    english very well

  • Hello Jet li, I wah to learn marsh o arts(chinese accent)!

  • omg he's cute <3

  • Wow! I really like this interview! Well said Jet Li!

  • Jet li is a very strong person. I'm sure that if anyone was to meet him. They would say the same thing.:)

  • Jet li is one of the best martial artists in the world. It's too bad that fearless was his last wushu movie.:)

  • yin and yang, don't just focus on the the physical aspect but also the emotional aspect

  • lol interviewer:Welcome to ... jet li: hey

  • MASTER

  • The host was playing Wong Shun Leung in 'Bruce Lee the legend' (2008), wasn't he? His English is amazing! :D

  • Wow, what a great character.

He's already an immortal legend and also an inspiration for life.

  • LOOOL 6:33 what the hell? sounds like hes saying "non of that shitt" hahahah hes brilliant XD

  • happy birthday jet li!!!

  • the moral of the interview: humans are different to animals

  • Damn, he broke it down! :)

  • This is a great man, he says the truth, he is a true martial artist, i will give up boxing just to take kung fu, it has a huge impact on life.

  • He shows how deep culture can be. Respect.:)

  • Very informative. He speaks his experience and heart.

  • Jet Li is the best asian action actor ever! I even think he's cooler then Bruce Lee, yeah that's right... I said it... He's better then Bruce Lee......... XD I think I'm going to get a few haters for this comment! ^^

  • @JumpingGinger Brother, you're not the only one. Bruce Lee is an icon, he is known for his fighting, brutal fighting, killing for what is right. I can guarantee you that in any Bruce Lee movies, the secondary actors, the ones that getting beat up by Bruce, they are getting injured... for real! Bruce is putting this life in fighting. Jet is a whole different story. Bruce Lee, he has his fists, his feet, martial arts. Jet Li, he has his heart and his spirit.

  • 6:32 what the hell is he doing?

  • @Thesnaft lmao, stretching? :)

  • Thank you, Mr Jet Li. Great message. Fantastic interview.

  • this is why i love doing martial arts!

  • Jet Li to fajny gość i mistrz.

  • CHUCK NORRIS IS SHIT! thumbs up if you agree.

  • @dannyville211 YEAH HE IS! AT GETTING HIS NUTS STOMPED ON BY BRUCE! :]

  • Jet has always been my favorite martial artist. He's also one of my personal heroes. If I knew him personally, I would also consider him a friend.

  • Maybe a film with Jean Claude van damme or Dennis rodman. Something that hasn't already been done before. You know what I'm saying?

  • A very versatle actor with inner feelings. A very kind person with many good traits. I'm sure that jet li has had his struggles in life, but who hasn't? That's what will make him stronger in the long run. I'm sure he's on to something for his career. Honestly, I think he should do more films so that his voice can

    Be

    Heard.

  • this is why you don't drink a whole jug of coffee before interview.

  • He's a great guy, good fighter too. Poor Jet doesnt get a LOT of dialogue in his films, so when he talks he doesnt stop LOL.

  • "if you use the right way, you can help a lot of people. wrong way, you made a bigamistake!" ha ha i love how he reflects the poor actions on the person as a mistake and not a judgment. his wisdom shines through even the language barriers he faces. nice, jet, that's why you're awesome!

  • omg he's sooooooooo cool =s

  • He is awesome :D

  • i always thought jet li had a badass personality

  • i really respect him. he has such a good outlook on life/martial arts.

  • 2 people didn't like this?! Jet Li needs to kill them!

  • jet li is so cute i love his movies like war, black mask and kiss of the dragon

and words cant show what i fell about his smile

    i love you jet li

  • Thanks so much for posting this interview. Nice to hear about the man behind the fighter.

    CatChing Do Defensive Arts.

  • Liking the 3 levels idea!

  • it will always funny to see two chinese speaking english whoever they are.

  • @admondantes1 lol

  • Jet Li is awesome...I wish he could do more fight scenes and movies like Kiss Of The Dragon, Unleashed aka Danny the Dog and Lethal Weapon 4. Of course all the others were good but he does those fight scenes very well.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful interview. Jet Li is such a beautiful person, he has a wonderful spirit. His smile radiates through only love and kindness.

He shares his way of life with the world. I really have great respect for him. I have seen most of his films. Fearless and Unleashed are two of my personal favorites.

  • @Yvette15179

LOL we have common interests in our personal favorites.

  • Li Lian Jie is my most favourite martial arts actor. Yes, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan are also good but Jet is better than them for me. You're really great Jet . Greetings to you from the Czech republic!

  • I hate how people making fun of somebody's accent.....

