  • BRAVO!! BRILLIANT!

  • @Supre2000.....In what area did you work for Libeace? I knew him for a lot of years, too and knew most of the people who worked for him. I also miss him terribly but am thankful that he is now on YouTube for a whole new generation to enjoy.

  • What is the forth peice he played in his medley? It is beautiful and i must learn it! Can anybody tell me the name and composer please? Thanks

  • It's called the "Warsaw Concerto".

  • @sehtdragon Thanks! who is it by?

  • @sehtdragon don't worry thanks for your help!

  • @sehtdragon Its Rachmanioff c# prelude

  • I never met him but I love him cause he seems so nice. There's an endearing quality about his way. Nothing more need be said. Luv Ya L!

  • This was in melbourne Austrailia correct?

  • Moonlight sonata 1st movement + rachmaniov's perlude in c sharp minor + classical master pieces = godlike but not as good as Alkan's festin d'esope

  • I REMEMBER HIS LAST APPEARANCE ON OPRAH A FEW MONTH BEFORE IS PASSING.

  • @umaara100 Would be interesting to watch that now but I don't think it's available

  • @umaara100 Thank you for the memory

  • Another great talent from the days of great talent in quanity. The days long past and sadly missed.

  • This must have been almost 2 years before he died, he looked a bit drawn here, his face looked thinner, possibly early signs of Aids taking effect.

  • He was an amazing performer. My father had played for him several times under contract. The thing that most puzzles me is that all the piano greats of his time were jealous because he could play just as well as any of them. His sense of interpretations were immaculate. He was an artist and all artist even his critics are blessed for they have given music to the world for our enjoyment. God bless all those who contribute to this wonderful place.

  • I had the astute honor of meeting Liberace's sister Dora in Las Vegas in 1984. Liberace presented me with an autographed photo and Dora gave an exquisite Tour of his incredible collections. As a boy of 12, my mother hand made a full tuxedo with tails and I performed Rosini's William Tell Overture for the entire student body at Madison Jr. High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I was never offended by his gayness...I only admired his incredible talents..!

  • @mrboogie107

    Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata

  • @ObsidianRider thanks

  • wtf, he is THAT fast on the piano... with the freaking golden rings on his fingers lol!

    damn he is good

  • @SilveradoNL he is wearing rings because his finger are too fast for his control because he trained with weights on his fingers so the rings help him slow his fingers down. He should have really played cziffra's version of flight of the bumblebee

  • I was lucky to be at the Museum 4 days before it closed, saw the last performance by Broadway veteran and concert pianist Philip Fortenberry. It was a bittersweet moment and one that will stay with me always. Speaking with the various employees and director of the museum, there was an expected sense of loss and sadness, like Liberace had died again...Perhaps his spirit will reappear in one of the fitting hotels, in a city he helped create!!! Thanks Lee It was amazing to bask in your glory!

  • Great respect for playing this piece at the correct tempo.

  • I've never had the pleasure of visiting the Liberace Museum in Vegas, but did you hear the latest? They're CLOSING the Museum (on 10-17-10)

  • Just returned from Vegas , and while we were there, we checked out the Liberace Museum. Wow ! We saw his collection of cars, pianos, jewellery, and his colourful costumes. What a wonderful experience!

    A great artist !

  • One of, if not THE GREATEST performers / showman of modern times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who puts the man down for his lifestyle is a narrow minded dweeb!!!!!!!

His scholarship programs still help young aspiring artists to this very day!!!!!!!

  • Fantastich-ein Genie

  • My aunt Wilma worked for Libe... she pressed his cuffs... always said he should have married Liz Taylor. A Genius!

  • I missed a chance to see him in 1986 in St. Louis. He was and is a great person. Only narrow people remember him for reasons other than his music.

  • Please someone upload his last interview on the Oprah Show in 1986

As we know he passed away 4th Feb 1987.

    RIP Mr Showmanship.

    xx

  • @sydneygayboi

have you seen it yet. i would like to see Lib's last interview also.

  • Dieses Video hab ich kürzlich an meinen "alten" Lehrer geschickt der mich in den 80igern unterrichtet hat-er kann das auch-einfach faszinierend.....

Danke Liberace und danke Albert (wir duzen uns heute)

  • Poor guy was already sick here, but still his amazing talent showed

  • Such a talented guy!

  • I wonder if he was gay.

  • Gay or not gay .. i don't know it.. i see your HANDS on the piano.... genius.

  • SOOOOOO talented and sorry that his legacy is being gay and AIDS, not his great piano playing. Fabulous entertainer . I wish that Lee was remembered for his truly unique talent and incredible piano playing. GREAT ENTERTAINER

  • He was the best!

  • If I remember correctly, this is from an appearance on the Johnny Carson Show... and it is so Liberace and so much class.... like Carson himself. Class act performances are a thing of the past... so sad.

  • A talent way ahead of his time he is really missed, one of the best in the world at what he did RIP LIB.

  • the song sounds somewhat angry

  • Sounds like rach 3 + moonlight sonata

  • Rachmaninov prelude in C Sharp Minor starts at 00:49.

  • @videoreff o.o ok then

  • I sure miss Liberace, his performances were always heart warming , dynamic, and fun. Vegas just isn`t the same w/o him.

