  • If only we had listened to Carter back then

  • This guy sounds and smells like Barack Obama.

  • @incrediblehulkmovies Yeah... You're a bit backwards.... If you look on the list of presidents Obama came after Carter.....

  • @lovingirls3 My point being they sound the same.

  • @incrediblehulkmovies Not entirely... If you watch Obama's addresses they are not focused on citizen cooperation like our friend Carter. Obama's address is policy based where they will create policies to combat it. Carter alternatively focuses on citizens cooperation to combat it. They are going for the same thing but they are not singing the same tune.

  • Rockin' the sweater like a boss

  • People are hatin' on Jimmy because he couldn't quite fix the economy or solve the Iran hostage crisis. But his accomplishments outweighed his failures, and he set a damn good example for the American people. His energy policy was for our own good, he was trying to save our asses, but people now reject him as a failed president. Go figure

  • @kalinga01

By having more government into our lives is the wrong choice.

  • he was better than the warmongering zealot, religious nutjob , mr corporate sponsored fuck up the economy reagan

  • @moonsugar1 Jimmy Carter is still alive...

  • @thejarz Then I shall take that comment and with it bake a nice humble pie! My only excuses being Im British and a musician. lol

  • @moonsugar1 :) To be fair, he's no spring chicken, but he's still out there, changing the world :D

  • @thejarz On a totally unrelated topic, I should probably you that your suicidal elmo video, made me spit coffee over my screen with laughter ;)

  • The Saudis keep getting richer while our own oil reserves are kept out of production and people in the oil industry are losing their jobs.

  • This was how many years ago? And we still don't have a coherent energy policy. Coal is pretty much off the table now. With the problems of Fukujuma, the future of nuclear energy is in doubt. Solar power is not yet affordable. Wind power can only be relied upon for a small percentage of our needs.

  • Nice speech!

  • Hey! That fire is causing global warming, er, climate change, er, greenhouse effect.. Whatever they're calling it these days.

  • OK Gut check for Liberals . Before Obama Jimmy Carter was the absolute WORST President EVER in USA history. If you can't come to that conclusion about Carter you went from being a Liberal Idiot To a Liberal Moron

  • @1ThinkingMachine How are Liberals morons ?If i remember correctly it was a Repulican who gave Immmigration Reform to more than 10 illegal immigrants , it was a Republican who sold weapons to terrorists, it was a Republican who invaded the wrong nation , it was a Republican who completely sold this country to the corporations it was a Republicans idea that cutting taxes for the rich would help our economy but you know what ? It didnt work, Republicans and Rightwing Democrats are the problem.

  • @777Atheist

Both the left and the right are the problem.

because neither of them are the solution, this is a battle between americans vs. globalists

and who cares about tax cuts bullshit, it does nothing, end the income tax

    RON PAUL 2012.

  • "To bring order out of chaos". Wow. This man reintroduced the Ayatollah (then in exile in France) BACK into Iran, for "destabilizing" political purposes - essentially, ushering IN the radical Muslim element we now so enjoy. A brief historical examination will show you that during the Shah's rule, we had a fledgling democracy in Iran. Also - this man gave AWAY the Panama Canal - that tremendous engineering miracle that WE created, which is now owned by the Chinese. Yup, gave it away. Such order.

  • Mister Rodgers!!!! ...oh wait

  • probably the worst president ever. being challenged by Barrack Obama.

  • Where is he speaking at? It don't look like the oval office.

  • @donaldnewton58 Its the Library lol.

  • How tragic that this opportunity for the US to make a big change on time was missed. We can but hope they finally learned and manage to catch up on time!!!

  • Thank you posting this. Carter was an amazingly different President. I wish I was old enough to really remember when he was President (I was born in 1973).

  • @AmericanRuffian

Too bad, he is a CFR member and will not get my support.

  • What's with the Mr. Rogers approach!

  • Thanks Jimmy for giving us the Energy Department! What a wonderful return on our tax dollars that's turned out to be...

  • @jawmo1

    Got that right.

  • @jawmo1

Got that right, Big government is a disaster and always will be.

  • @jawmo1

    Got that right.

    fuck both parties.

  • Carter MOST CERTAINLY installed the solar panels! Then Reagan "in a fit & rage" immediately removed them once in office! Carter wanted to reduce US dependency on Middle East oil, but the oil companies would have none of that! Not only for profits, but because securing these regions & its supplies is "veto power" over Europe & Asia! Typical imperial thinking! This was one of the few good things Carter did! People need to give the credit where & when he deserved it!

  • Carter had solar panels installed on the roof of the White house.

Reagan had them taken downwhen he moved in.

    "nough said.

One is a visionary. One is an arrogant dope.

  • Neither of those statements is true. Carter never installed them and Reagan never removed them.

  • are true, not is true. And Both of your statements are false. THey were installed and removed.

  • Because carter was big government.

  • Thank God Reagan rescued us from this disastrous simpleton!

  • Amen to that. Carter=worst president in US history, with the exception of Obama

  • I pray that we survive BO with a decent government - he's working hard to destroy democracy.

  • what about Jackson? or Eisenhower, or Lincoln? didn't bush violate more laws than any president in US history?

  • not only hopeless but in danger of being over-ran by islam.

  • Wow. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, has changed in this country since this speech was given. We're still hopeless.

  • Reagen fucked it up!

    Reagen fucked up health care!

Reagen opened doors wide to lobbyist!

Reagen greatly expanded govt..not for the people..for privite profit which has taken over our rights!

    Reagen made the deficit soar!

Reagen labled Carter(doom and gloom)and proceded take america down the road of living on credit!

Carter was a submarine comander..Reagen was an actor who starred with a monkey.

Now we have a monkey as president!

    dumbfucks!!

  • @gopconservative94 hey ur name is GOPconservative. Im a Republican myself and what u said was bullshit. You are disgrace to all Republicans and Americans period.

  • As you said, Reagan ruined America.

What Reagan could not complete George W. Bush has done so.

The legacy of conservativism will be grim.

We are financial and morally bankrupt after a generation of right wing ideals running America into the ground.

  • you think you sound so smart by calling our president Monkey? Do you feel important making comments like this on youtube?

  • It didn't work back then, and it won't work now.

Reagan got it right, Carter got it wrong.

  • agreed, Reagan the greatest President

  • Thank You for posting this! 5 stars

    Electric- Wind, Wave, and Solar power;

Just think how far this technology would have progressed....with this wiser energy policy.

Time to be patriotic about ending the energy crisis...President Carter set a good example.

Time for us to learn from the past! YouTube- " a road not taken "

" Killing the Electric Car - USA "

  • @yorkiebell

But carter was about more taxes, more regulation and more controls.

  • @yorkiebell

Too bad he was also into big government, more controls into our lives.

  • @yorkiebell

Too bad he is a member of the CFR and the trilaterial commission which is ready to destroy american sovereignty.

  • Carter was to honest to be the President. He done a darn good job!

  • Comment removed

  • @DoubleTalkingJive other than this carter didnt do anything while reagan did tons to taxes, national security, and the economy. so yeah carter did "so much" when he was president

  • Dedication and sacrifice from a nation of gluttonous, indulgent children? Hah! And a lost chance at 32 years of advancement in sustainable energy policy. Thanks to Reagan and the NEOCONS that followed him for keeping the status quo for the last 32 years and digging our energy hole even deeper. Idiots.
