But when it comes down to it- I don't vote for any politician that's for big government and higher taxes.
I make less than $30k a year, and still don't want any president taking any more of my money.

I'm not rooting for McCain whatsoever. But don't be so surprised your wheaties gets pissed in if there's some type of major foul-up/setup/whatever that puts McCain back in the game. However, I'm not really rooting for Obama. I'll be glad that if it's him instead of McCain, but I find he's still a douchebag and won't change much

Giving polls that say who people think 'won the debate' are different from people who think Obama will 'win the election'. I am a definite Obama fan but people still have to pull the lever or make the mark for Obama Nov. 4th, no matter who they think won the debate.

Obama won this debate comprehensively and that's putting it mildly. If anything he annihilated McCain, who came back with hackneyed and contrived answers with no substance behind them. There's no doubt that Obama looked WAY more presidential than McCain in this debate. This was clearly evident.

The thing about that statement and th debate is that McCain clearly tried to fake his way through. It really was a great loss for McCain, and with the election day coming soon, I highly doubt McCain can do anything extraordinary to win the people's votes.

What I love about what these polls are saying is a large percentage of undecided voters what to vote for the winner. As it looks more and more like Obama is going to win, more undecided voters win vote his way.

It was moving when Obama said he believed healthcare should be a right and talked about how his mother--who died of cancer at 53--had to spend the last months of her life arguing with insurance companies. To me that was the most memorable part of the debate--and a clear indication Obama has the right priorities for this country.

I totally agree with you. I thought the debate was a tie at first. But once the health care question popped up and Obama told his mother's story, Obama emerged as the clear winner. And then he explained his plan which was vastly superior to what McCain had to offer...Yup even Fox news had to admit Obama won!

They can only do that if the numbers are close. Obama is pulling too far ahead ... it would be too obvious and there would be an investigation. When it came down to a few thousand votes in the last two election it was definitely possible and easy to hide. Not this time. They won't. The risks would be greater than the possible rewards. Not to mention that the Republican base doesn't like McCain to begin with.

If I'm correct those there are from text polls are extremely distorted because most Republicans are watching Fox. The Fox News text poll had an almost identical slant towards McCain. What is important though, is that there are many more Independents and Democrats than Republicans.

The reason why is... that when an "Elite" Dem has made a bigger impact on turning the economy around (no matter how strong the economy is) and we are still in Iraq, Repubs will be able to sweep the White House, House and Senate. When I looked at Fox News right after the debate and they said that McCain had won something like 67 to 25. It was based on a call in poll I think. Anyway, I'm glad to hear they got different result when they delved deeper. I wonder what spin O'Reilly and Gretta are putting on that.

Lets not get overconfident CNN also polled their focus group and 14 of the 25 said they would vote for McCain. The Obama campaign also released their numbers on the % of Americans that would say they will vote Obama and then vote McCain because he is black and thats 6%. Thats the Obama campaigns numbers.
