Those were my party members too! Ayla and Frog I mainly used for healing and Crono was the attacker. I ran into problems when Lavos decided to confuse them, though.

When I was about 8, I was shopping for a game for my SNES. There was this game and a Yogi Bear game I couldn't decide on. I chose the Yogi Bear game. This decision altered the future forever and will only hasten the coming of Lavos. We must travel back in time, to the year 1996, and punch my 8 year old self in the face for being a complete idiot. This will make me come to my senses and choose Chrono Trigger, thus altering the future, and saving the world from utter annihilation from Lavos.

This is one of the few battle theme which I like completely and not just one or two parts of.

The screech, the slow part from 0:06 to 0:29, the upbeat part after that and the part where it slows down and the loops on itself and I like how he added a small screech before it looped. The whole thing from beginning to end is enjoyable.

I defeated this boss rather easily with a team of Crono, Frog, and Marle. All you have to do (if you equip your party properly, i'll post my party's equipment in a response) is have Crono use Confuse to one hit the far-left lavos bit, then either have crono use luminaire to take out the middle lavos while doing damage to the far-right one, or use Ice-sword 2 (luminaire takes more MP, but damages both enemies. Ice Sword 2 does more damage but only hits one). When they are revived, just repeat.

The more I learn about the way the japanese mastermind's like Yasunori Metsuda and Shoji Yamashiro like to really make us FEEL, the more beautiful it becomes. Just get Chrono with the rainbow sword, Ayla and frog to spam their Dual tech...kick something. It deals insane dmg since Chrono always crits and the dual tech with Frog and Ayla deals more than the tripple techs O.O

You can use pretty much any combination of characters you wish and be able to beat the game. That's the beauty of it.

Personally, I like Marle, Crono and Ayla. Crono and Marle have a group heal spell, and Crono + Ayla and Marle + Ayla have some nice dual techs.

I'm not strong enough to face Lavos yet, but currently I'm using Crono, Lucca and Magus. They deal tons of damage, only downside is that they don't have healing techs, so I have to resort to items.

Thanks, but I already beat him using the three I mentioned, I just spammed Luminaire, Flare and Dark Matter and used a few Megalixirs when necessary. Double and Triple techs aren't really worth it at the later parts of the game because the strongest offensive magic already deals massive damage and you don't have to waste all of your character's turns for one simultaneous attack.

Now to get all endings, I'm trying to use all the characters I really didn't before, including Robo.

Frog is cool and chrono is chrono. Magnus has a cape and is pretty cool for a mage. He makes me want to get mage armor.

the lavos in black omen is really easy

the only hard part is the head (impossible on first game,need new game+)just have chrono and frog wear a gold stud,chrono use luminare and frog use heal,.use a strong double attack when your health is high and inside is weaker

Actually, I know someone who beat Lavos his first time through the game. He thought it was the final boss fight and so he leveled up until he could beat him. It was really sick, I've never seen it done before, and I doubt I'll ever see it happen again.

Very few games have the dynamic appeal to sell a remake in high numbers. The best of the best, the pioneers in gaming.. such as Final Fantasy 7.. as kick ass of a game that I believe CT was, i just dont think it has that many distinct followers to remake it... but do i think they need to make a 3rd installment? OFCOURSE! never too late to capture the gamers that werent there to appreciate Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross with a new one.. Square needs to get on this! CT is one of the best RPG ever

yeah, seeing old classics redone with next-gen technology is kinda cool, but in my opinion, they're almost never as good as the original.

for example, chrono trigger is a wonderful game that has withstood the test of time, but if you go back and play it you'll notice that certain "feel" that makes it truly unique. If they were to make a PS3 version of it, it just wouldn't have that special something that made it so great on SNES.

Mainly because, although the cel-shaded style that it would share with Dragonball if it was remade would be cool, it just doesn't have that same feeling as playing with SNES graphics. Besides, in my opinion, I don't believe that video games look good with that style. Cartoons can do it, but not a remake of one of the best games ever.

Heres a good example, if they remade say dragon warrior (nes) for playstation 3, it would almost look like a completly different game if anything be more like dw8 for ps2 but still more or less have all the things that made it a classic. Chrono Resurrection was just too animated in 3D, in my opinion. If they remade Chrono Trigger for the PS3, trust me, there wouldn't be enough sales of it. I wouldn't be interested in buying it since I've already beaten the game.

Look up Chrono Break - there were some screen captures of it, and it did look interesting. Too bad Square scrapped it. But anyway, a Chrono 3 would be awesome.
