The U.S. Companies that move out of the United States to get cheaper labor ought to be charged excise taxes equivalent to the product being manufactured in the U.S. -- maybe then we would not be in the financial crisis that we are today -- also the U.S. needs to do away with labor unions -- they are and have priced their way out of jobs
@TheDb351c we should also eliminate obstreperous environmental and labor laws other countries don't have to follow which make it hugely expensive to do business here
@niselat Does that make it right for US Companies to go out of country and resale the product to us at the same or higher price? I sum it up as the Labor Unions have priced their selves out of business. The Labor Unions need to be abolished in this country and it would do us all a world of good.
So sad about Bobby,, he was a brother Ironworker, hockey player, school mate, and friend of mine.... that crane was a South shore icon for 30 years.. everyone in Quincy, weymouth and on a clear day, as far as boston woke up to that out their window.. It was part of the land scape and most people loved it.. Because their fathers, brothers, uncles ,all had someone who worked there and loved the stories they told.. The crane is gone, and so is a life, all because Dickhead "QUIRK" needs more cars!
@IRONSEAN7 I agree with ya man. My family worked in that yard for decades and my dad worked on the commuter boats for a couple of years. I remember going to work with him and looking at Goliath all day. Heck, dad got to eat his lunch up there when he was younger because his freind ran the crane.
Nice vid, sad story.
