally accepted by Martin Luther; with all probability because it clearly contradicts Luther statement about salvation by faith "alone"

  • It must be accredited through a government or state university, that is normal educational process.

Secular view does not have a bias, and can not have a bias, given it is secular. Bias contradicts the word secular (meaning many views). Theology studied in a "secular" university looks at the beliefs of all people of all religions, while paying attention to their history, and beliefs without the use of dogma and apologetics. The student is able is determine for themself what makes the most...

  • sense. That is very different from bible college bias, and why Midrash is not taught in Bible Colleges.

  • I am still intrigued to hear what you know about Midrash, and how it is used in the NT, and in particular, how it is utilised in encompassing the OT traditions.

  • midrash? sounds like jock itch

  • I belive in the inspired word of God traditions of man nake the word of God of no affect towards you

  • I may have asked you this already, but being a student of theology, you will no doubt know this.

What is Midrash, and give me one example of where it is used in the NT?

  • I think where you are going with this is the theory that certain new testament books like matthew where written as Midrashes, a genre of Jewish litreture, which was a sort of commentary but also a embellishment of the true history, for the sake of makeing theological point. This is used to explain away certain historical tensions within the book of Matthew. In other words the idea is: Matthew is not writing a strict historical account, but rather a midrash, a slight embellishment of the facts.

  • For what purpose do you ask about Midrash?

  • I find it funny that Protestants rely on the bible which is essentially tradition, yet rejects the organization that wrote, codified and preserved that tradition: the Catholic Church.

All protestants are heretics. The fullness of the Truth resides in the Catholic Chruch.

  • Great video, great words....

  • this is Bach's concert for harpsichord?

  • No it's:

Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in E Major

  • i'm just glad we don't gotta kiss no pope.

  • Glaube versetzt Berge ......

  • Christ and his inspired Word are the correct ones. There are differences in the Protestants, but (if they're defined as Christians) they're united by one unique doctrine: Christ died for us, so we're saved from our sins. Let's live up Jesus' doctrine as a way of love and thanksgivins to Jesus (Ef.2:10). Jesus' disciples are so recognizable because they love one another (Jn.13:35). God bless you all.

  • 33.000 Protestant faiths to date 2009. Which one of these is the correct one?

  • I live in Mexico and here we have a lot of deaths due to religious persecution of the system created by the church imposed in blood, slavery and massacres. I can only agree with the principles that made the Reformation and that keep our souls following in the footsteps of Christ. Solo Christus, Sola Fides, Sola Scriptura. Amen

  • Don't think Luther et al were intentionally "bad" men. But to think that mere men could successfully "edit" the church Christ set up...whether or not it was in need of editing...arrogant. Should have just held fast to Christ's promise that He would not abandon his followers& let things get all screwed up.Luther should've just sat tight and trusted Christ.Trusted that things would work out.He ended up, instead, leading tonnes astray.Unintending, but nevertheless.Return home to Catholicism.Me 2.

  • 'editing'? truly very bad, don't make that. Instead abandon demons and return to the Savior.

  • my friend it is unfortunate that you dont understand how the catolic church burned many christians and killed hundreds of thousands of people because they would not follow the woman spoke of in rev 17, people beaten and killed for reciting the bible . religion has blinded you friend brother lithers work was inspired by the lord brought the english speaking bible , les a man be born again he shall not see the kingdom of god

  • I referred to 1 Cor 10:20 where it is forbidden to trade with the demons (who dress up like idols, saints, virgins, clergy) with mandas, pilgrimage, vows, offerings, dances, chants because that away from God and you enter in the kingdom of Satan that has infiltrated much of Christianity, especially of the hands of the pope and acolytes, some writing here.

  • very nice video

  • Can anyone list the musical pieces in order as they appear in the video?? Thanks.

  • 1. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in E Major (Bach)

    2. Duel of the Fates (Star Wars Phantom Menace soundtrack)

    3. Freedom (Michael W. Smith)

    4. Freedom Battle (Michael W. Smith)

    5. Losing Time - The Grand Finale (Dream Theater)

  • Great video....thank you.

  • Recall the mark of the Demoniac Mark of Possession:

    Mark 5:1-20...Can cause Insanity

    Mat 9:32-33...Mental Incoherence

    Mark 9:22....Suicidal Mania

  • What a waste of Bach.

  • Holy Spirit gives molesters, killers, inquisitors and obscurantists paps? you need some strength to become a true follower of Christ. please, ask revelation.

  • Human labels are besides the point. There is only one church, which consists not of those who label themselves Christians, but consists of all those who follow Jesus as Lord whatever local congregation they attend. Jesus is the head of that one church and we are all members.

  • here in mexico Reformation continues, tG, popery down, latinamerican peoples are wise.

  • God bless His One Universal and Invisible beautiful Church. Amen

  • Forgot the physical church.. just going to place that right in there.. ok now your set!

