Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together.
I may have been wrong about it saying i'm morally obligated to kill you, however. Oops.
Yeah, but who cares, really? I had never even heard of SPLC until recently. All it's doing is giving them more fodder so they can play the victim and whine about being called bigots and their religious liberties.
@bearchewtoy75 The Southern Poverty Law Center is very well known for keeping track of all hate groups. They can cry about it and play the victim all they want, but a lot of people know that the SPLC is the organization that fights hate groups and protects people from them, so this does hurt NOM. @bearchewtoy75 It takes away their credibility, when people know that NOM is a hate group they will be less likely to listen to their bullshit and homophobic lies.
@Poochalot Eh.. it goes both ways. I do agree that it might feed into their persecution fantasies. Oh I know it's ridiculous, but these kind of people honestly feel that they're being persecuted by homosexuals.
It still pleases me to see them called out on this nonsense though.
@NomadSoul76 NOM and every other hate group see themselves as the victims, they're only trying to protect marriage from all the gay people, but what exactly are they protecting it from? Yea 2 people who love each other, that's a real threat to marriage. I'm a woman married to a man and I can tell you that gay marriage has done NOTHING to my marriage. For these idiots to even say they're somehow protecting my marriage by denying equal rights to others is an insult to what marriage means.
@Poochalot and I don't disagree with you. This whole "marriage under attack" message is bizarre.
Basically none of the arguments work. It's not about defending marriage. It's not about traditional marriage. It's not about marriage being about making babies. None of these excuses stand up to examination. It's about the us versus them culture wars, it's about gathering the masses together and telling them that an innocent minority is an imminent threat to get them to pony up the support.
@Poochalot I know that's a load of crap because I'm willing to bet that I could ask everyone I know and they'll say that they have never heard of the SPLC.
I agree with bearchewtoy75. It's just providing another excuse for people to whine and complain about something.
@Poochalot I know that's a load of crap because I'm willing to bet that I could ask everyone I know and they'll say that they have never heard of the SPLC.
I agree with bearchewtoy75. It's just providing another excuse for people to whine and complain about something.
@bearchewtoy75 Well more people are aware of the Southern Poverty Law Center, and having them officially recognized as a hate group by a professional organization can help take away the credibility of NOM. Word gets around, they can pitch a fit all they want but more and more people are seeing NOM for what they are; and more gays are coming out, which shows everyone that they have nothing to be afraid of just because the guy who lives down the street is gay. Gay rights are an uphill battle.
Coming together in love!?!? OMG, I thought that this movement was motivated by bigotry and hatred but not I see it's motivated by love. Well fuck me, I'm convinced!
Marriage is bullshit, but if I for some reason decide to marry a womyn, I don't want some religious dong telling me that my lesbo power is causing the world to disintegrate.
7) Just because they advocate gay marriage does not mean they have to totally agree with being gay. I mean we no longer have laws banning inter-racial couples do we?
8) How does this change the way you live?
9) How do you loose your choice?
and finally
10) you say you have hope then say its a Rainbow coalition, is this the same national rainbow colalition that supports gay rights?
@WatashiNoShitsuren I totally know what you mean. I only found it because I search NOM (Om nom nom!) after seeing a response vid, but the acting is awful and the things they say are just funny.
I think that one woman talking about "her faith and her job" was subtley talking about serving a gay patient. Wait, so she's a doctor...that's just cruel and sick. About the whole mix ups...really they are all just hired actors.
You would be right. It's referring to a case in CA where a doctor refused to artificially inseminate a lesbian patient. It happened well before CA allowed same-sex marriage. Why it's in that commercial, I don't know.
I can't believe I got that. That's just...bad. I mean...I've heard of photographers, businessmen, etc. not wanting to to jobs for gays but refusing medical service is just shitty. Wow, as shitty as this commercial is they sure know their homophobic research.
@bearchewtoy75 I lived in CA when Prop 8 was an issue over half their campaign was bullshit. Then again nearly all the arguments against gay marriage are bullshit.

