  • i get taught to block to the centre of my body when doing soto and twist the hip off to cover

  • I HATE the chamber in a REAL fight, it forces you to do way to much movement to block. Think of it like this, if your fists are at your waist, where are they going to aim there punch, at your face! The combined time to see the punch, and to think of which block to do, and to get your arms from the chamber to the block. The opponent can decide to punch before you have taken these steps, and then throw a quick jab to your face.

    The "chamber" or pull back arm is not meant for real fighting. It is a training method used to help develop maximum power thru total body focus. Once "mastered" (a relative term to be sure), the advanced karateka is able to block and punch without the pull back with only a minor reduction in power. This frees the pull back arm for other things like grabbing, blocking, etc.

  • @linuxlyon76 if you just start now i would recomended stop it find other martial arts as muay thai or juijutsu..after so many year you will be upset spent time to bulshit
