@LCEUclan This stuff was early 90's i believe so it was probably about 15 years old. We have older yet from the 80's, but that is all only training stuff now and we are getting ready to sell some of it. We recently (since this video) purchase new Draeger SCBA to outfit all of our apparatus.
nice!!! My best time is 1min 32 secs. Of course we try to always remain under 2 minutes. Keep up the good work and remain safe. Richton Mississippi Volunteer Fire
Shoot for 60 seconds, it CAN be done! (boots, pants, coat, hood,SCBA mask w/seal check, gloves, all straps hooked) I havent gotten that far yet, I did a 1:13 but failed on neck exposure and forgot seal check!
i consistently get 1:02 at fire school from duty uniform (with laced boots) to on air. they check our pants (the guys in this video didnt secure their pants) all velcro has to be secured, SCBA knob all the way turned on, seal on facepiece checked, hood tucked in, helmet tight, gloves all the way on and straps on the pack tightened properly. my fastest time is :58.
it easy not to miss the truck tell everybody to put there pants on grab there jacket and jump on the rig have your mask and gloves on your jacket and put hood in pocket then get dress on the way to the call your not going to put your mask on untill you get out of your truck
thank you mcclurefire for the clarification and confirmation. lets hope that all understand both of our points concerning this. How I evaluate our membership is that they do a great response and return uninjured and alive.
Again, I stress a more calmer determined appearance. Remember this. The turnouts and scba's your wearings first occupation is to keep you safe so you can then do what is required. A frantic response time is a liability if it results in a casualty to any responders. Get there quickly and calmly is always the priority. This measuring how good a company is by its response time has corrupted the real purpose of responding. more to follow,,,,,
Yes, I believe that the majority of the comments posted on this video assume that we rush like this on calls. No so. The last thing we need is for a member to get injured due to carelessness preparing to go in or something. However, every now and then some of them just like to show off at training. This is by know means how we actually perform these tasks, just a couple of guys showing off...nothing more.
takes practice to do a good job in that amount of time. i however want my volunteers to take that calming breath, do it correctly and never race to suit up. minute 16 is damn good.
Wow, your SCBA's are different from ours. :D Along with your turnouts. Mine are velcro bottom, button then clip. ^^ Wicked vid. I am looking at vids for when I have to do my TurnOut test. T-T

winklax44 2 years ago
2 Minutes.
NewAgeServerAlarm 1 year ago
If your going by NFPA standards then they should also have the helmet secured before donning the scba over the head too

What's good with the modern rigs is the scba is molded into the aparatus seating cutting down on "BDU dress time" at the scene
Good show