I will support your right to have your love recognized respectfully as your partner, but my support is conditional: you have to give up this belief that your male lover is or can be your child's "mother", or your female lover a "father"
A man can't be a mom - only be a dad or stepfather. A woman can't be a father.
You have rights but so does your kid.
Marriage is about parenting and good parents do not justify putting their own desires over what is good for their kid
He's annoying but he never said he read th bible (like so many other "christians"). Huddle up. Let us end all stereotypes...especially religious ones. They just make you look smug.
Anyone find it funny that the African American at the end is talking about restricting rights when his ethnicity was being segregated just a couple of decades ago?
I think the reference to the rainbow is pretty funny too :P.
And how they're coming together in love... Seriously, this whole thing is actually an ad FOR gay marriage, if anything. I can't believe that any sane person thought this was going to work otherwise...
How do you mean irrelevant details? I think passing off lies and half-truths in an overly dramatic way to scare people into thinking like you is extremely relevant!
Actually, the USA is more religious now than it was historically. So actually under "GOD" things appear to be failing according to you.
However, things are actually better than ever. There is less violence, lower infant mortality, longer lifespan, better standard of living. But of course that appears to be correlated with technological advancement and not theistic regression.
@FatherTime89 That doesn't disagree with anything I said. It is indeed increasing but we're past the peak of religiosity in this country. However, it is still greater than it historically was. Especially when you're talking about the founding roots of the United States.
did you notice that most people who worship god also do not uphold the bible? tell me one person you know who listens and follows every word of the bible to a t. old or new testiment.
and so is your thought process. bush used god to obtain votes from nutty right wing to become pres. what do people have to say of their savior bush now? he isnt even that religious. bush said god told him to run for presidency/go to war. what is wrong with america? we have bible thumpin' right winged extremists falling for crap and vote the most evil man in office. issues like gay, war etc. nothing to do with god.thats my point. religion used to control masses/minds, nothing more than a cult.
In my private opinion everything would be failing without God, so it is reason why to abandon THIS HATERED against people who are different. HATERED has absolutely nothing to do with God. It is just bad excuse, the same Hitler and other dictators used.
Where did you find the audition clips? That's pretty cool by the way.
Since this is a Christian organisation, you would just think that Christians aren't suppose to lie. I guess it's okay to lie if they believe it's for their cause.
They were posted by the HRC shortly after the ad aired. NOM flagged them for copyright reasons, but they're been cloned so much they're all over the web now.
What's really troubling to me is that they think they're not lying. Yet their president continues to go on the air and act likes she's shocked and hurt when they're accused of lying.
I almost feel sorry for them. They've told so many lies over and over again, they believe them by now.
Great job! Though I must say the argument about the "actors" not being who they represent is not much of an argument... Rarely is ANYONE in a commercial anything but an actor. Keep up the fight and good work! Equality for all!
Thank you and I thought that at first about the actors, which is true if they were selling a product. But then I thought that it's pretty common place to use real people in political ads.
But I did want to use that reiterate that this whole ad is fake. From the graphics to the people to the freedoms that will be "taken away" are ALL FAKE! :)
Holy CRAP! the doctor story is about a woman who wanted to be able to refuse to treat a woman based on her sexual orientation.
THAT is having her religious beliefs violated? Are they now officially demanding the right to discriminate based on their bigoted and deeply flawed interpretation of their religion?
Replace homosexual with black and you've got an exact copy of a similar struggle that happened apparently long enough ago to be out of the public memory.
@ArakiUzamaki Do you really believe that? I mean, are you so flexible in your sexuality that you think you could just choose to begin having sex with people of your own gender? You weren't simply born heterosexual?
