  • wooow, great. I had an opportunity to listen to micheal live in Slovenia(Cankarjev dom), and I had to say it was absolutly awesome! musicality, feelings,.... hope to listen him soon :)

  • serpent is cool !

  • The wondrous combination of textures and the interplay of complimenting harmonies are enchanting. Well done!

  • The grooviest serpent playing I've heard!

  • I love the kanjira-like technique! Beautiful sound! Well-done :)

  • stunning

  • I have got this information:

    title: "Los bilbilicos", traditional.

  • Michel said at the last concert I heared him that this song has got two names.

    So - Both are correct!

  • What's this song called, where's it from?

  • La rosa enflorese. It's a sephardic song.

  • @anjukka with a jewish origion ;-) .

  • @moshad2002 : well, that's what 'sephardic' implies, doesn't it? Btw. is there a traditional text version other than Ladino?

  • @anjukka LOL Yes you are right :-) . In Hebrew Spharadic means Spain , so I neglected to realize the use of the word spharadic :-).

and yes there is a Hebrew text called Tzur Mishelo Achalnu. It's a blessing for the food mostly sang as Shabat.

you can find the text here : hebrewsongs . com / ? SongID=3356

  • @moshad2002 That's interesting! Do you happen to know which version was first? 'La rosa enflorese / Los bilbilicos' is supposedly from the 15th c.

  • hmm. well the Hebrew text is from France in about the second half of the 14th c , I took that from the site piyut.org.il this site is an online arcive for anciant Hebrew / Jewish songs (also called a Piyut).

I'm not sure about the Melody though , how can we know when was the Melody atacheed to the lyrics ?.

Anyhow the site says that in the late 80 the notes to the melody has been found in a document from the early 16th and it seems that it's Document an Origian jewish Melody

  • Very nice :)

Jarrod, great to see you once again playing framedrums with your own approach - I don't see anyone else playing exactly like you.

    Bravo guys :)