  • Wow, you gotta appreciate how deep he is going with explaining his views on martial arts.

  • jet li is personaly a favorite martial artist and actor i always wanted to meet him and learn from him

  • Jet Li in movies is (from what I can see) complete opposite of what he is outside of acting. Very very jovial, good personality, very likable fellow.

  • Damn, his english is pretty good, Jackie Chan's english is pretty broken compared to Li's.

  • jet li has the most sexiest n pretiest smile you wont find on anybody else feature n laugh

  • I hope you are a girl....

  • @BLOFFERR im not gay its just i compliment people on thier features

  • @BLOFFERR lol u funny

  • personally, I think his message is portrayed best in the movie when he learns shows humility, when living out in the countryside. he seems pretty down to earth for a superstar.

  • That is the best part of the film.I wanted to live in that town.

  • Favorite Jet Li movie of all time: "Give Father a Letter" (my translation).

  • I might also add that Jet Li's English is very very good lol.

  • I really love the way Li expresses his opinion on martial arts movies. He says it's all about the asthetic value, and beating people up. But it seems that he wants people to see a deeper meaning - his philosophy of what martial arts really is. It's about the middle ground, respect, honor, endurance, and even to some degree love for your opponant. While martial arts is indeed a test of physical skill and expertise, it is also a test of morality and a journey towards the inner self.

  • Bruce Lee (gotta be first), Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Tony Jaa. The four of them = some of the greatest martial artists in the world I think.

  • Biggest martial art prompter. Yes. Most famous martial artists. Yes. But as for being the best, I think Jackie Chan might be lacking a bit.

  • Jet Li and Jackie Chan seem to me to be among the most inspirational and decent superstars.

  • Jet Li was my infuental idol when I was little.Jackie Chan was my second but then my friend had to be such a bitch about Bruce Lee.I like Bruce Lee but he wasn't as influental to me when I was little

  • thnx for posting this, i like hearing jet talk cos hes always something inspiring to say, great :)

  • damn i never knew jet li was this smart

  • Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Tony Jaa are all amazing Martial Arts enthusiasts with different styles... What they do is an art.

  • All hail Master Li!

  • As for wushu, it is not supposed to be all jumps and acrobatics. Unfortunately that is what it is turning in to. I study strong basics to build up strong difficulties and acrobatics. That's the way it should be. What good is a jump if you can't kick, punch, or even land it properly? And if you think wushu guys can't fight, pick a fight with one and see what happens to you.

  • A fucking men to that. I get so annoyed when I hear people talking about how their UFC mixes are so deadly and all they do when it comes to practice is watch their favorite fighter. Lol. I respect all martial arts myself but if I am not given respect I don't give it.

  • These are 2 great martial artist talking about the meaning of martial arts in this film. So ulaaka, I invite you to go to Eric's studio and call him a jackass to his face. He'll probably smile at you and let you leave. At which point you should consider yourself lucky.

  • After this interview with Eric Chen, they both spoke in whatever Chinese dialect they speak just to catch up since they know each other personally. It was for American broadcasting that's why it's in English (I'm just glad it wasn't in spanish). When Jet first came to the States to shoot Lethal Weapon 4, he lived in Eric's house for a while. Interviewers were only given a couple minutes to ask questions but Jet requested Eric stay longer.

  • ha ha this motha fucker is the shit..... jackie chan and tony jaa aint got shit on him

  • I'd say Chan does but Tony is wayyyyy to slow.

  • yeah definently, but chan is more funny when he fights though

  • hes not just a great actor

  • it's hilarious that jet li has such a thick accent yet speaks more intelligibly than most natural born english speakers.

  • haha true that, sometimes i question my intelligence when i hear him speak. Kind of makes me sound dumb.

  • Yes, he is very sensible moreover, a man of wisdom rather than just intellect

  • he is so great

  • jet li has a nice smile and an endearing laugh! hes so cute!

  • I love how the interviewer just nods along and only ever gets to say one word every now and again lol

  • Li is the best martial artist in the world. Other than Bruce Lee.

  • agreed!

  • atleast you have some sense these people think Jet is a joke lol

  • 1971: Jet begins training in wushu at an after-school program at the Beijing Sports School.

1974: Jet joins the newly created Beijing Wushu Team and begins competing on a national level.

1974: Was awarded his first Men's National All-Around Championship title at the age of 12.

    1975: Men's National All-Around Championship

    1976: Men's National All-Around Championship

    1977: Men's National All-Around Championship

    1978: Men's National All-Around Championship

    1979: Retired

  • HOLY SHIT

  • why do people say he aint a fighter....he can so fight you cant show off what he does and not know how to fight

  • they say that because he would lose against fedor or sem schilt and stuff..

ofcourse an actor cannot beat a heavyweight athlete.. but that does not mean he can not fight, and it certainly does not mean that jet li is not one of the legends of martial arts..

