  • Ahhhh......I miss Aloha airines......you can see it at 1:32.

  • Great video, thanks for posting it. My wife and I have taken the same flight.

  • A 757 cannot fly that far, Northwest does NOT have a 767, but an Airbus A330 is perfectly suitable for that route. Maybe they use a 747 because many people from Japan travel to Hawaii.

  • "Flight 22 is off to Honolulu" The Avalanches = Win!

  • good video sir!! 5 stars!

  • it looks like a cool flight simulator. where did you get this?

  • this is real life

  • This is real!!!

  • how long was the flight to honolulu from narita?

  • It's 6 hours and 40 minutes.

  • what color was the fuselage?

Current livery (2003-present), or the '90s livery?

  • Alohaaaa,,,welcome to honolulu,,i think thats a rough landing,,enjoy our musubi@ 7/11..hmmm yummy ,,,yummmy

  • That landing was beautiful. Maybe one day I will experience it for myself... in Honolulu.

  • i didnt hear the rverse thrust! smoooooth landing love NWA!

  • I have bad memory s of the last time i flew wit h northwest verry bad sevice hard landing and a alcoholic sterwart

  • wow! I dont like them to since I found out they have the oldest fleet. But they have a lot of 787s on order. We switched to NWA since the people of PAL dont know how to perform CPR when something happened to my uncle.

  • Really? You had a previous experience on PAL that was horrendous?

  • can a 757-200 make this route easily?

  • I'd doubt it. I think it's a little out of the 757's range, but I don't know. A 767 could do it easily though

  • 757 can make it, range of the 752 about 3800nmi.

  • @virus86 They have the oldest fleet because of their DC-9's. Now Delta is flying the old NWA DC-9's. They sure keep their planes for a long time though. Sheesh, its a little scary.

  • seems like it was a smooth landing

  • Yea when I flew in there from KATL, I was on the right side and it was turning dark. It was scary as they turned in and it seemed the water was going to to hit the wing.

  • they have to land manually

  • is this the old or the new livery?

  • Now do thay land manually or on Auto-Pilot???

  • Theres no autopilot function that will automaticly land the plane. There are functions that will line it up perfectly with the plane and take it to a certain speed and altitude, but the pilot will land it fully manually with no autopilot. He'll turn it off at a certain altitude

  • That's not true. The autopilot will land the airplane completely. It's called a "coupled" landing. The Flight Control Computer will land the aircraft while the crew monitors everything.

  • While this is true, given the weather conditions at HNL and the fact that HNL doesn't have a Cat 2 or 3 approach, this was probably a hand flown approach and landing.

  • Thats only on Flight Simulator ;)

  • Excellent video ! Hawaiian Islands look just grand.

    It's nice to fly in a 747-400 :)

  • hehe next time you should tape it from the other side. Its fun to freak people out because all they see is the water just till they land