If you are then you're not heterosexual, you're bi, choosing only to have sex/date/whatever with people of the other gender. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's lead you to make some incorrect assumptions about others.
@ArakiUzamaki I'm still waiting for a response, ArakiUzamaki. Do you really believe that everyone, including yourself, is actually bisexual? Are you romantically and sexually attracted to both genders leaving you free to be able to choose who you date?
Homo/bisexuals made the choice to be so. Society makes us think that if you are homo/bisexual then you were just born that way and there's nothing you can do about it. Totally untrue.
@ArakiUzamaki You didn't actually answer the question, you ignored it and restated your assertion.
Let's try again. Were you born straight, or did you choose to be that way?
If you chose to be that way then you're bisexual. Again, there's nothing wrong with that, but you need to understand that that's not how straight and homosexual people are.. If you were born that way then what makes you think you get to claim that gay people were not equally born into their sexuality?
@NomadSoul76 No one is BORN gay. When someone is gay that means that they chose to be so. No, you do not choose to be straight. You choose to be gay or bisexual. And I know that gay people were not born into their sexuality by
a. they say "I used to be straight"
or b. "I used to be gay."
Those two statements make it obvious that they made that choice.
I could bring my faith into this but that will just cause an argument.
@ArakiUzamaki And once again you refuse to answer the question. You dare not say you were born straight, but you're basically tacitly admitting it by saying you didn't choose to be so. But then you turn around and demand that gay people are not born what they are. Why? You do not say. You simply assert it.
I think you see the hypocrisy of this argument, but you need it so you dare not question it too closely.
I have never, EVER, heard a gay person say they chose to be so.
@ArakiUzamaki I seriously doubt you have either. But you need to believe it in order to support your primitive bigotry. On some level you realize the hypocrisy of this position, but you need it so you dare not examine it too closely.
Explain to my why you think someone who understands how homosexuals suffer would choose such a life. Do you think these people wake up one day and say "persecution, discrimination, and threats of violence.. yep, that's for me!"?
@ArakiUzamaki You know what it's like to be born into a sexuality. I imagine the thought of having sex with a man fills you with revulsion. Yet you have the gall the assert that for a homosexual it's not that they're born different, they just choose to do what you couldn't imagine doing?
Wrap your mind around this concept. They can choose to be straight just as easily as you can choose to be gay.
@NomadSoul76 I've seen these childish arguments before, the whole "being gay is a choice" thing. I know I didn't choose my sexual orientation and it's really funny (and pathetic) to hear people still trying to claim that it's a choice. How can a person choose their feelings? We're all born as a certain person and our sexual orientation is part of that. With the cruelty that is forced on gays I don't see anyone choosing that as a life, why would anyone choose to be the target of a hate crime?
@Poochalot I think we both know why this argument is being made. Those using it feel some twinge of conscience, realizing that what they're doing to gays isn't very nice, so they have to make it the fault of the gay people instead. "they brought it upon themselves". I suspect this is a standard part of the scapegoating routine.
@NomadSoul76 You could be right about it being a part of the scapegoating thing, those who oppose gay rights don't want to look like the bad guy; so instead they try to shift the blame onto those they attack. It's very pathetic how they try to force their beliefs on everyone else even when they see that they're wrong. I made a choice to love instead of being alone, I wanted to be me just like anyone else. You're an intelligent person, glad to have a chance to talk to you!
@ArakiUzamaki No you're wrong about people choosing to be gay, people are born heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. None of us can choose our sexual orientation. The APA has already proven this and it's on their website. Sexual orientation is a part of the emotional center of the brain therefore it's a feeling and not a conscious decision. I didn't choose my sexual orientation, I just feel what I feel because that's who I am, just like anyone else. None of us can choose our feelings.