  • There is actually a chance of jet beating someone like Sem schilt. It's not about heavyweight or a skinny freak, it's all about how you utilize your power. Someone one 100 pounds could take down someone who is 200+. He was in a martial arts school for a long time so he could take down a heavyweight athlete. He became an actor after he trained for years in wushu. It has nothing to do with how well hes martial arts is. He is just doing a movie with all hes learned.

  • Wushu is kind of more of a sport isn't it? Not actually teaching you how to apply the martial arts but just making the acrobatics and techniques in them look better.

  • Jet Li was a Shaolin monk

  • You idiots know nothing, Jet Li is a fighting god. Not now, maybe , but when he was younger, he was crazily good.

  • my idol<3

  • maybe the interviewer doesnt know mandarin nor canto, maybe he is from vietnam or soemthing, filippines,

  • no offence to jackie chan but jet li's english is way better.

  • he is so hot

  • in the ufc, i think Jet would kill them, his punches are too hard for any man to take =)

  • But It's not about who can beat who. Those who have angry and can't hold it in take it out on others. They make style to defend yourself, and help Stop War. Not to see who can beat up who.

  • Or who have a taste for violence.

  • dude jet li said that in fighting vs ufc guys they would eat him

  • he was being modest. ppl trained at the Shaolin Temple for years can kill the ppl in the ufc. Jets just a very modest guy. he would say "oh yea, i'll killem all!"...

  • how do u rekon jet li would go in the ufc ?

  • y would he go to ufc n get 50k for a ppv if he gets over 10 million for 1 movie

  • Heh heh, I smiled every time he said "Marsha rar".

    Jet Li is the man!

  • LMAO

  • Jet Li'z AwSOME!

  • looks a bit like the jedifilosofy

  • God, i wanna marry him!!!

  • such crap interviewer!!!

oh my god.... ask something good jackass

  • I love Jet Li but now I love him even more because of his philosophy/ideology GAH I SUPER LOVE HIM <3333333333

  • he's amazing

  • His philosophy is why I respect Jet Li.He also mentioned do in Shambhala Sun mag.sep.2004.,and just when I thought he was serious always in the movies, he turns up in Forbidden City as the "monkey" character??? He was sooooooooooooo funny, good, and fantastic in that character! Thank you for posting this interview too!

  • Jet arrete de sourire comme ca tu m'excite LOL LOL...

  • wow, i totaly agree with him.

  • I want to marry him , hahaha

  • Sounds like martial arts is like a religion

  • in a way it is

it is a way of life, similar to a religion indeed

  • "Stop the fight before it begins." I dig that philosophy. It's why I study Aikido.

  • Yeah but it'd make a crap movie.

  • Very Hollywood mentallity.

  • Damn you're right... and I hate the hollywood mentality. You need balance though. You can't have a movie without a story.

  • I agree with what he says. Myself, I've alwyas enjoyed my goju ryu karate for self/inner growth. The physical side of it is just a bonus. But it helped me grow as a person in the dojo with all my friends old and new to becoming a family like structure, where we do not compare or in any form a competition. We all just love to train together and enjoy the motion of a fight rather than the intent and outcome of a fight.

  • @Domzdream wished the taekwondo club i was part of was like that. it wasn't a good atmosphere for myself. quite a lot of the younger children and teenagers where very.....stuck up and would only focus on sparring and getting their anger out on it.

  • @CoffeePrinceNick

Yea. It's such a wrong attitude to martial arts. If one is there just to vent, then rather just go to boxing or wrestling.

  • he's got such a beautiful smile, jet li:)

  • jet li is my hero :D

  • the fuckn' chinese are fuckn' geniouses.

    Naturally.

  • I love jet he's very down to earth,Jet Li and Jackie Chan is my very very favorite actors I love them ,

  • well said!

  • i wish jet li was my dad he is so awesome!

  • jet seems like a real down to earth nice guy im a big jet fan even more now.....

  • It's good to see him smile so often. He has a really nice smile. The only film I see him smile the most is Fong Sai Yuk.

  • he smiles a lot in twin warriors where he plays jin bao

  • ..why do you get so tense and nervous?

  • I am a huge fan of jet li, except when he talks or speak in english, I become so tense and nervous....lol

  • why?

  • lol.. jet li's such a buddist now.. XD

  • this vid is great! thnx for uploading it!

Jet Li is so smart! i wish I could learn from him..

  • wait is that...Eric Chen?

  • haha, heck yea it is!
