Sun Princess was the best filly of her age but she ran into one of the best fillies of all time, Time Charter at her best could beat the colts and had a turn of foot second to none as she proved in the Dubai Champion Stake [can be seen on YouTube] it was no disgrace to be beaten by her. Time Charter was Champion Filly for 3 years and was a Great Brood Mare.
Sun Princess's Oaks win is one of the most spectacular wins I've ever seen.I remember Dick Hern saying that if she'd relax enough forthem to train her properly then she would have been a SUPER filly.But the only time they got her to relax was in that Oaks race where she destroyed them.She was so highly strung that they could barely gallop her without her bolting.
@sheedysvsign She's certainly in my top 5...along with Pebbles, Triptych, Ouija Board and Zarkava. Everyone will have their own choices, but I wouldn't change mine in a hurry, even if they couldn't win every race.
