Billy Cobham has been one of my very favorite drummers since the 70s and 80s. He is a monster drummer, totally versatile and so innovative and contemporary. God bless you for posting this song with these fantastic artists. You made my day and my weekend. Where can I purchase this music, please????
This is an AMAZING find for me! I've been a Billy Cobham fan ever since I saw him perform with John McLaughlin in 1972 a huge Gino Vanelli fan since about '74/'75 and Chaka Khan since Rufus. What a right blend of talent, not to mention all of the other super heavy weight performers. Everybody here combines to make one power glide ride into precision soul. Can't say enough good about all of this and all of you who participated. Double thanx for posting!
Just a geeky DAW technical question - they recorded using Pro Tools it looks like, right, okay, I don't think they used a click track, how'd they set that up? Now, I am thinking that Mr. Cobham and producer wouldn't because... you have BC in the house.
An a music appreciation tip - this is an amazing song, I recently found this in my venture into Gino's work and its like a fusion of Gino & Cobham, it's like... incredible! The words, the groove, the way Gino sings, wow...
I guess I'm a little slow getting to this! This is outstanding. What a collaboration! Would love to see this live. Agree w/glennbo72! As always GIno is genius! Who is the bass player? She's tight!
NIIIICE ! Almost like the vintage Gino of the A &M days. Great groove. Love both of these guys. I think Gino should front an all star jazz fusion band. Chick, Stanley, Al D or PatM Billy C. That would RIP !! and bring this music to prominence.
Your roots are with Celine and mine--Gino Vanelli can really sing and he's doing this with jazz & imrov, soul and very bluesy elements. It's the best kind of music to listen to if you are in the right mood. You also like crooning and ballads and gospel. That's the gospel truth. This is why we love the same music. Magnederful.
@124bjw This song is totally amazing. The genius innovations of Billy Cobham, the vocals of Gino, pure elegance. Great song. I'm 56....great up in the 70s and 80s. Music was the best then. I"m a jazz and gospel fan. Billy Cobham has Chaka Khan on this volume, I believe. GOD BLESS YOU.
