Bit of a shock seeing the great man having been through a very difficult time, but thank God he seems to have come out of it. Have to agree with the others - seeing Phil play bass with Toyah in the early 80's was just fantastic. Best gig ever was the Rainbow in Feb 81 (the one that WAS filmed - you can see me in it!). I followed Toyah around the country at the end of 83 - and even bought Phil a drink in the Marquee at the end of it all!
Ok!... I`m living in Romania... a EU state.... so ... my father has hepatitis c... he payed... health care inssurance..ok ...my father now needs to pay interferon 200 Euros...this meens 300 dollars i guess.. or better than this....my father and my mom got a 400 euro total in one month... so how can they pay this money for my father to be ok? ... to be cured? i`m just asking...! my familiy got to pay banks like 100 -180 euro /month to banks.... can anyone help us? ... thanx
Look for Mike Oldfield - Crises Live - on youtube to see some of this man's genius, Of course he was also a big part of Toyah's band in 81/82 - best concert I ever saw live July 18th 1982.
Thanks Phil for being such a fantastic musician, and I'm pleased to see you are recovering. Hope things are still going well.
July 18th 82 - that would be Sheffield City Hall right - with Positive Noise as support? Agree it was a fantastic gig, as was the following night. Phil is an amazing bass player and has great stage presence. I wish some of that live stuff was filmed - the Toyah band really cooked in 1982 and the new songs were fantastic.

Phil is on the same list alonside the greatest like Tony Levin, Guy Pratt, Mick Karn, Mark King and more...
What I love about him is that he has STYLE and he's unique, and on the same time he can realy kick ass.
