  • Great demo mate and excellent commentary. Some of the videos I've watched where people take their time picking locks leave me bored because they don't say anything. But yours kept me interested all the way through. 5*

  • great demo mate

  • Nice, but if you had left the low lever down and picked it last you would never had gone in to anti pick as the anti pick on the low lever is on the bottom of the lever so leving the low lever till last would open this lock every time and never enter anti pick. high levers have anti pick on the top of the lever so leave the low ones till last and the high levers cant go in to anti pick :)

  • It's videos like this that really reinforce why Youtube is the best website on the net! Brilliant video!

  • Very nice work,I'm a locksmith 25 years,my comment is when its 2.00 am customers forced the wrong key in the lock then tried to kick the door its raining, dark, the doors warped and you've just got out of your bed, What do you do?

  • Appreciated, and know where your coming from! If they have buggered the lock then another entry point to get them in, then sort the lock from the inside, or drill.

  • Thanks for the possitive comment. How do you mean 'Key Depth'?

  • excellent skill =)

    great commentary.

    very well presented.

    thank you.

  • where do u buy the tools?

  • From The Locksmith Training Company.

  • do you know any methods to aid picking a 3g110?

  • wow im just a kid and i though i could open alot of mortice locks but i never have picked a lock wif anti pick stump things.

1 question say u come acrose a lock whats the chances of it being curtain like wt do u mostly coem across

  • Your right, the lock is the older 2004 BS. standard

  • That's a British Standard lock, isn't it?

  • never mind.

  • Chubb doesn't sell locks anymore in England, Scotland or Wales even though they are based in Portsmouth...any idea why?

  • take it this is the hardest lock to pick ?

  • have to admire your patience, i have had some 114s opened in minutes and others resorted to drilling due to customers with the old classic " it dont james bond this long " lol

    Good video.

  • chubb is come serious shit. well done. your very calm. ida taken a blow torch to it.

  • good vid, thanks for putting it up there, inspiring

  • Good job, not so easy when your outside at 2 in the morning and it's pissin down with rain!! that's where the Hilti pick comes in!!

How much tension do you have on the bolt?

  • Tell me about it!! Though I have to say I do a couple of these a week in all weathers, sometimes picking, and sometimes impressioning. Just depends on the job.

The amount of tension depends on the lock, some require a lighter touch and some a little more. You know when you have it right as you can 'feel' the locked being 'worked'. That is you feel the levers locating.

  • Or if the customer is constantly in your face asking if " Is it open yet, is it open yet?"

  • Indeed, Although the notches are called "False Gates" :P)

  • 'False gates', 'Anti pick notches'....all means the same thing at the end of the day!

  • great vid mate, tough lock :D

  • Cheers.