  • What a fantastic video. I like the focus of the reformers on Jesus. He is our righteousness. He is our life. He is the image of the invisible God. He is the way to the Father. He is our everything.

    Praise the Lord.

  • EPIC!

  • kpman, man made all churches but the One, True, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church. They didn't have authority to deviate from the earliest Catholic doctrine & when they did it opened a pandora's box. It went from Luther, to Calvin, to American religious phenomena (Baptist, Church of Christ, etc) to outright insanity of Jim Jones, Koresh, JW's, Mormons & the list goes on. prot reformers of yesterday/today tickle the ears of the ignorant. Solution: study the unbiased history of Christianity!

  • Prots deny Cath infallability yet follow prot leaders infallably. Since each prot denomination adheres to teachings of their respective leaders (Luther, Calvin, non-denominational preachers, ect...), those leaders r in effect their popes! Think about it! Prots obey the doctrine of the reformers as well as the johnny-come-lately preachers of the "church of what's happenin now" as if deviating from those teachings is heresy. If u don't think so, just ask a Baptist, JW, Mormon, Lutheran, etc.

  • Man made Churches! Man made doctrines, Some 30, 000 so called Churches since the so called Reformation. A good thing? I think not.

  • Yawn. Romanists are fish worshipers - see the hats your 'primates' wear.

  • There is no connection though with the mesopatamian fish god, its just a concidence that the hats look like that.

  • Dr. James White (aka DrOakley1689 here on YouTube) has refuted that 30,000 number.

  • Amazing I am in tears.... Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott!-

  • And he wrote a polemic letter against the Church to defend of Jews in AD 1517: 'Jesus Christ was a Jew'. He has blamed and accused the Roman Catholic Church for their cruelty in the matter of the Jews, but after 20 years he has totally changed his attitude. In fact, Martin Luther was a trimmer person.

  • Im proud u came to Catholicisim. And it is a good point that u pointed about the Bible. Althought teh Bible is the word of God, we cannot look to solve problems by searching it in the Bible. WE as CAtholics rely on the Bible and tradition and our Pope to Guide us. A problem i ask protestants who rely only on the Bible to answer thsi question: where in teh Bible does it talk about contraception, where in the Bible does it talk about cloning? what verse what line explains the wrongs of clonning?

  • although most protestants claim to rely on the bible as the only religious authority, there are plenty of issues where protestant theology is based on speculation that goes beyond the bible. protestant views regarding the lord's supper are not based solely on the bible verses. the catholic view of the lord's supper is likewise not proven from the bible alone, yet catholics can go beyond the bible because catholics aren't claiming the bible as the only religious authority.

  • There is no Pope in the Bible.

  • actually... Jesus commanded peter to be the first pope to lead his flock in this world:)

  • And where does it say that?

  • Jesus said Simon is now Rock; the name change says it all: Simon means "Reed", which as we know gets swayed by the wind, but Cephas means "Rock" which stays put no matter what. The Pope leads us and feeds us with unswaying doctrine of truth.

  • I follow Jesus (Isa Masih in Arabic), not the Pope.

  • @FollowIsaMasih considering that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ, and the head of His Church on Earth, your statement is in utter conflict with itself.

    Good job.

  • Peter ain't no pope, he got executed

  • Jesus got executed.... does that mean he isn't the saviour?

  • In the past, blood must be spilt from animals as sacrifice for people's sin. Jesus' death was the ultimate sacrifice, therefore we no longer have to do the traditional practices. Peter, if he was pope, would have people following him, his own servants, and riches, and his very own established church. How can Nero kill him so easily if he had it all? By the way, the first pope was Simon Magus the sorcerer.

  • greeting from EU, Transylvania!

  • greetings from old Ulster

  • Thank God for the Protestant reformation - from one of the last bulwarks of the Protestant faith - Ulster. We will never bow down to rome. It was actually rome that started anti-semitism...

  • all these video's leave out that martin luther wanter to kill all the jews now how can anybody follow a man that aspires to those kinds of beliefs ask yourself Could this be true??? well what are you waiting for look it up and find it out yourself if you wikapedia him and click on some of the some of the comments about him you will find indisputabl documentation that he is a bigot and fraud The biggest decistion in your life is the relationship you have with God There can only be one true church

  • Wikipedia is essentially run by the Jesuits and is as such an unreliable historical source. Jesuits are sworn to tell any lie neccessary to destroy the reformation. Therefore, one can not reasonably affirm that Wikipedia is a reliable source in this matter.

  • Good video!

  • Wow, excellent record of some of the icons in the reformation.

Thank God for the current Apostolic reformation

  • i\m reformed in Transylvania. Thank you for the video.

  • Nice classy production 10 out of 10... very tastefully done.

  • Thank you...good stuff
