Wilko is a genius. He made out like he was going for a drop goal, which is exactly what the All Black defenders were expecting. Instead, he did a chip kick, chased the ball, grabbed it and went over for a soft try. It completely fooled the opposition. They were not ready for it.

the same as most sports really, if the team is going to receive a free kick or penalty but are in posession, then the ref wont stop the play and let them have the momentum, the advantage is over when theyve had enough time to do something or if the opposing team steals possesion during advantage and the free kick/penalty is awarded instead
advantage is when 1 team commits a penalty, like a knock on, but the other team comes away with the ball and is moving forward. advantage continues until the ball goes dead..... i think ;)

This was a helluva game, there were a few like that at HQ in the early noughties.
Wilko and Carter are the best two out-halves I've seen.
I was there at Wellington for the Lions test in 05 when Carter gave the world a masterclass in how to play at 10. But I've seen Wilko do much the same many times.
Carter is faster but here's a question, if your house / life depended on it, who would you go for to get you those three points?
I'm open minded, but I think my money would go on Jonny.

Seen them both mate - both great players. Different. Can't say I've yet seen Carter respond to playing under pressure the way Jonny did in his prime. Carter's had the luxury of front-foot play more than JW.

Good god, an outhalf kicking? What next? The man has the medals to prove he was an absolutely world class player and for me the best outhalf I've seen since I've been watching rugby along with Larkham (completely different type of ten). Carter has looked good at times but I'll reserve judgement until he does it at a world cup.

the same as most sports really, if the team is going to receive a free kick or penalty but are in posession, then the ref wont stop the play and let them have the momentum, the advantage is over when theyve had enough time to do something or if the opposing team steals possesion during advantage and the free kick/penalty is awarded instead

advantage is when 1 team commits a penalty, like a knock on, but the other team comes away with the ball and is moving forward. advantage continues until the ball goes dead..... i think ;)

Basicly, if a team commits a penalty, but whilst they commit it the opposite team has the ball, that team are given advantage until the ball goes dead. If the ball goes dead whilst the advantage is still there, the referee goes back to the penalty.

For those commenting on Richie McCaw, he is the best 7 in the world and probably the best player in the world,to play well at 7 you have to be streetwise,Openside flanker probably the hardest position on the field, and richie mccaw is awsome. Apart from that, god england were good then, best in the world at 2003, shit from then on.