@Poochalot And then there's an alternate way to take this "it's a choice" thing. You could look at it as saying that gay people choose to be with those they love instead of choosing to live alone for their entire lives. Or of course enter into a sham hetero relationship and live a lie.
@Poochalot Yes, you're right about one thing. Our sexuality is determined since birth. and that sexuality is heterosexual. Those who are homosexual or bisexual choose to be so. You can pull whatever Science card that you want, where the fact of the matter is: Science is controlled by man, therefore it is flawed. period. end of story. there is only one thing that is absolutely right all the time, and that's the Bible. And there's no way you can prove that it isn't.
@bearchewtoy75 ok, first of all, we're talking about supernatural things rather than humanly things. Second, we're also talking about a world that was much smaller at the time. Not literally, because I know you're going to say that. It's not talking about the entire world.
And there is nothing that has conclusively proven the causes for sexual orientation, so you can't say that everyone is born heterosexual, because there's nothing that proves that.
And even if it were a choice, why am I know allowed to have that choice?
Religion is a choice, but we don't ask that people change it so they don't face discrimination, do we?
@bearchewtoy75 I'm not telling anyone to change their sexual orientation. I'm simply saying that it's a choice that is made and if you are homosexual or bisexual then you go to Hell. It's as simple as that. Period. End of Story.
@bearchewtoy75 I'm not telling anyone to change their sexual orientation. I'm simply saying that it's a choice that is made and if you are homosexual or bisexual then you go to Hell. It's as simple as that. Period. End of Story. And I'm going to get a lot of crap for that, but I speaking the truth and people don't like that.
Every scientist knows that there can be flaws, that's why they don't stop asking questions when they find one answer. Science is about testing and retesting and more retesting.
Why do you discount science when it gives you an answer you don't like?
There is science behind the car you drive, the computer you use, and the moon landing.
But, you don't question that kind of science, do you? Only when it shakes your ideological view is when you have problem with it.
@bearchewtoy75 and you are perfectly fine with the Christian faith unless it shakes YOUR ideological view.
There is the truth and there are lies and mistakes. And I'm going to sound close-minded when I say this, but it's true. Science is wrong if it says something is false that the Bible says is true, and vice versa.
Go to Bible Gatway and take a look at identical verses from different Bibles, they will often say very different things.
If you insist that the Bible is the infallible word of God Almighty, that's your faith and I really can't do anything to shake it.
But you also can't say that the Bible is 100% correct 100% of the time when it has been translated and updated by many human beings throughout the centuries.
@bearchewtoy75 The Bible is 100% right 100% of the time. Saying that it's not is like saying that a phrase in Spanish is wrong because it doesn't have a direct translation to English. There are some words in the language that the Bible was originally written in that don't have a direct translation to English. That doesn't make it wrong.
@ArakiUzamaki No one can choose they're sexual orientation, you're full of shit to say that anyone can. Science isn't controlled by man, I don't know where you got something so stupid. Prove to me that the Bible is right all the time. I'm a woman and I can tell you that in order for a baby to be born she needs to have sex, that's basic biology. There is no mythological deity floating around in the sky, if you don't understand what I mean- there is no god, it's a book of fairy tales.
@Poochalot You obviously are another one of those people that look at everything from your own view of the world and then turn around and say that you're open-minded. Try actually reading the Bible instead of going on things that other people have heard about.
I have been gay before. I chose to be so. then I saw that what I was doing was sinful and wrong. I repented and I'm not gay anymore. So go ahead and tell me that you can't choose your sexual orientation, but then you'll be full of shit.
@ArakiUzamaki I have read plenty of the Bible, I was sent to a private Baptist school as a child, as for you choosing to be gay that's a lie, no one can choose their sexual orientation. Telling me I'm full of shit, so very Christian of you. Don't bother replying as you're not worth my time.
