either Notch should add a combination block or someone should make a mod for it so that you can stick it next to an iron door and when you right click it you go into a screen with 9 digits and an enter key. then you could put a pressure plate inside so that the door would close when you walked on it. that way you wouldn't have to make a giant setup for this and it could fit on one block on the outside of your house/base.

@DarkWolfVG I've built it in 1.1 with no mods whatsoever, and it works fine... Pressing the last digit does nothing unless you've pressed all the digits previous to it in the lock. I don't know if I did something different, or what... Should I make a video or something?

To fix the bug where you can just hit the last digit to open/close the lock, just watch TrevorGames fix. (This works for the current version of Minecraft!)

i made a 3x3 padlock too, but mine isnt as compact, but in my opinion its a lot simpler, i just use RSNOR Latches in a row and connect wire to them so you have to have the specific combination...i have a video if anyone wants to take a look and give me some advice on what i can do to modify it. This is cool - however. Maybe its because i am using v1.1 but whenever i push the last digit in the lock (#3 in this case) it will open door (or in this case give the nice music). I push any random button but as long as i push the final one it unlocks.

there is a problem with this, the person who is hitting the combo, has a 1 in 9 chance of unlocking whatever it is your protecting. all they have to do is hit the last digit, is there a fix for this or does require a whole new redstone layout?

FLAW: no matter what, as long as you press the last button in the code, the door/whatever will open without any prerequisites. i tried doing this a million times and even downloaded his save and all i had to do every single time was press one button to open it. its more of a guessing game and process of elimination rather than a combo lock.

I think that extra repeater line isn't nescessary, you just have to swap a repeater and a wire around.

There's a pretty easy way to fix this for Minecraft 1.0. The only problem that exists is that the one center piece of redstone wiring at the end of the number 5 does not power the adjacent block because of the redstone update. If you simply add another row of repeaters behind the blocks (if you already built it, replace the note block line), and there you have your fix :)

Also, if you're still having problems, I suggest you check out cnb's rs nor latch array for the rs nor fix. Character limit.
