  • who's singing this. It cant' be Susan Surandon

  • I forgot that letting people have their own opinions was too much to ask of a fandom.

  • No "tell us about it janet" ?! That's one of mi fav lines

  • sex sounds press 4 6 times then 5 one time.

  • I love that they start singing Hot Patootie at 1:50.

  • A friend and I sung this loudly during music class. People looked at us with the weirdest look.

  • I personally love Rocky Horror Picture Show but I was showed here by Glee and I love both versions so I think fans of either should not bash on each other especially because their voices are so different.

  • @mrwinforthewin The thing is Glee didn't give a very clear idea of what the movie was about. I think it would be stupid for someone to say that they know what Rocky Horror is about when they've only seen the Glee version.

  • @youtubrgirl12345 isn't the point of Rocky Horror to be stupid, so you go to make fun of it.

  • @mrwinforthewin I am going to fight this until the end of my life now.

After seeing both versions, you can EASILY tell Glee did a terrible job of portraying the characters in The Rocky Horror [Picture] Show. The main focus of it was for them to sing well, and in singing well they alluded the fact that characters need their character. Therefore, you heard good singing, but there wasn't the right emotion for the song, and it personally ruined it for myself since RHPS is supposed to be crazy!!

  • @Marzelkey glee also didn't show as much emotion in their songs .

  • Alan Watts is amazing at the beginning!

  • I prefere the film's version, but this one is mythic !

  • @Nayesf12 Get out.

  • @Nayesf12 You do know this version was the original cast? Which means there were other casts, the movie, the concerts, and all around MANY VERSIONS OF THE SAME SONG? All of which came before Glee, which sucked compared to the original.

  • @Nayesf12 gtfo, glee is terrible and will NEVER be better than rocky horror. people like you are the reason some RH fans hate glee.

  • also ich mag das von glee mehr aber das is auch cool

  • @LenaDelovely no it's belinda sinclair singing this. julie got sick before recording sessions XD but later she would be with rocky horror costars little nell & tim curry in Rock Follies of 77!!!

  • janets voice is kinda bland!

they should of filmed segmants from the old play!

    it would be worth alot!

  • I REALLY WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THIS SHOW :(

  • Hot Patootie randomly in the middle of it??!?! hahaha i love this!

  • I love this Version : )

  • @thatRetroGuy70s I think Susan's version sounds sooo much better than this chick's version in my opinion. Her vioce isn't as annoying as this girls... :}

  • @LenaDelovely Thanks!!!! I love her voice!

  • JANET, YOU SLUT!

  • is this really Pat singing?

  • Oooooh, I like it! They worked in hot patootie! :D I love the originals of everything. (shrugs)

  • You know what's embarrassing? Having this song in your head at school, and trying to sing it without sounding like a pervert.

Oh whatever. I am a pervert.

  • @xXLilyStRegisXx try singing it in the bathroom and a group of people walking

  • @xXLilyStRegisXx even worse....having sweet transvestite stuck.....

Don't get strung out by the way that I look,

Don't judge a book by its cover

I'm not much of a man by the light of day,

But by night I'm one hell of a lover

    I'm just a Sweet Tran....oh never mind....

  • @greeneyedgeek I remember singing that loudly in the city at night with a group of friends... while giving out free sausages along with skeezy comments. Good times

  • @xXLilyStRegisXx Not to say about immortal verses as "I'm a sweet transexual from Transilvania" LOL

  • @xXLilyStRegisXx You know what's even more embarrassing? Singing it anyways and not caring that you sound like a pervert :P

  • i love toucha touch me, makes me feel dirty jajaja

  • This is how I'd sing it... Only I'd have electric guitars and kick up the tempo xD

  • Susan's version is better. Hands down. I guess her high pitched voice makes it fit the song better.

  • The legendary Ciccliona has a great cover of this.

  • is susan?

  • thank god glee introduced me to the rocky horror picture show!! I LOVE IT!!

  • god why can't i find this song by susan with the scene from the movie?!?!

  • Susan gave it innocence with her high key but sweet tone, Emma did quite the same except her key was much higher and she also rushes it.

I like the Susan's version most. This, to me is too rough.

  • @PatricianBeauty

and the "emma" version was heavily autotuned

  • @tizubythefizo I thought it sounded more like a chipmunk singing.

  • @tizubythefizo they did it to let sound the song a little innocent i'll think

  • I Like This Version But it seems rushed i like the slowness of the movie version but this is great!!!

  • 4 people don't want to be di-i-i-i-irty

  • i wish i could see the play back when nobody screamed the whole time. I mean, ive seen recent clips and all people do is laugh and scream and its so freaking annoying

  • nice mix with hot patotie

  • :]

  • Gleeks, gtfo. You don't know what RHPS is actually about.

  • @lizziedizzy5412 What about RHPS fans that watch glee and enjoyed it? Ever think of that smart ass

  • why am i watchin this when i could be watchin shane dawson make parodies

  • @TheBlazeXtreme

Well that goes into a further point, if you can't hit the notes right, you probably shouldn't sing it. Not hide behind autotune.

  • While I adore Susans version. She is NOT the original Janet, the show ran way before she was bought in for the movie.

  • Okay, I'm not closeminded or anything, but Susan Sarandon IS Janet, she just is, this doesn't really do it for me... at all... I know it's the original and all but it doesn't really seem right for the character.

  • @TheatreFanatic4eva Susan's portrayal of the Janet is so sweet and innocent, which I think is the REAL Janet.

  • I prefer that one,it's more powerful

  • and seat wetting!