@Poochalot I'm just using the terminology that you used on me. And you can think it's a lie all you want, but now your just throwing a hissy fit because you don't like being wrong. I hate it when people tell Christians to be open minded and then turn around and bad mouth people that are Christian. Just- Like- You. You will never listen to any facts. You are trapped in your own little bubble, just like the rest of society, and you don't like it when people like me come along and pop that bubble.
@ArakiUzamaki lol a christian talkin about facts. Ya facts like the bible. lol CHristians, along with most other religions are a close minded intollerant oppresive religion that believes it has the right to tell other people how they should live their lives. Religion has become the number one reason/excuse for intolerance/hatred. The world would be such a better place without it. There would be less reasons to judge/criticize others. BTW truth based on faith is...well...very very veryunfounded!
@mrjlc23 Maybe you should actually read the Bible. Many facts and scientific theories are supported by the Bible. The Bible supports the theory of Pangaea and part of the theory of Evolution. It is ignorant people like you that spread false rumors about Christians and make us seem like terrible people based on a few fanatics. In an argument such as this you probably take the Bible out of context; quoting parts of it that prove your point as long as you don't read the rest of the verse.
@ArakiUzamaki "In an argument such as this you probably take the Bible out of context; quoting parts of it that prove your point as long as you don't read the rest of the verse." lol sounds like a certain group of individuals! Im pretty sure thats the same argument thrown at you guys all the time!
@mrjlc23 I will admit that some Christians take the Bible out of context just to prove their point. Then again, those people aren't exactly acting Christian, now are they? Like the saying goes "If you talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk."
I think that we could find a lot more biting humor to underscore the hypocrisy and discrimination in this commercial against same-sex marriage. It only made me smile a few times. Where is all that bitchy, campy humor that the gay community is known for? Quentin, Truman, Tennessee, we need your help!
Benitez v. The North Coast Women's Care Med Group of San Diego
Ocean Camp Meeting Association v. State of New Jersey
David Parker parent @ Joseph Estabrook Elem School in Lexington, Mass.
It is my hope that by posting this info, people can look up the cases in the FREE MEDIA and find out the TRUTH about what really happened. fight NOMs campaign of lies. END religion based bigotry now. it has no place in America in 2009.
Bearchewtoy...love the name, love the video. Thank you for this, the exposé on the identity of the actors is the best part...hadn't seen it anywhere else!
I appreciate this video. I don't understand why it matters who you marry. Love is Love. its unfortunate but this is another one of those things we're going to have to keep on fighting for.
Ah,the art of speciousness is alive and well in this sad,fear-mongering ,idiotic little commercial. The only dark clouds gathering are the ones in the actors empty heads and the evil goons that tried to peddle off this crap as the "truth".They are beneath contempt. We will win this war against the people who believe in their hearts that equality is not for everyone. Let's keep voting NeoCons out of office!
" ... a rainbow coalition"? You must be fucking joking, you moron!!! How does a gay person takes you freedom? Is it because you are a hater and a moron and a narrow individual!?
Very well done best response that ive seen to the hate and lies flooding the internet and the airwars. Love is love. My family is just as important as theirs.
The fact that they actually say what they know 2 B lies & send it out as propaganda 2 scare the str8, uneducated (on this issue) peep into believing their garbage is the true storm. A storm of lies, hate, deceit, bigotry, etc... The word homosexual isn't in the Greek language & therefore, couldn't have been in the original writing of the Bible. The story of S&G being destroyed cuz of Homosexual acts, lies! In the earliest Bibles still in existence it clearly states that they worshipped Idols.
Not to mention that the inhabitants of S&G were in gross violation of ancient HOSPITALITY laws that were considered sacred in those days. The Angels were given refuge, but they were still sought after their flesh. You're right, the stories weren't about gay love, but about violating cultural and moral taboos.