  • He was the greatest **********

  • isint the chords and after the chord part composed by rachmaninof

  • ooooh I love this moonlight sonata....Fantastic....thank you very much

I love you too Liberrachiii besides Elvis Presley

  • Re: legends sometimes play a piece in Pain....or other circumstances we dont know as audience/ vidoe watcher. We dont know the Editor or Prod; i

  • he looks like he's in pain maybe it was his age or the illness, but the playing is still beautiful

  • @keithnc67 I think he was the kind of person that put his fans in front of himself-so even if he was suffering he didn't want them to know

  • This is beautiful. I honestly think he was like a gift from heaven-i have never been so touched by someone's music as I have with Liberace, and I have only recently become a fan and what a gem he is

  • @balto4 - Well said balto4. I knew him personally for many years and he has impacted my life in a way I can't explain. He was definitely 'a gift from heaven' as you said. No one has been able to reach an audience with his music & showmanship the way he did. I witnessed many of his 'live' shows, up close, and he was an absolute 'gem'. I still miss him so much.

  • @keyboardmagic Thats amazing you knew this man personally, and he is greatly missed my mother and grandmother are/were big fans, and are glad I now am as well. He was able to touch the crowd in ways that no one could

  • whats the name of this song

  • @Vendetta5246

    Moonlight Sonate by Beethoven

  • Lee said that the rings helped to slow his fingers down since he used to train with weights on his fingers.

  • tremendous piano player. incredible range - love the boogie woogie segment!!! hahaha - and how 'bout those rings- No, it never prevented Lee from soundly ticklin the ivorys!

  • 16 to the bar....(16 notes to the bar)

  • His auto ~biography is just as brillaint as his piano playing.

No one can touch this mazing man.

Loving & caring and a real gentleman as well as showman.

The world lacks this type of person and entertainer.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • i watch his videos everyday, they just seam to take away tension!

  • dido!!! he's like an angel.

  • As you can see he was much thinner. As he knew he had HIV/AIDS and was going to die.( Remember there was no treatment until 1987 which was AZT) Sadly we lost Liberace on the 4th Feb 1987.

His last preformance was on Oprah was this it ????? please get back to me

  • this isnt it, this is johnny carson!

  • This was from the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1983, I believe. His last TV appearance on the Oprah show was in Dec. 1986.

  • My late father spent his musical life idolizing and copying Liberace's showmanship and style as a pianist. Lee is a never to be repeated gift that is ever so missed.

  • What is being played at 0.50?

  • Rachmaninov's Prelude in C sharp minor.

  • a maestro from the great state of Wisconsin!!!!

  • Marty Robbins sang it but he didn't original the song.

  • One bad cat!

  • Johnny Carson show obviously

  • A great loss. The showman and talent will never be matched! LOL Lee X

  • gotta love the wig !! he was as bald as a badger in real life . never took his wig off even at home.

  • Reply to sydneygayboi....Could you possibly tell me where I can get me a wig like Lee's??? My hair is dissapearing like snow in summer and my head is feeling the cold.

  • He's already beginning to look a little thin and sick in this video. He died less than two years later.

  • I used to work for this beloved man. Seeing and hearing this brings tears to my eyes.

"you made me love YOU Lee"- you were and always will be the best.

God Bless You...and I miss you so much!

  • Supre2000, do you know where the video of "Never Say Goodbye say Ciao" disappeared. You may know on what album it can be found.

  • @Supre2000 I can imagine; he was 'larger than life' .

  • I used to work for this beloved man. Seeing and hearing this brings tears to my eyes.

"you made me love YOU Lee"- you were and always will be the best.

God Bless You...and I miss you so much!

  • what a wonderful comment. He must have been a joy to be around, he always seems so positive and grounded. What an amazing person, and a god given talents he had and chose to share with millions

  • THis is Moonlight Sonata

  • duh

  • What was the last song called?

    ANyone?.....

  • It was "You made me love you (I didn't want to do it)" by Marty Robbins.

  • Liberace was sooo good!!! he was soo talented

wish he was still with us but he will never be

forgotten I remember watching his tv shows when I was a kid I enjoyed them very much & thanks to YOUTUBE and you lovely people that post these videos of him we all can still enjoy his talent thanks showmanlee for posting

  • its tought to play with rings... they weigh u down... and he plays like they are nothing amazing.

  • He said it best when asked, "How do you Play with all those rings on??" (L) "Very well thank you!".

  • love love lee, but i got question for someone, is this a little faster tempo than the original one composed by bheetoven.

  • A great masterpiece!!! Lee is soo blessed with his golden hands...

  • you said it those "golden hands"

  • I remember watching a TV interview not that long before his death when he said that if you have health and happiness you are a rich man. Many of us would do well to heed his words eh?

  • Yes - I remember this interview -- it was on the Oprah Winfrey show and this was an answer in response to him being asked to address the reasoning of all his wealth and attitude towards it. Thanks for remembering that.

  • I love Liberace's music and his playing! Thanks for posting ALL these classic videos. In this video, Lee looks a little thinner and more gaunt than normal. I wonder if he was starting to become ill at this point? It sure looks like it.

  • whats the name of the piece he is playing???

  • Moonlight Sonata, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C#Minor, Malaguena, Warsaw Concerto, Rachmaninoff's Paganini Variations.

  • I remember watching this on TV in 1985, GREAT to see it again, I'd like to see the interview parts of his appearances on the Tonight Show as well - anyone have them? It's amazing to have friends that would give Lee such extravegant gifts as some of his fabulous jewelry that would surely be worth in the Millions today. I have the utmost respect for someone to work so hard for so long and amass a fortune in excess of $100M by the time of his death.

  • wow, lee sur new how to spend his money. he must have about 300k just on his hands.