  • @assiam you are right. The original versions of stuff should not have glee lovers.

  • @danielferrei

    get the fuck out, seriously.

  • @danielferrei Emmas version is awesome (Major Gleek btw) but Susan Sarandons version is the best, she will always Janet Weiss

  • @1987moo

I had to dislike just because "emmas" version was heavily autotuned.

  • @danielferrei You gotta be outa you're mind!

  • @mayrita32 No. Just. no.

  • @mayrita32 52 people prefer you die

  • @Walruson i prefer that people like you don't exist but that is not possible so keep your mouth close it looks good like that ;)

  • i think glee did good as well

  • @raff678 false. I love glee, really, i do, but that is false.

  • I think it's unfortaunte that this song is stuck in my head (Glee version). my mom jsut goes "don't start singing it down the hall."

  • Susan is my only Janet. I didn't felt this song was actually sung. And it for sure it wasn't as emotional as Susan.

  • hER vocals are great, maybe slightly better than susan's, but susan put more feeling and depth into her version. Susan does not sound as strong as the original girl did, but tht was part of the shy, timid and awkward character janet! I like susan version way better but this is great as well!!!

  • @iluvtheighties I agree that this girl is stronger sounding, but the song is also in a lower key! Susan sings pretty high in her version, but I completely agree! Susan will always be my Janet :D

  • Who played Magneta in the stageshow?

  • @Missmeggirl97 patricia quinn

  • @neratox that's who I thought

  • @Missmeggirl97 Richard O'Brien took himself, Tim Curry, Patricia Quinn and Little Nell from the original London cast to be in the movie.

  • The hot patootie lyrics being repeated show that this is literally one big repeat of the Eddie incident. I wish they left that in the movie; it made things a little bit clearer.

  • @ExclusiveCheese how so? What's unclear about it?

  • @wellesradio Most people I've met who've seen the movie didn't get the message.

  • @ExclusiveCheese I must be one of those people. Which message? I understand that the two songs have a similar chorus and this proves it, but plotwise how does it make a difference? Excluding the refrain actually avoids confusion.

  • @wellesradio Message=moral. About the evils of temptation. I thought Eddie was an example of what Brad and Janet could become. My mom laughed at Hot Patootie and called it a non-sequiter, which it isn't. In THIS song, Janet is on her way to becoming the next Eddie, and I think the Hot Patootie chorus drives that home.

  • @ExclusiveCheese Oh, ok. I get it. But now I'm even gladder that they left it off. You're probably right, but that would have been downright clunky, laboured writing with more than its share of sophomoric symbolism. And Superheroes does such a beautiful effortless job of hitting on those topics anyway. True, the result is Eddie becomes a bit of a non sequitr but no one in their right mind would have let a good song like Hot Patootie linger by the wayside. Besides, Meatloaf needs a role!

  • @ExclusiveCheese

(...continued) the only other problem I see with it is that we never get a chance to explore Eddie's character beforehand. The story invests so much in exploring Brad and Janet and not who Eddie was or what drove him. We know jack about him and even then we don't learn much until AFTER this scene and from what we can tell he had very little in common with Brad and Janet. So to the average viewer (and I've seen this movie a dozen times easily) it'd be needlessly confusing.

  • you know, in the original production after the song janet rips her bra off and dives at rocky

  • Comment removed

  • I love this version's chorus but it seems the rest is too static, too forced. I'm not putting down the girl's acting ability but it just doesn't sound like a girl who's begging to be touched. haha

  • I love how o Brian sings along with someone else(I geuss rocky) "hot patootie bless my soul, I really love that rock and roll" in the chorus... awesome song, I like Sarandon's version better tho

  • i like the other verison

  • its great to see what parts of the song have developed for the better

for example the "more more more"

and how closely they stuck to the original :D

    <3

  • i love her "diiiirty!" in the chorus!

  • Same here, haha.

  • Comment removed

  • @Tollekarte totally...it's the reason why i listen to that xDD

  • i like it better w/ pat and nell in the background, but i do like this. the end made me lol

  • I like this but I'll always love Susan Sarandon. She made me laugh during the song and it wasn't so awkward to watch a woman feign orgasm or to watch a man rub all over a woman's booobs.

  • i like susan sarandons version...i mean she IS janet..bt this is pretty coool.

  • Susan Sarandon, although absolutely amazing, is NOT Janet. This is the original, that means THIS is Janet, no matter what you're used to.

  • @babytoki3 well if you want to get TECHNICAL, Sarandon is the Rocky Horror PICTURE Show Janet. This woman (sorry, don't know her name...) is the Rocky Horror Show Janet. Even though RHPS is the film version of RHS, they're not carbon copies. But... I love both versions, and I'm sure this Janet was just as wonderful as the one on the big-screen so what does it matter, right? :D

  • @thetweedldee93 me too

  • @thetweedldee93 this is.

  • I actually really like this version ^.^

  • where did u get this material from?

  • susan ftw o.0

  • What do you mean by that?

This isn't susan sarandon, this is the original cast.

  • I don`t know if this isn`t Susan....

  • its not her its Julie Covington

  • @adarov

Nope it's not Julie Covington(she was in the OLC but she's not in the recording), this is Belinda Sinclair who replaced Julie due to an accident.

  • lol how do u know that? :P

    i see u really into this ^^

  • theres an enormous global appreciation of rocky horror, there are midnight shows in quite a few cities til this day.

  • theres an enormous global appreciation of rocky horror. there are still midnight showings on a regular basis in many cities. there are people out there that know as much if not more about rocky horror than the creator himself richard obrien.
