Don't you think having metal shavings in your tuna would be more harmful than if its a little stale from the pouch? Besides, the pouch is good for a year at least. Pretty likely that you'll eat it all long before that.

I've been vandwelling since 2007 and I'm always trying to learn new stuff and surviving with low income to no income. Preparing ahead of time helps. A very helpful video
A rat trap (not a mouse trap) and a tube of peanut butter will provide you with all the squirrel you can eat. Provided you want to SURVIVE and not just play with your awesome "survival bug-out bag".
First Survivalist I've seen on YouTube to include a rat/mouse trap in his survival kit. Rodents are plentiful if unappetizing. Most wannabe survivalists include snares, fishing line and hooks - be serious. First, in an urban situation try to find a body of water that is unpolluted with fish in it. Second, I could give 95% of people the best, high-tech fishing gear available and THEY WOULDN'T CATCH ANYTHING. And snares?!? Please. Stop basing your survival on strategies from 50 years ago.
If I have to eat rats I think I'd rather off myself and go meet God instead---after a certain point,is all the stress of so-called "surviving" worth it ?!
Bleach is a great idea, sooo many uses. Sanitation is what separates civilization from mass of people dying by disease and diarrhea. Water filters a great idea for back-up too. Check out the LifeStraw.
Cody shows again. Its not about a lot of money or high tech equipment to be prepared for low live. Just a bottle of bleach and a few common basich foods that are easy to store and cook. Add a torch, radio, batteries and some water container. Even me in two rooms appartment can be prepared like this for whatever happens.
the reporter in the store is annoying as FUCK. Let cody say what he has to, instead of voicing over "CODY SAID..."

very educational, not only educational, but bits of worthy info like in this vid could literally determine between life and death. less than 7% of ppl have a clue! sad, but at the end of the day, fuck em, they should've been smart enough not to soley rely on "the grid". be prepared! ya never know when you might need this knowledge, especially the way this world is goin!
the government doesnt want americans to be able to survive, or do anything independently...the government wants its slaves very dependant on it, willing to obey their master in exchange for protection...and you flubs are doing a beautiful job

They stay in power by being "useful" even if there is nothing wrong, they create a crisis and then offer a solution to the crisis they created, as they have done with firearms for so long in this country. Rely on dialing 911 for self-defense, rely on FEMA for real disaster aid, etc.
Another good use for bleach: In the event of a disaster concerning chemicals, be it a chemical attack such as by terrorists, or a quantity being released due to say, a fire at a chemical plant or other such scenario, bleach can be used to clean up items contaminated with it. Needless to say, don't do this to yourself. Use charcoal to clean skin.

chlorine is a horrible way to purify water. It mixes with the organic chemicals in the water to form chloroform. Use iodine! It's an overlooked, vilified necessary nutrient.

I think he only wears shoes if the condition is incredibly cold. Ice and snow, he'll wear shoes and high socks, from what I've seen. I've never seen him wear heavy duty boots.
@danceblast15 yes, cold is different story. had an argue with some youtuber about that a bit ago :D some places he wears sandals, that's where he's not allowed to go in barefoot. but generally he's walking barefoot.
@ikqz... When I was Younger I knew EVERYTHING about everything and everyone...then life happened...and I realized I knew nothing about anything....basically the "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" quote applies here (bad pun).....
.........“Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.”
I like my feet tough. Prisoners of war were always stripped of their shoes as without them they were less likely to run. Going barefoot forces me to pay attention to my environment. I see more, I have better focus, I feel a greater connection to the planet; all very valuable survival traits. On the “everyday life” side of things, the majority of the situations in my life do not require footwear…so why would I consume a resource when it’s not necessary?
Saw his first book on the shelf, thought it was gonna be a funny read,,,just by the title. So left it there. Somehow got ahold of his second book...and Codi's Right. Do something, Do anything, Even if it seems a crackpot idea!!!
Nail file, knife, nail clippers, fork, spoon, there's litterally not a utensil of metal you can't open a can with.. it just takes a bit of brain and a bit of brawn and a bit of time..
This guys a little far out, but hes right you need to be ready and he has a lot of good information....but seriously, whats with the bare feet? ive seen him on TV living out in the woods and shit and he actually goes out there barefoot for days at a time. wtf does that prove? lmao
@malayrojak this guys got his own TV show...he can afford shoes. and how can it feel good stepping on sticks and jagged rocks with no shoes on? lets use common sense here.
@skew06 Like he said in the show Dual Survival, When we as humans didnt wear shoes, our feet were strong, but now that we wear shoes practically all the time, our feet are weak, hes trying to get his feet strong again.
@Kylef7735 well, as long as i am smart enough to fashion shoes, or buy shoes, i think that it is far far superior than bragging about having tough feet, but hey to each their own, i throw no stones.
@GiggleHz i didnt say i would, you just seem to take stuff for granted, and something might happen we never know. I respect the way of living of every person. And i do respect your opinion, thank god we aren't all the same, or this would be a pretty boring world.
@Anathor1 eh no, someone was condemning the use of shoes as causing weak feet, i said that as soon as humans were smart enough they made shoes, and i dont really see any purpose of bragging about having tough feet as we are now sufficiently smart enough to make shoes, i mean hell if hes gonna go caveman and go no shoes, take off the clothing too i mean, maybe clothing is what made us lose our fur or some shit, in for a penny in for a pound.
@GiggleHz To be really honest with you, i dont think this discussion will take us anywhere... diferent opinions diferent points of view. Lets leave at that.
@GiggleHz: Lets just say we were "smart" enough to create hard pavements and shoes and ruined our feet and joints in the process. ;) I walk barefeet for about a month a year while camping on an island and it is pure bliss for my feet. When I return to civilisation everytime I notice how walking on concrete in shoes is practically painful compared to bare feet walking.
@Trampadoo Thumbs UP!!! Shoes and feet are just the begining. Most people dont even know where thier food comes from, or how it is processed. Let alone identify the difference between plants that are edible or how to grow them. Textiles..tanning,shearing, scutching, spinning, weaving, and making in useful things.
@SundayPonder: Exactely. When you think about it it is really shocking how we've turned ourselfs into some kind of invalids. We don't have a freaking clue about anything anymore and if we are thrown out there we are lost. o_O
@GiggleHz: Yeah, and as soon as humans got "smart" enough to create weapons of mass destruction they started they did and used them. Same with fast food and bad telly. Not everything we create and is more convenient is also good in the short or long run. That kind of attitude lead us to pretty much ruin this planet with a century. How awesome.
That's just Cody. It's his own personal survival philosophy.
His philosophy is "work with nature for survival, not against it." He does wear sandals and even boots as the terrain or situation requires. He knows His body's limits.
I find the whole hippy bushman "no shoes no pants" logic extremely counter-intuitive, considering he is teaching amateurs HOW TO SURVIVE IN A DISASTER.
@MultiCrisper That's just Cody. It's his own personal survival philosophy. Not wearing shoes forces him to pick his steps and take it slow, which allows him to pick out things most people would miss. His philosophy is "work with nature for survival, not against it." He does wear sandals and even boots as the terrain or situation requires.
Don't you think having metal shavings in your tuna would be more harmful than if its a little stale from the pouch? Besides, the pouch is good for a year at least. Pretty likely that you'll eat it all long before that.

