I think this song gets a lot of undue criticism. Sure, the lyrics are a bit, umm, direct and even silly at one or two points BUT that's not the point. I feel this is one of the most sensual songs of Nightwish, and Tarja plays her part perfectly. I think she's enjoying the performance to be honest, she can really transfer the feeling behind the theme.

Besides there are a lot of great lyrical moments too, like the "touch my milklike skin! ... feel the ocean" So sexy and mysterious :P !

I look forward to the new album coming out because the band will make the songs as Annette's. It will once again be balanced like the old setup was.

Oh Goddess.. It's a song; It's the band; I'd enjoy it a lot more if I didn't know for sure that there's a whole conversation about Anette and Tarja bellow. And I actually agree: A change of a person in a band shouldn't break a band nor take the fans away from it: But that also makes me wonder: were they fans of the band, or of that person? Real NW-fans would be there for both; Tarja and Nightwish, even tho they're separate. Besides; You shouldn't compare Tarja and Anette; They've got different

Anette is not supposed to sing the same kind of stuff as Tarja and Tarja would sound horrifying if she tried to sing in Anette's scale. They're both wonderful, in their own remarkable ways. And I must say; Anette must be real brave, for she must have known that her joining the band as a totally different singer would make people put up hate comments etc...

5 months late, but I disagree ^v^. 1 person can totally break a band, especially the singer. you can't just go to the store and get another voice like you can with other instruments. other voices like Tarja are few and far between. Think what would happen if Cascada lost Natalie Horler or Queen lost Freddie Mercury, the bands would be completely different.

@raigekimaru Yeah different, but it wont break the band. Look at Iron Maiden, Ac/Dc, Van Halen, Judas Priest, and even IMO Nightwish. They were all just as great as they were before. Tarja was a great vocalist, but sadly her single work hasn't impressed while I've been really impressed by Dark Passion Play as a whole. Also she only contributed to the band as a vocalist while Tuamas(Sp) wrote the lyrics and Marco I believe produced the songs or atleast some of them as well as a back up singer.

yes, nightwish's music that is now COMPLETELY different without Tarja. you can't write the same type of music for a pop singer that you can from one with a classically trained, heroic voice. if you think nightwish is just as good now, that's your opinion, but I for one think that Anette is not capable of the epic, dramatic, and emotionally expressive vocals that Tarja gave the band.

But if you listen to a band for the vocalist then you are not a fan of the band, your a fan of the singer. And truth be told I can respect your opinion, but I think Nightwish is just as great as they always were, and think if someone like Tuamas was replaced then it would have a bigger blow of the band overall than what Nightwish did. Compare Tarjas single work with the new Nightwish

I suppose as a classical singer I am a bit biased. when I listen to a band, I hear a singer and accompaniment. not that the other band members are less "important" but I see them as harmony that makes the singer look better and that the band's image is projected through the singer. to change the singer is to completely change the band's appearence. if you look at history, all of the pop icons have been divas (even now, it's all about justin bieber, beyonce or lady gaga).

don't get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for other musicians precisely because they have so many other things to do than me (changing keys, finger positions). don't get me wrong, we work our asses off hours a day, but it doesn't feel like work to me. singing at it's most basic level is very natural. a healthy human being is designed to have a beautiful voice. it's really just further developing what is natural and if it's not easy by the time you perform it, you're doing it wrong.
