It is still pretty hard on the 64 with its original controller. The trick is watching the angle of your board when landing on odd surfaces and staying on flat ground as much as possible. Trying to hit shortcuts will screw you up badly if you don't do them perfectly. :\

It was a great game though. My favorite track was the end credits music on the highest difficulty.

I know it's impossible, but it would be funny to see a character like Kensuke Kimachi in a Smash Bros.

It's not just the game controller, this game is just hard as hell to play.  Big jumps are especially bad. The halfpipe event is okay for tricks but and vertical drop is just near impossible to land correctly.

They really should have made a new version of it instead of keeping it so similar to the original.

I've heard the classic controller is easier for these type of games than the gamecube controller.

Golden Forest would make a great stage for Super Smash Brothers doing it in a similar way to Port town Aero Dive. Think something like a broken chair lift platform sliding down the mountainside.

Are you pressing "L," before you land your jumps? Because when you do that, it's MUCH easier to land since it makes your character crouch.

I used to own 1080° on the N64 and I played it on the Virtual Console, and in my opinion, it's harder to do the spin tricks with a Classic pad compared to an N64 pad.
