@chumliejones This may be a bit late, but if you have a good airtight seal, cover the bowl with your thumb so the the air cant escape and it hopefully won't fill with water. I dunno how that would work upside down though.

the vortex is practically the same as that just minus the tornado bit and that the vortex is built by pros or machine...very good work in that bong but id say very time consuming to make and not the easyiest to get right but never the less really good job...and spootboy123 he said he coverd the hole when he turned it upside-down so id say its like wen u put a glass upside-down in water and the water doesnt go into the glass cas the air keeps it out..im probly wrong but no harm in a guess

the down tube is the barrel from a paintball gun , you could probably substitute with pvc pipe from your local home depot or hardware store

they are actually 2L drinking water bottles that i got from a supermarket in Malaysia, paid about 5USD each, they are common here. Neway, try Walmart, they are made in China n are really cheap, the quality is decent 2. Good luck!