But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, .. for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. ( 1 Timothy 1:8-11)
Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile;.... Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. And Jesus Christ answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'. "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. (New Testament Matthew 19:4-6)
Just cause Jesus talked favorably about Subject "A" doesn't mean that he is condemning Subject "B".
This is a common falsehood, that if someone talks favorably about one subject, then they absolutely disagree with a similar or opposite subject.
If we followed your logic, Jesus is also condemning single people, couples that don't move out of their parents house, and couples that don't have sex or don't produce offspring.
Excellent response! THEY are the ones taking away rights not the other way around! How on earth can they believe that supporting equal rights for all could be a bad thing or would cost them their rights? Did the equal rights for women movement take away the rights of men? Did equal rights for african americans take away the rights of whites? NO!
The untalented christian right should know better than to screw with uber talented gay community and their supporters. Anything they will put out will be diced and sliced until it is rendered pointless. Let the mocking begin in earnest.
Gay marriage is simply a distraction issue.. much like abortion. It doesn't have an effect on 99 percent of the population, yet everyone has a strong opinion on it. Their are much more important issues we could collectively pursue, but instead we waste our energy on bullshit such as this. We need to get our priorities straight.
amazing how much time straights spend on their fascination with gays. ..Jealousy?...makes you think they have nothing better to do. Why don't you straights try to fix your marriage model (50%+ in divorce?) instead of fixating on ours?

