Wait, does it not allow manual aperture control without bending stuff all up? WTF? Please explain, I don't know why it would allow you to do this after making you spend so much money on it!
Actually, I don't use video on it...I'm getting the other camera because it has much better frames per second for still photography, not because of the video features...I actually with they had models without video, maybe the prices would be lower.
I think it's a good idea to use video, but I found myself using it exclusively for still photography...I want the other two cameras because of faster shutter speed...The T1i (500D) has only about 3.4 fps while the 50D is around 6 and the 7D has 8fps...I photograph animals mostly, so I need to be able to capture that extra freeze motion that my rebel isn't capable of...It's a wonderful camera, though, and I will keep it as my second unit.
=D buddy, haven't you noticed m/a switch on the lens? On most manual jump aperture lenses you may choose whether it jumps or just changes according to the ring immediately. actually on eos/m42 adaptors with focus confirmation you only have manual as the pin is pressed against the plate
I bought a T1i for the video but I haven't used video once since I bought it (a month ago)...I should have bought the 50D or the 7D (which I'm aiming for now).
@achilles1963, im kinda in the same boat as you. but i use this for video all the time. if your in a really really bright atmosphere the video looks incredible. but as soon as i hit dodgy light, it is just really bad. but there should be no need to go the whole way up to the 50d, i see no reason why a 7d wouldnt suffice for any user.
where can i get, and what size screw mount would i be able to use for a vivitar 72mm 28-200 mm macro focusing lens that I have? i just got a t1i and i would love to be able to use my old 35mm lens , i also have a kiron 28-105 mm lens. Thank you for your post!!
I have another question regarding T1i footage edited in Premiere Pro. What output settings did you use for this video? I cannot find a setting that gives me good enough quality at a reasonable filesize for Youtube uploads/general use.
Do you have a problem with Premiere Pro crashing when edit the footage from T1i? I use Premiere Pro CS3 with 720p footage. I want to do 3-4 min. video. I work fine sometime but when I perform something kinna heavy. It crash! Do you signal any of these problem?
if you find an "auto" lens, you don't have to worry about bending the pin. I superglued one. But again, auto lenses have a switch that takes care of this problem. Be sure to buy m42 mount lenses. Those have the cheapest adapters to fit eos bodies.
What camera did you use to film this?
ametasutaiyo 8 months ago
that was actually really helpful. mind telling me your settings for editing on premiere pro?
