I love my dog and my dog loves me. Can I marry my dog?

People of California voted for Prop 8 with an overwhelming majority. Why do a few biased judges overturn the people's will. USA is a country of democracy. People vote on the issue and the majority wins. The courts should not be involved and decide with biases.

@sfsd911 52% to 48% is not an overwhelming majority. Also, the constitution prevents the majority from ruling on the rights of the minority without good reason. There is no good reason, therefore no vote can be valid. Besides, if it were valid we might well find that tomorrow it's your rights they'll be voting away. I'm sure you'd change your tune then.

@ichimonji1988 Then you tell me what is the purpose of our voting system? We may as well adopt a dictatorship where the govt, politicians, elected officials and some judges decide everything for us and make all the rules for us.