This guys a little far out, but hes right you need to be ready and he has a lot of good information....but seriously, whats with the bare feet? ive seen him on TV living out in the woods and shit and he actually goes out there barefoot for days at a time. wtf does that prove? lmao

@skew06
Here are my thoughts/suggestions:
- Maybe the man can't afford shoes
- He likes going barefoot (ever heard of free balling?)
- Aside from the disadvantages, barefoot walking is said to have benefits. (Google/wikipedia is your friend)
Peace.

@Kylef7735 His skin is still skin when he legs it through a city.

@Kylef7735 hes an idiot, i guarantee you, as soon as humans got smart enough to make shoes, they did.
GiggleHz 1 year ago
@GiggleHz And their feet have been weakening since.
Kylef7735 1 year ago
@Kylef7735 well, as long as i am smart enough to fashion shoes, or buy shoes, i think that it is far far superior than bragging about having tough feet, but hey to each their own, i throw no stones.
GiggleHz 1 year ago
@GiggleHz i didnt say i would, you just seem to take stuff for granted, and something might happen we never know. I respect the way of living of every person. And i do respect your opinion, thank god we aren't all the same, or this would be a pretty boring world.
Anathor1 1 year ago
@Anathor1 eh no, someone was condemning the use of shoes as causing weak feet, i said that as soon as humans were smart enough they made shoes, and i dont really see any purpose of bragging about having tough feet as we are now sufficiently smart enough to make shoes, i mean hell if hes gonna go caveman and go no shoes, take off the clothing too i mean, maybe clothing is what made us lose our fur or some shit, in for a penny in for a pound.
GiggleHz 1 year ago
@GiggleHz To be really honest with you, i dont think this discussion will take us anywhere... diferent opinions diferent points of view. Lets leave at that.
Anathor1 1 year ago
@Anathor1 u dont wanna argue about shoes?
GiggleHz 1 year ago

We don't have a freaking clue about anything anymore and if we are thrown out there we are lost. o_O

@Trampadoo Some people even eat that compost from Dominos PIzza

@GiggleHz: Yeah, and as soon as humans got "smart" enough to create weapons of mass destruction they started they did and used them. Same with fast food and bad telly. Not everything we create and is more convenient is also good in the short or long run. That kind of attitude lead us to pretty much ruin this planet with a century. How awesome.

@GiggleHz
That's just Cody. It's his own personal survival philosophy.
His philosophy is "work with nature for survival, not against it." He does wear sandals and even boots as the terrain or situation requires. He knows His body's limits.
jscanyon 1 year ago
@GiggleHz Your feet will get stronger the longer you walk barefoot. Shoes might not always be there for you when some odd situation comes up...
Anathor1 1 year ago 2
@Anathor1 well, im not gonna endure for years for a situation that MIGHT happen, but hey if you wanna go barefoot go nuts
