@tomahawked1 I understand as well, I know plenty of Rangers fans who think Lundqvist is a god and Devils fans who still think Marty is in top form (see, I don't discriminate, Im willing to admit what Marty's been doing for the last 1-2 years has been just as bad for goaltending). Learn a little something, how about watching the goalies on each individual play rather then listening to Rosen and Michelletti rubbing up against the crotches of NYR fans and calling ever Lundqvist save a "miracle"?

All. Luck. Lundqvist is the most overrated player of the last 10 years + possibly the worst thing to happen to the game. Now there will be a generation of goalies dependent on oversized equipment, unaggressive positioning, consistently facing 35-40 bad angle softies vs 20-25 quality shots, and depending almost completely on the high-percentage capability of the modern butterfly and not on improvisation and reflexes. Don't even mention this clown in the same sentence as Sawchuk, Roy, or Hasek.

@danzoeee No, I'm just not going with public opinion and saying "oh wow his save percentage and goals against average makes him so good!" His defense is incredible and persistent, coached by a guy who knows how to get the most out of them, and 85% of the shots he saves dont get more than 5 inches off the ice. He faces more shots than 95% of goaltenders per game but less quality chances than all but 7 other goalies. If you want to beat him, shoot above those truck-sized pads of his.

@theatlantisrise Well, since you obviously dont know there are regulations about goaltenders gear, so his "truck-sized pads" isn't bigger then anyone else :) You are still ignorant. Imma tell you why just cause the fun of it, Lundqvist has been the Rangers "core" for the last years, when their defence was let's say "not that good" he had 92 SV% that took a quite poor team to the playoffs year after year.

@danzoeee Save percentage is a ridiculous statistic. Backstrom and Lehtonen are also guys who have a higher save percentage than Brodeur, Roy, Sawchuk, and Plante among other legends. If you look at quality shots, nobody faces fewer than Lundqvist. His defense is a phenomenal, underrated unit of players who can block quality shots and force lots of EASY SHOTS from bad angles to keep their goalie's rhythm going. Throw almost any NHL goalie on NYR today and he'd be better.
