  • I have had my Thyroid removed in August of 2011 due to a multiple nodule goiter and after they did the small needle aspiration found suspicious cells turns out good call when they removed the Thyroid they found papillary carcinoma. It had not spread to lymph nodes and removed with surgery. I have been on iodine diet. Radiation on Friday I am nervous too , and the scan scares the crap out of me. They I had to do it so the cancer can't come back. Thanks for sharing

  • Ok I'm scared.

  • @tootnbarb Did you ever try natural therapy, o did the doctor laugh at that?

Also what effects did i have afterwards? Did the proptosis get worse, did you feel lethargic, dont say there were no side effects because thats a lie.

  • Also how was the proptosis after the RAI treatment, did it increase or decrease or stay the same?

  • @tootnbarb So was taking RAI a disaster? My wife has hyperthyroidism and the doctor keeps pushing this RAI nonsense, but I have a feeling she is trying to make a dollar and using my health as a money game.

The way I see it is who the hell would swallow radioactive anything? radioactivity is poison. Why pay $2K+ for a pill when you can buy a flight to Japan for around $1K and get all the RAI you want justby standing in vicinity of Fukushima.

  • @agenthelios1

    1. I swallowed a radioactive pill to "kill" my thyroid.

    2. Radioactivity is not a poison.

    3. The radioactive iodine only targets my thyroid; not my entire body (Fukushima).

    4. My insurance paid for most of it (80%). I only had to pay about $400 USD.

    5. Graves disease was literally killing me.

  • @davalosdx1 Did you just say radioactivity is NOT a poison...LOL that is ignorant. If its not a poison I wil pay for your flight for you to go to the Fukushima reactor site and help with the cleanup. Im serious contact me I will get you a flight and hotel then make a you tube video of you there with no protective gear.

  • Hi, Are you still on the medecine after the radiation?

  • Your stupid cuz the only thing that observe the radioactive iodine is you thyroid gland ok nothing else in your baddy those ok

  • I had my left thyroid, (cancer) and the right just in case, I will now have the iodine on January 11, 12, & 13, please pray for me, scared has hell, but they have give me hope that thyroid cancer is 90 percent curable. Mrs Castro, I wish you and your husband the best, and hope you have a very happy and healthy baby. God Bless you for sharing your story. We're you able to take pain meds cause of the pain in your kidney and teeth

  • hypherthyroidism makes you loose weight really bad like anorexia look like, your metabolism is really fast, you eat a lot you dont gain weight,. after radiation, theres a tendency to become hypothyroidism which your metabolism becomes slow you eat a little and you gain weight.. i have mine 2004.

  • I want you to know that you are offering a lot of encouragement to people like myself that just don't understand a lot about this disease. Thank you so much.

  • To Castroxoxo... You either had an extremely adverse reaction to the treatment or created your own complications in your mind. The process is quite simple and the things you mentioned seem out of line with the treatment which I also had. Also, you are extremely gifted if you can actually feel your thyroid. I think your fear created much of what you mention.

  • You're brave, thanks for the upload. Good luck

  • my mom had a journey with graves disease. It was very hard o her all her energy was gone she couldnt go to work or nothing. But the dr. gave her the radioactive iodine now shes fine...But has to take thyroid medication for the rest of her life. But all my prayers go out to you

  • @kbreezy63 ... I alos had hyperthyroidism and don't understand you Mom's fatigue. It is actually as if your motor is always running at full speed ahead even when you are sleeping. The fatigue you mention is more related to hypothyroidism. My graves disease almost killed me but I got it check out just in time. I don't understand your Mom's fatigue as related to graves disease.

  • @kbreezy63 My wife has Grave's disease and she's gone through all the alternative stuff we can find. Nothing has helped, last option is the Ra Iodine treatment. My wife's nervous as hell because she's an engineer and says most people gain enormous amounts of weight. Was that your mother's experience?

  • My heart is going out to you after hearing this one. It seems like you have more suffering involved than I did.

  • Wow. It was emotional just listening to you. I know this had to be so hard on you. I was offered this therapy & had some images of my thyroid taken. The doc thought I should get it but the nuclear med technician who ran the tests said the hospital refused me for it, said my levels weren't high enough or something. This was a while back so I don't remember all the details. I had reservations about it & was glad I didn't have to go through with it & I must say your nurse was so insensitive!
