65 years ago, when there were not yet CD's but 2-sided records, this Bruch's concerto always used to be on the other side of Mendelssohn's violin concerto in e-minor. My parents had hidden the record in the attic, because Mendelssohn was forbidden under the nazi government in Germany, 1944. Whenever I hear this music, the mysterious atmosphere in the attic comes to my mind!
music (should be) = feelings