The original video never claimed that they are doctors, Massachussets parents etc. The clip clearly says "the stories these ACTORS are telling are based on real incidents"..
Well... we can debate about the CLEARLY part, but of the three incidents they are describing, two of could easily happen with the issue of some same sex marriage and all three are misleading and NOT telling the whole story. Please see another video for clarification. /watch?v=CeEluIbW9T4
By using actors instead of the real people involved they are over dramatizing the issue, helping to mislead the public, along with the dark production values.
Nicely done! It's great seeing levity instead of anger being thrown at this silly ad. Kudos to you for taking the high road and making a lot of us smile.

Marriage is about parenting and good parents do not justify putting their own desires over what is good for their kid

dannyncneely 2 years ago
Actually, the USA is more religious now than it was historically. So actually under "GOD" things appear to be failing according to you.
However, things are actually better than ever. There is less violence, lower infant mortality, longer lifespan, better standard of living. But of course that appears to be correlated with technological advancement and not theistic regression.

@FatherTime89 That doesn't disagree with anything I said. It is indeed increasing but we're past the peak of religiosity in this country. However, it is still greater than it historically was. Especially when you're talking about the founding roots of the United States.

Replace homosexual with black and you've got an exact copy of a similar struggle that happened apparently long enough ago to be out of the public memory.
NomadSoul76 2 years ago 12
@NomadSoul76 Only one problem with exchanging homosexuality with black is that people can't CHOOSE their skin color
You're not born homosexual
It's a choice that you make at some point in your life.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki Do you really believe that? I mean, are you so flexible in your sexuality that you think you could just choose to begin having sex with people of your own gender? You weren't simply born heterosexual?
If you are then you're not heterosexual, you're bi, choosing only to have sex/date/whatever with people of the other gender. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's lead you to make some incorrect assumptions about others.
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki I'm still waiting for a response, ArakiUzamaki. Do you really believe that everyone, including yourself, is actually bisexual? Are you romantically and sexually attracted to both genders leaving you free to be able to choose who you date?
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@NomadSoul76 I'm not saying that I'm bisexual
I suppose I should have phrased it better
Homo/bisexuals made the choice to be so. Society makes us think that if you are homo/bisexual then you were just born that way and there's nothing you can do about it. Totally untrue.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki You didn't actually answer the question, you ignored it and restated your assertion.
Let's try again. Were you born straight, or did you choose to be that way?
If you chose to be that way then you're bisexual. Again, there's nothing wrong with that, but you need to understand that that's not how straight and homosexual people are.. If you were born that way then what makes you think you get to claim that gay people were not equally born into their sexuality?
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@NomadSoul76 No one is BORN gay. When someone is gay that means that they chose to be so. No, you do not choose to be straight. You choose to be gay or bisexual. And I know that gay people were not born into their sexuality by
a. they say "I used to be straight"
or b. "I used to be gay."
Those two statements make it obvious that they made that choice.
I could bring my faith into this but that will just cause an argument.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki And once again you refuse to answer the question. You dare not say you were born straight, but you're basically tacitly admitting it by saying you didn't choose to be so. But then you turn around and demand that gay people are not born what they are. Why? You do not say. You simply assert it.
I think you see the hypocrisy of this argument, but you need it so you dare not question it too closely.
I have never, EVER, heard a gay person say they chose to be so.
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki I seriously doubt you have either. But you need to believe it in order to support your primitive bigotry. On some level you realize the hypocrisy of this position, but you need it so you dare not examine it too closely.
Explain to my why you think someone who understands how homosexuals suffer would choose such a life. Do you think these people wake up one day and say "persecution, discrimination, and threats of violence.. yep, that's for me!"?
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki You know what it's like to be born into a sexuality. I imagine the thought of having sex with a man fills you with revulsion. Yet you have the gall the assert that for a homosexual it's not that they're born different, they just choose to do what you couldn't imagine doing?
Wrap your mind around this concept. They can choose to be straight just as easily as you can choose to be gay.
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@NomadSoul76 I've seen these childish arguments before, the whole "being gay is a choice" thing. I know I didn't choose my sexual orientation and it's really funny (and pathetic) to hear people still trying to claim that it's a choice. How can a person choose their feelings? We're all born as a certain person and our sexual orientation is part of that. With the cruelty that is forced on gays I don't see anyone choosing that as a life, why would anyone choose to be the target of a hate crime?
Poochalot 1 year ago
@Poochalot I think we both know why this argument is being made. Those using it feel some twinge of conscience, realizing that what they're doing to gays isn't very nice, so they have to make it the fault of the gay people instead. "they brought it upon themselves". I suspect this is a standard part of the scapegoating routine.
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@NomadSoul76 You could be right about it being a part of the scapegoating thing, those who oppose gay rights don't want to look like the bad guy; so instead they try to shift the blame onto those they attack. It's very pathetic how they try to force their beliefs on everyone else even when they see that they're wrong. I made a choice to love instead of being alone, I wanted to be me just like anyone else. You're an intelligent person, glad to have a chance to talk to you!
Poochalot 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki No you're wrong about people choosing to be gay, people are born heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. None of us can choose our sexual orientation. The APA has already proven this and it's on their website. Sexual orientation is a part of the emotional center of the brain therefore it's a feeling and not a conscious decision. I didn't choose my sexual orientation, I just feel what I feel because that's who I am, just like anyone else. None of us can choose our feelings.
Poochalot 1 year ago
@Poochalot And then there's an alternate way to take this "it's a choice" thing. You could look at it as saying that gay people choose to be with those they love instead of choosing to live alone for their entire lives. Or of course enter into a sham hetero relationship and live a lie.
NomadSoul76 1 year ago
@Poochalot Yes, you're right about one thing. Our sexuality is determined since birth. and that sexuality is heterosexual. Those who are homosexual or bisexual choose to be so. You can pull whatever Science card that you want, where the fact of the matter is: Science is controlled by man, therefore it is flawed. period. end of story. there is only one thing that is absolutely right all the time, and that's the Bible. And there's no way you can prove that it isn't.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki
There are numerous verses in the Bible that state that the earth doesn't move, that the earth has edges and that the sun moves around the earth.
Matthew 4:8 is my personal favorite:
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
How exactly is it possible to see ALL the kingdoms?
bearchewtoy75 1 year ago
@bearchewtoy75 ok, first of all, we're talking about supernatural things rather than humanly things. Second, we're also talking about a world that was much smaller at the time. Not literally, because I know you're going to say that. It's not talking about the entire world.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki
And there is nothing that has conclusively proven the causes for sexual orientation, so you can't say that everyone is born heterosexual, because there's nothing that proves that.
And even if it were a choice, why am I know allowed to have that choice?
Religion is a choice, but we don't ask that people change it so they don't face discrimination, do we?
bearchewtoy75 1 year ago
@bearchewtoy75
OOPS... why am I NOT allow to make that choice?
bearchewtoy75 1 year ago
@bearchewtoy75 I'm not telling anyone to change their sexual orientation. I'm simply saying that it's a choice that is made and if you are homosexual or bisexual then you go to Hell. It's as simple as that. Period. End of Story.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago

@ArakiUzamaki
Only when it shakes your ideological view is when you have problem with it.
bearchewtoy75 1 year ago
@bearchewtoy75 and you are perfectly fine with the Christian faith unless it shakes YOUR ideological view.
There is the truth and there are lies and mistakes. And I'm going to sound close-minded when I say this, but it's true. Science is wrong if it says something is false that the Bible says is true, and vice versa.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago
@ArakiUzamaki
Go to Bible Gatway and take a look at identical verses from different Bibles, they will often say very different things.
If you insist that the Bible is the infallible word of God Almighty, that's your faith and I really can't do anything to shake it.
But you also can't say that the Bible is 100% correct 100% of the time when it has been translated and updated by many human beings throughout the centuries.
bearchewtoy75 1 year ago
@bearchewtoy75 The Bible is 100% right 100% of the time. Saying that it's not is like saying that a phrase in Spanish is wrong because it doesn't have a direct translation to English. There are some words in the language that the Bible was originally written in that don't have a direct translation to English. That doesn't make it wrong.

Poochalot 1 year ago

I have been gay before. I chose to be so. then I saw that what I was doing was sinful and wrong. I repented and I'm not gay anymore. So go ahead and tell me that you can't choose your sexual orientation, but then you'll be full of shit.
ArakiUzamaki 1 year ago

@Poochalot I'm just using the terminology that you used on me. And you can think it's a lie all you want, but now your just throwing a hissy fit because you don't like being wrong. @ArakiUzamaki lol a christian talkin about facts. Ya facts like the bible. lol CHristians, along with most other religions are a close minded intollerant oppresive religion that believes it has the right to tell other people how they should live their lives. BTW truth based on faith is...well...very very veryunfounded!
mrjlc23 8 months ago
@mrjlc23 Maybe you should actually read the Bible. Many facts and scientific theories are supported by the Bible. The Bible supports the theory of Pangaea and part of the theory of Evolution. It is ignorant people like you that spread false rumors about Christians and make us seem like terrible people based on a few fanatics. In an argument such as this you probably take the Bible out of context; quoting parts of it that prove your point as long as you don't read the rest of the verse.

(New Testament Matthew 19:4-6)

and how is this relevent?

We need to get our priorities straight.
lazysac 2 years ago 4
I don't get why people are so against it, gay marriage isn't hurting you or your family.

"Dogs and cats living together mass hysteria!" greatest line in the movie. Even better than "Back off man, I'm a scientist."

Awesome, awesome vid.
One question: where are the clips from 0:27-0:33 and 1:31-1:46 from?
supersaver87 2 years ago
Wanda Sykes and the second clip is from Scrooged.

amazing how much time straights spend on their fascination with gays. ..Jealousy?...makes you think they have nothing better to do. Why don't you straights try to fix your marriage model (50%+ in divorce?) instead of fixating on ours?

The original video never claimed that they are doctors, Massachussets parents etc. The clip clearly says "the stories these ACTORS are telling are based on real incidents"..
HailTheSun 2 years ago
Your mom is based on a real incident. :-P
HouseOnSunset 2 years ago
Well... we can debate about the CLEARLY part, but of the three incidents they are describing, two of could easily happen with the issue of some same sex marriage and all three are misleading and NOT telling the whole story.

The positive message of the satire is somewhat undermined by the toolishness of Keith Olbermann's periodic appearance throughout.
Always good to see Ghostbusters serve a noble political purpose, though!
