i was raised in a coal mining town in australia called blackwater, worked in the underground coal mines of queensland now for 25 years, seen mines blow up killing close workmates at moura (google it) but people have to live it to appreciate it, even though shit has become a lot easier these days with mechanisation and technology, an underground miner is breed of thier own...... and we are proud of it....

when i first heard this song i cried because it was so sad for the coal miners that we lost but it also make me pray every nite to bring my husband home to me safe and sound

i like this song with out coal in our area ther would not be any thing my dad was a coal miner to he died from black lung but he would not have had it any other way he was proud of being a coal miner

i love this song, it had alot of meaning to it! my grandfather was in the mines for 30 years and he got covered up :/ but e survived it, he was paralized from stomach down, now hes just perfect, he can walk and everythng, i may not be a christian but i kno the lord is great, i was raised half my life in church....

I really love this song. My husband is a coal miner here in Kentucky. My father and grandfathers also worked in the coal mines. Coal mining is a very dangerous job, but it is one of the only job around here that provides a good living for a man without a college education.

i love this song :) and my dad knew most of the miners that got killed in U.B.B. mine explosion and my cousins live close to it and they were on the front of the Whitesville newspaper.........GOD BLESS OUR COAL MINERS AND THEIR FAMILYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this song, my grandpaw was a miner and so is my best friend. I'm proud to say I'm a West Virginian. God bless all Mountaineers, we still remeber what true freedom is and what it costs. Thanks to all the men who mine the coal, that makes the steel, thatdrives this country and keeps the lights on.

Awesome song, I live in WV and all the men in my family work in the coal mines, we pray for them daily. It's the only life they know.

I really love this song. My dad, both poppaws, and uncles worked in the mines. And I know what the mines can do to a person and I can tell you I have a high respect for a coal miner. But I know the hell a coal miner goes thru and I pray to God that my son or husband never has to go to the mines. My dad has seen men die right close to him and his health is shoot . I love all you miners and respect you all. God bless all MINERS.

They work in dark tunnels so we can have light. God Bless You Coal Miners. You are a special breed. Most of us will never know what its like to ride a trolley 5 miles back under a mountain with a helmet light. Thank You for doing what you do...we love our coal miners!!!!!

i love this ..my dad was a miner as well as cousins,uncles, and brother n law..my husband had a heart attack and passed away in the mine..so i know exactly how it feels waiting for them to come home..and then they dont...and he had 2 babies on his mind too!

My dad and grandfather was a miner my dad went to work in the mines when he was 13 to help out grandmother when grandfather was killed so I understand this song and what it stands for also.
