The Dishrags were Vancouver's first punk band.They moved here from Victoria (Our sleepy Provincial Capitol city) were they had formed the band in 1977.They quit school at the ages of 16/17 and lived in Poverty to become Vancouver's earliest punk band(before even D.O.A. or The Subhumans) True punk for sure.

The drummer Scout is a friend of mine and I'm 45 and she's three years older than I am. I was just chatting with her at an afternoon party we were at. She lives on our island, super nice down to earth gal.

@bj616 Yeah I've met herI live on SSI too. This is a great band! im lsitning to as many vanocuver punk bands as I can. I love this old school stuff. It;s better than all that typical "fuck the system!" stuff. I was born waaaay to late. I wish I would have seen these girls play.

The west coast had a fresh feeling back in these days. I rode a troller down the coast from Alaska one year during the punk wave, and i'll never forget walking up the dock at Coal Harbour into a town full of the coolest kids I ever saw.

All you assholes that saw these bands at the Commodore and Japanese Hall... fuck you! I'm jealous!!

First west cost punk band in canada was a chick band. Totally awesome. Still great by todays standards. God bless "The Dishrags" and god bless the "Ramones"
